After facing death and going back in time, the second marriage to her ex-husband was for the sole purpose of getting pregnant.

Her only hope in an unhappy marriage, the child she gave birth to with her cold hearted husband. Her first life, which was only focused on that child, ended at the hands of an unknown assailant.

‘If I could go back in time, I wouldn’t love him.’

Thus, in her second life, which she miraculously obtained, she chose to marry him with the sole intention of meeting her child again, unlike her previous life, which longed for love.

“Just stay married to me for a year.”

In return, she would cooperate in his investigation on a secrets incident that happened over 10 years ago as he wished.

She thought they were just a married couple in name only, bound by a contract.

“There’s no need to spend the first night together.” She stated.

“But I want to.”

He was acting different from her past life.

***

I thought I would quietly leave as soon as I had a child. But I couldn’t help but say it when I saw his mistress in this life as well.

“That woman, she’s the woman you love.”

The answer to the words I spoke to prevent a repetition of the evil fate of my previous life was unexpected.

“Until this contract is over, you are my wife.”

“…”

“I’m doing all of that only with you.”

Seeing him reveal a creepy obsession for some reason, I pushed myself to gather my thoughts.

Don’t forget, Blair.

He doesn’t love you.

So in this life…

I’ll leave you first.

I have always found people who claim to like "angst" funny. Because it is a white lie, almost all the the novels of such type with the exception of none, have the FL in "angsty" situation while the ML is the one ruining her life for some brain dead, tactless, tacky reason which he knows the FL is not really at fault for, yet the FL pays the price for a fault that was never her own. Have you ever seen a novel where the FL ruins the life of... more>> an ML this way. People would jump the FL and criticise the FL way too much. I feel like if such a novel even exists (I doubt it does) then it must have been very poorly received considering, I have never even heard of it. Atp people don't like simply "angst", what they actually like is the FL suffering, getting mistreated and neglected ending up with her ab*ser of sorts while the said ab*ser does the bare minimum and mostly not even that. What I also fail to understand is the mindset of such female characters, why would you marry such a pos again after going back in the time, even if you want the same child with him, do you not realise that having a child with such a despicable man would also affect your child's future and mental well-being?? Even if you plan to leave him, sharing a child with someone means always being connected to that person, through parenting even if you leave him. This is pure garbage for anyone sane. I also don't want to know if
Spoiler

he only had a fake relationship with the mistress, because tr*sh is still tr*sh, idc Abt the reason his behaviour towards her speaks volumes

Against popular belief & prejudices that such novels face due to the description, I thoroughly enjoyed the novel. I loved it!!!

The first few chapters were so good that I had to go to find the raws. I hope the translations continue because this is the type of novel that I would like to read at least 2 to 3 times. Though the plot is predictable & generic, it didn't bore me at all. The writing hits you at the right spot. You can feel the angst.

I think there is a... more>> certain charm in this novel that I can't describe well, irrespective of the complaints regarding the ML's attitude. But above all, I liked the FL here. Don't let the cover fool you. She's strong & determined. Willing to do anything & pay any price to meet her child.

I hope translators or any translation group picks this gem. I wanna read this so bad. <<less

This novel has same vibes as " while still in love" and " the devil who breaks my neck" novels. I'm sure ML will be redeemed in a reason that he did not touched nor slept with the bit*h mistress. Too used of a reason aside from child trauma of a distant past. I'm also sure that his reason for being cold and indifferent to her was because she was sent by an enemy relative, but he was the one who turned back time to see her once again, such... more>> hypocrisy. And in the future when his wife has no longer affection towards him, he is ready to do anything even if he has to lick her dirty boots with dog poop. I'm very immune of this kind of ml. I cannot even tr*sh talk because not long after the table will turn and flashbacks from ml's side will to be seen, the author has already wrote him a very remarkable redemption. But still, I hope it will update. Thank you for the good translation

I spent approximately 30 euros to read the full novel and I'm on the last 29 chapters. If I'm going to be honest here, the female lead is one of the few characters in the novel that has her motivations set out for her and this wouldn't have been a problem in the novel if the entire story was only in her pov, but it's not. There are several antagonists that have no emotional depth, their just purely evil, or simply jealous.

