Yi Ke rescues a dying rabbit, taking it home to care for it with a kind heart. To her surprise, once the “clumsy” rabbit recovers, it begins causing all sorts of chaos. Yi Ke keeps a forced smile, telling herself to endure it.
Everything changes one moonlit night when the rabbit suddenly transforms into a stunning, aloof woman. Yi Ke’s pupils dilate in shock: “Are you a monster?”
The beautiful woman’s face flashes with annoyance. With a cold glare and a proud lift of her chin, she snaps, “Insolent! I am the Jade Rabbit under the command of the Moon Goddess, Chang’e!”
Yi Ke:?
To support her dream of a “gilded cage” romance, Yi Ke plunges into a high-intensity, s*ave-driving lifestyle to provide for her guest. The Jade Rabbit, currently lacking her powers and struggling with social interaction, has only one hobby: roasting Yi Ke.
When Yi Ke is working on design drafts, the rabbit scoffs, “Even a toddler could draw that.” When Yi Ke heads out on missions, the rabbit rolls her eyes and mocks, “Try not to lose an arm or a leg while you’re at it.”
Yi Ke laps it all up happily, the sharp tongue, the soft heart, and the “tsundere” nature. She loves it. Eventually, the Jade Rabbit even admits with haughty shyness: “You are in my heart. You shall be my wife.”
One day, while on an emergency mission, Yi Ke is captured by the enemy. In a dark room, she looks up to see her Jade Rabbit walking toward her, smiling mysteriously. The people who captured Yi Ke bow down to the rabbit with utmost reverence.
Yi Ke’s pupils dilate once more. The Jade Rabbit pinches her chin, whispering seductively: “Oops, I’ve been found out.”
Tightening her grip, the Jade Rabbit forces their eyes to meet: “So, you were only pretending to be weak. Actually, I was, too.”
“My dear, don’t hate me. You did promise, didn’t you? That you would be my wife?”
I use the passage of years as a ruler to measure the distance that is just right between us. The chance encounter in your eyes was, in reality, a tide I had calculated over and over again.
One-Sentence: “Do not hate me, for did you not promise to be my wife?”
Theme: Ten thousand years is too long, so let us cherish every fleeting moment.
