In this final volume, the characters must come to terms with everything they’ve endured—both the pain they caused and the pain they carry. With subtle growth and careful distance, the story moves toward a quiet, hard-earned resolution. Featuring new short stories and glimpses into the lives of beloved characters, this volume offers closure without forgetting the past. A gentle, emotionally resonant finale to the COLD series, where healing, love, and accountability come full circle.

Finishing this volume felt like finally exhaling after holding my breath through an entire emotional marathon. After the chaos, the heartbreak, the sheer brutality of what came before, this volume is the long-awaited moment of stillness. Not a perfect happy ending, but something better: peace hard-earned.

What makes this conclusion so satisfying is how it doesn’t erase the pain—it acknowledges it, gently and fully. Both couples, so broken and volatile in their own ways, don’t suddenly become perfect, but they grow. We see the weight of their choices, the quiet, persistent... more>> effort it takes to stay—to love—when love isn’t easy or beautiful.

The tenderness here is quiet but powerful. Seeing Akizawa try, not in a dramatic grand gesture, but in small, consistent ways, is maybe the most romantic thing in the entire series. And Kusuda... watching him soften without forgetting feels like closure. True, earned closure. <<less