The translation issues might add to this, I'm not... more>> sure, but the novel isn't very descriptive, which I'm used to, but sometimes it's just a paraghraph full of dialogue and nothing else. Not even their expressions or setting is conveyed, which makes the novel a little hard to chew through.

Also, the intimacy scenes are a little awkward since it's very clear the author is not ready to write those, it's vague, but then it'll suddenly have something very descriptive pop up. I don't mind closed door romance scenes, but in this novel it almost seems a little jogged up. Like the author cut some passages out, and again, this might be because of the translation issues, since I'm reading the english version. (If anyone read the Korean version, mind telling me if it was different?)

I will give this novel some praise for the overall story line, not a single chapter made me want to stop reading, which was a good thing. The narrative changes are also done well and the characters aside from the antagonists are drawn out enough to be pleased with.

The romance is a little tricky though, since the male and female lead are so against one another in the beginning, but the story makes it believable that they eventually fall in love with eachother. I wouldn't want someone like Herdin breathing down my neck though, he scares me a little. :D

I can't wait for Asiel to be born and Blair to share some affectionate moments with her son, and since I'm not finished with the novel yet, I'm still clinging on to the hope that Herdin and Blair will cease their feuds and finally be happy with one another. <<less

One good thing about the ML is he hates our MC because of what she's done in the past - when she's just a kid - and not because of her family.

But the again, of course her family is tr*sh. And of course, understanding the reasoning doesn't make me agree with his actions.

He's a tr*sh in the past life and still a tr*sh in the present - at least until the last chapter I read... Up to chapter 60's or 70's?

With all that said, I love the story and rooting... more>> for our MC and her son. I sincerely feel she'll be happier without that sorry excuse of a husband. <<less

I like this story, even though it has clichés. It's well-written. The characters are well-developed. Blair's motivations are clear. She wants her child, and that's it. She doesn't seek love or understanding. Of course, I wish the ending had been different. I wish she had lived freely with her son, away from the villains and their schemes. However, this is a rare occurrence in Korean novels.

It's an interesting read, full of drama, angst, conspiracies, misunderstandings, and magic.

Blair Delmark (FL) is the only imperial princess, younger sister of the Emperor (a selfish jerk), and wife of the Empire's only duke. She was an unfortunate young woman, with a terrible family (older brother and mother) and a terrible husband, but lucky enough to have a baby as an angel (sweetie).

In her first life, Blaire died a sad death, but for some inexplicable reason, she returned in time.

She decided to remarry her first husband, despite his indifference, abandonment,... more>> and possible infidelity with a sl*t... I mean a priestess. All to have her beloved baby angel (her son, Asiel) back.

Personally, I didn't want to remarry such an idiot, not even for the little angel... but I suppose, one does what one can endure and for whom one endures it.

Herdin Delmark (ML), I don't have much to say about him, other than he's an idiot, a bad husband, a bad father, and I hope he stays alone forever. (Actually, I have a lot to say, but it's all blasphemys, so let's just leave it at that.)

Spoiler

Apparently, everything points to Caligan being the one who mu*dered Blair. I don't think Herdin had anything to do with it; he may be an idiot, but I don't think he would have ordered Blair killed.

That Caligan... there's something very strange about him. He might even be connected to the temple.

[collapse]

Well, somehow the idiot redeems himself, apologizes, and suffers quite a bit.

It's not as simple as saying it; quite a few things happen, and unexpected secrets are revealed.

I feel a little sorry for Mikhail, he was a good guy, he had nice feelings for Blair, but it wasn't meant to be (he's one of those secondary male protagonists who deserves his own story and his own love story). <<less
