I enjoy the combat and growth / development aspects, but I've almost dropped the story a couple times. The story is full of body horror, s*avery, humiliation, r*pe, and it seems like the majority of unnamed characters exist only to exemplify the worst humanity has to offer. It feels like you can really understand the author's barely concealed fetish.

Also, on occasion it seems like the author reaches down from on high to lower the protagonists iq to give opportunity to showcase these aspects.

(Nevermind that she already dug out a few rooms with no mention of tools and later says she wouldn't use her big ol blades to do it. Maybe she used that busted sword? How is it any good anymore still?)

MC needs some info about the Dark Elves? Here's two important members of it who just traveled out into the caves and are now talking about how things are going. Helpfully covering their thoughts on her situation even! How nice.

Needs armor? Just take it as "payment" for saving someone. They're unconscious. They won't complain.

Need to know how the world thinks of players being around and if it's safe to be known as one? Well here's some adventurers arguing over it nearby. She can just listen in and not have to do anything!

There's another issue that bugged me. She just "knows" things. Her "previous DND knowledge" tells her that these new spiders are this specific kind and just rolls with it. She assumes so much because of what she knows from DND and doesn't seem to have any assumption it could be wrong.

She's just too confident in her assumptions and nothing happens to prove her wrong.

Another thing! Her transformation was offered due to the goddess she went against by choosing Shub-niggurath as her god, by choosing that God and by being poisoned by the spider. You'd think, oh, wow. With that combo her situation should be super rare! Never before seen!

Nope. Apparently it's a known, if rare thing that just happens when dark elves are live sacrificed. So. Shub only gave the MC a busted ability and dipped apparently. Cause the body ain't unique to them.

Oh and that ability? Passive health regen. Even at level one it was a little stronger than spider venom. She assumes it was a low level spider, but still.

Later after leveling it by just hurting herself and letting it happen, she says it can bring her from almost dead to full health in thirty seconds. She says it's not that impressive. That's busted in an RPG. Especially since she's set herald up as an evasive type. Just kite for thirty seconds and bam. Full health. Oh, and it works off percentage so it'll always be that busted.

Almost twenty chapters and she hasn't had any real challenges. Things are just given to her, she doesn't have to worry about anything but being found. (Oh, but she has invisibility and a stealth skill so that doesn't seem very likely)

The idea was neat but it feels like they flubbed it hard. <<less
