In short, the MC is from a race called Dekarid (not sure if I spelled that right) who are mostly human like but sprout wings. They can directly manipulate aura, and because of that are desired targets for the demonic monsters who feed on it. Because of that and other reasons, the Frost Church (one of the religions) considers them unholy and outside the bounds of the protection of the gods. So because of that and other major spoilers I won't reveal here, MC hides his identity because he would be hunted otherwise. In the scene from the beginning I describe, the holy knights came to the town just to kill him.

FMC world for an organization that seeks to protect al living beings and are not prejudiced against MC's race. However, they seek him out because his power can help with some Magitech artifacts that wipes out demonic monsters.

Re FMC's trauma, her family was killed by demonic monsters, and propaganda says that MC is the one who called the monsters - its not true, which she knows, but that adds a layer here. And its clear getting to the bottom of just what happened with the MC and the monsters will be a mahot part of the story.
