I became a guide for the sake of the older brother I loved.

“Han Seung-won.”

“……”

“Don’t go around guiding other people.”

He disapproved of my choice more than anyone else.

“Why? You want to rub lips with that bastard again?”

Sometimes, I just couldn’t figure him out.

“…If I’m your exclusive guide, does that mean I even need your permission to have s**?”

“If I told you to, would you?”

I knew he could be needlessly stubborn, but I didn’t think it would go this far.

“I asked you…if I told you to, would you?”

“…I don’t even know why I’m having this conversation with you, Brigadier General.”

“Of course you do. I’m your hyung and—”

“Even if we’re like brothers!”

I think I might have gotten angry in that moment.

“No matter how close, brothers don’t share details about their s*x lives.”

Even though I grew up an only child with no frame of reference, I knew enough to realize this wasn’t normal.

Whatever his intentions were, no ordinary brothers would have this kind of conversation.

At my unconsciously raised voice, Cheon Hae-gang closed his mouth for a moment.

His already sharp expression turned even colder.

“Which is it?”

“…What do you mean by that, sir?”

“Exactly who is it you want to have s** with? Lieutenant Colonel Kwak? First Lieutenant Yoon? Major Lee, the one you’ve been with all day?”

“Right now…”

“Or is it Captain Yuk, the one who keeps pestering you for guiding like a little kid?”

The silence between us was as thick as the sound of his heavy breathing.

Seung-won kept his mouth shut to the end, clenching his jaw so tightly the muscles stood out.

“Whoever it is, if I tell you not to, don’t. I’m warning you.”

You might not expect it, but the action parts of the story are actually really entertaining. Its obvious that the author put a lot of effort in it. MC is strong and reliable and you cant help but think "Damn, this guy is so cool." Honestly it's hard to come across well written mc's in guideverse bls that dont need a knight in shining armour, especially when the MC is a guide.

I wasnt a big fan of guideverse before this one tbh. Most of these kinds of stories make me... more>> feel like the s*xual attraction between guides and espers is kinda forced. (Idk if im explaining ts correctly?) Thats not the case at all in this one though.

Story is engaging enough to keep you hooked. The ML might be frustrating at the beginning but as you continue to read the story, you understand his emotions in depth and you come to realise he's impossible to resent. At the start, its easy to come to the conclusion that the ML is yet another cliche love interest who's possessive and doesnt realise he loves the MC romantically,

but its so much more than that. He cannot forgive himself for mu*dering the mc's parents (not intentionally ofc) and destroys himself in the battlefield as a form of self harm. That guilt gnaws on him and he considers himself to be terribly selfish for still choosing to cling on to the MC and remain by his side.

Another aspect of the story that I really liked is how realistic it is. (Ik that sounds dumb considering it literally contains characters with superpowers) What I mean is that if gates really started popping up around the world, people wouldnt hesitate using espers as tools while still considering them as monsters.

This is the type of story that fully immerses you into such a world and makes u seriously feel for both the MC and the ml. <<less

It's still early, but the thing I like about the novel is the trope where they only have each other, so they're willing to do everything, even sacrificing their health, and it could result in death, like ... more>>

"If it's for you, I could die tomorrow without regret. That's how much I love you."

that line of the MC. There's also the consent of the main lead (I don't know yet if that'll change later since I'm not finished reading) and his protectiveness. Although he was possessive of the MC, it wasn't that bad or annoying. It's just that he's so oblivious and in denial of his feelings, covering the feelings as siblings treatment, even when it's obvious his feelings weren't platonic.

I also like the MC's personality. He just needs to fight more, stop being kind of passive for the sake of the ML, and be more honest about his feelings. As for the plot, honestly, when it comes to military guideverse, I get bored because they rarely show much action. It's like I'm expecting more, but what I get are those annoying characters who keep pestering the MC. <<less
