Cullen, our MC, is a young adult who lost his entire family from a mu*der that was directed towards his family, and lost his entire village due to a fire. His only living kin, his dead father's close friend, died subsequently during a mercenary mission gone wrong, where the entire party was wiped out, excluding Cullen. His only companion, a wolf dog, died during the mission as well. He lived as a lone wolf commoner/mercenary until one day, he was brought into the royal palace because of an oracle. It's there he found out his mother, who had her violet eyes gauged out, was a royal, and that he is to be next in line for Emperor because of the order of birth.

Our ML, on the other hand, Kiyen, is a Dragon who has served the empire for 1500 years. But not of his own accordance, for he hates humans for their greed. He serves the empire because he was brought to the world by the Goddess. Due to his immortality, he has seen too much, and knows too much, so he hides away in his own quarters in the royal palace, accompanied only by animals and fauna. Although he holds immense power, and is a Dragon, he shows emotions, for he cares for all life. Jaded by his living, his first impression of MC is as bad as they can be.

CULLEN CONFESSED (c71) !!!! Is just too bad that Kiyen doesn't understand/is in denial and rejected him, due to his jaded thinking. Our dearest MC took the rejection in stride and said to his face it doesn't matter, what matters is Kiyen is by his side. ARGH MY HEART. Can you believe that he said that he can love and believe in Kiyen because he is immortal and everyone he loved this far is dead? Oh my heart is going to shatter into pieces when we finally reach the summary in the story ;-;

Kiyen still views Cullen as a Larkan, and it's sad to read :/ dude literally feels jealousy yet is too jaded and stubborn to realise it. I swear if Kiyen doesn't crematorium chase Cullen I'm gonna be mad for our baby >: (
