Please use proper spacing and paragraphs.Xiao Suxi, a female schoolteacher, travels to a rural landlord’s estate to give lessons. Through a twist of fate, she rescues a village girl named Caiwei. From that moment on, the two become inseparable companions, weathering life’s storms together. Bound by this deep connection, both women undergo profound personal growth along the way.
Xiao Suxi was sitting in the tub, bathing, while Caiwei lay on the bed, propped on her side and watching her. As Suxi wiped herself down with a cloth, she mused, “Caiwei, next time I should gather some flower petals for my bath. The young ladies from wealthy families always use them, and over time, the scent lingers on their skin. I want to try it too.”
“But you already smell wonderful,” Caiwei replied. “You don’t need flower petals to be fragrant. Why do you suddenly want to copy those rich young ladies anyway?”
“When I was teaching away from home, I was barely around,” Suxi said. “And even when I was back, we never had the means. We aren’t strapped for cash anymore, so I figured, why not try bathing with flower petals? Besides, you say I smell good, but where? All I can smell on myself is sweat.”
Caiwei slipped out of bed, took the cloth from Suxi’s hands, and began gently scrubbing her back. “You really do smell lovely. Whenever I curl up in your arms, that’s exactly what I love to smell. If I went a single day without it, I probably wouldn’t be able to sleep.”
“You’re the only one who thinks so,” Suxi laughed. “I work hard all day and can only smell my own sweat, which isn’t pleasant at all. We share a bed every night, and you always insist on burrowing into my arms. If you really love it that much, I’ll let you smell it for the rest of your life.”
