A dirt spoon, Noh Hyeji, whose resentment over not owning a home runs deep.

But now, she’s a Guide Spoon?!

Apparently, that’s what it means to be an S-Class contact-type Guide.

(She decided to forget the fact that she only scored an F in radiative guiding.)

After six relentless years of saving money while working as the exclusive Guide and secretary of Han Kanghyeon, the strongest S-Class Esper alive…

Ta-da! She’s pregnant!

〈 If Party A (Guide) becomes pregnant due to negligence in contraception, the contract is immediately terminated once Party B (Esper) becomes aware of the pregnancy. 〉

〈 Party B may claim damages from Party A for violation of this clause. 〉

No! My precious apartment!

She finally bought her lifelong dream, a Han River view apartment, with a 20% mortgage, only to face the possibility of it turning to nothing.

She doesn’t want to leave Kanghyeon for another Esper. It’s not that she’s particularly attached to the CEO himself, she just likes his money.

Just when all seems lost, a loophole in the contract shines a ray of hope.

〈 Once Party B becomes aware of the pregnancy 〉

So as long as the CEO doesn’t find out, it’s fine?

“It’s not your baby, CEO.”

“…You had a boyfriend?”

“Yes.”

“……”

Defend the Han River view apartment at all costs!

But why does Hyeji’s desperate struggle to avoid contract termination keep spiraling out of control…?

This one sits firmly in the guideverse trope territory, and honestly, it doesn’t add anything new to it. The romance is sweet, the plot are predictable that you’ll see coming from a mile away. Still, it has its charm. The MC and ML both actually have working brains (hallelujah), and the MC’s strict adherence to the contract isn’t all melodrama or enmeshed in lofty principles—it’s about staying safe. Watching the ML get tripped up by the very terms he set himself is surprisingly satisfying, like seeing someone hoist by their... more>> own petard.

The character traits of both are rational if eclectic, and far removed from the usual 'holier than thou'-ness. If you want a short, light, and easy romance read with a touch of wit, this will do the job nicely. <<less

Like all of Libenia's books, this one features a tough feminist FMC. Libenia also, as always, does a fantastic job of laying out FMC's motivations and emotions so that the reader isn't foaming with impatience at the contrived separation arc.

Here the FMC scored only high enough to be the "s*x guide" and not a regular "non-s*xual contact guide" or however it was called. It's one of those situations where s*x guides are rarer, more effective, but also carries a social stigma, so they're very valuable and sought after. Kind of... more>> like an ABO trope.

Even in guide verse, there are chaebols, and MC is one. He's a green flag, a very good boss, with his sole bad trait being that "he's so nice to everyone he inadvertently less people on when he doesn't give a toss about them" kind of guy. He's also a decent dude, in that he didn't want a relationship that could mar the line of professionalism, and he worried that the contract wouldn't be fair to her.

There are good reasons why she didn't believe he really liked her, and that part was really well-done in a way that most misunderstanding arcs are not. But libenia is a good and solid author so nothing by her is a miss. <<less
