Was it because of the pufferfish-infused herbal medicine that her mother, who was struggling with infertility, had consumed?

Bok’s body held two secrets.

One was that her body would swell up hugely when she got angry, and the other was that an unknown ‘milk’ flowed from her chest.

At twenty, Bok’s first love came into her life.

The object of her affection was Do Bum-woo, famous on campus as ‘rich, handsome, and a player.’

But the answer she got to her confession was this….

“I don’t do small girls. They scream and make a fuss about how everything hurts.”

That night, after failing to control her emotions due to intoxication, her body swelled up, and he appeared before her as if by fate.

Drunk, Bum-woo didn’t recognize the enlarged Bok, and she accepted his seduction with a one-night stand.

A night with the man she loved. For him, it was a night to release his desires.

Bok thought that would be the end of everything.

Until Bum-woo reappeared and desperately clung to her.

“This… damn it…. I thought I was going crazy… I wanted to taste it again.”

The moment she looked into his empty eyes, a scene from a documentary she had once watched flashed across Bok’s mind.

With a trembling voice, she confessed the truth to him.

“Sunbae… Please listen to me carefully. I think you might be… addicted to a poison.”

“I don’t know about ‘poison’ or any of that nonsense… but could we do something else first?”

It was a poison. This was definitely a poison.

Tears flowed helplessly from her tightly shut eyes, overwhelmed by the guilt of having ruined him.

“Mommy…. Sob…”

I love obsessive male leads. That’s not exactly a secret. Give me the kind of all-consuming, single-minded attachment where he can barely function without the heroine, and I’m already halfway sold. The male lead here is exactly that to a T.

But... you really have to manage your expectations going into this.

The male lead at the start is rough. Not even in a fun red flag way. He’s a full-on manwhore, emotionally shallow, and just not someone you root for early on. I spent a good chunk of the beginning side-eyeing... more>> him.

The female lead has a very unusual trait. When she gets upset or angry, she transforms. She goes from her usual “skinny, almost childlike” appearance into a much more voluptuous and striking version of herself. The closest comparison I can think of is that powered-up transformation trope in anime, like Nezuko from Demon Slayer when she shifts into a more mature, powerful form.

The problem is in how the story uses this. The male lead has zero interest in her normal self at first, but the moment he sees her transformed version, he becomes completely hooked. Instead of growing attached to her as a person, he fixates on that version of her. Why? Because she suddenly looks insanely attractive. 🙄 He even goes as far as deliberately upsetting her just to trigger the transformation, which honestly felt really uncomfortable to read. It just came off icky.

Yeah... it didn’t sit right with me.

I don’t mind transformation tropes at all, but I wish this had been handled differently. For a large portion of the story, it feels like he’s only sticking around waiting for her to change again, not because he actually values her. Definitely frustrating to read.

To the story’s credit, it does get better. The male lead eventually comes to understand that it’s her, all of her, that he can’t live without, not just the version he was initially obsessed with. Whether you fully buy it is another story, but at least he doesn’t stay the same the whole time.

Maybe the main reason I kept reading was the smut, ngl. I loved it. It’s very intense, almost animalistic. There’s this raw, possessive energy to it that really worked for me. The jealousy, the desperation, the “I need you right now or I’ll lose my mind” kind of vibe. So good.

Overall, this feels like a “turn your brain off” kind of read. If you like obsessive, slightly unhinged male leads and don’t mind pushing through a rough start, there’s definitely something here to enjoy. Just be prepared for a frustrating first half, or at least be willing to overlook quite a bit. <<less

I came here because of h**ny period days but stayed for the characters. Just a day before I had started to read the story, I had a discussion with my sibling about how stories don't seem to have the 'Truly, Madly and Deeply' in love devoted FLs anymore (or maybe I just don't find them😅) And then, I came across this one.

In the most basic form, the FL is devotedly in love with the ML and stuff happens and ML looks at her and starts changing. But then, that is... more>> the most basic explanation.

Going in a bit detail, the ML helps the FL from a horrible situation and she develops a hero worship kind of love, becoming slightly stalkerish but eventually decides to confess, knowing full well that she will be rejected. She just wants it out of her system so that she can start anew. The ML for his part is a jerk in first look but is actually a pretty principled guy and from the way he thinks, a Mama's boy (not the tr*shy kind we hate but the good kind, who follows what his mom taught him. Also, he shows his father's tendencies too.) Since he is the 4th child of a rich (and very probably a healthy) family, he grew up without wanting much of anything. So, not many things hold his interest. So, he assists the FL when she is in a situation without thinking much about it but when it comes to her confession, he rejects her (probably to not feel like a pe*ophile or so I guess). Stuff happens and the ML gets addicted to FL.

The most catching point of the story is how the ML behaves with the FL. He is addicted to her but even then he takes her consent. The non con is really low. The FL who is in love, feels bad for his addiction and tries to stop her friends to try to badmouth the ML when he rejects her. She basically tries to take responsibility for the whole situation. (I wouldn't call her a masochist, but each one to their own.) I think the FL's parents could have been better written but in a way, they are trying to accept that their daughter is an adult and maybe the whole mess is also a little of their fault. They dont berate the FL but try to help her solve the situation.

Thus, I guess both of them have healthy families and the characters are well written. For now, I am liking the story. <<less
