The Pairing: the MC and ML interaction was alright, it didn't leave a lasting impression on me. i think the story would still be good without the couple being together. ML barely said anything throughout the novel and at some point, you could also predict what he's gonna say. what i'm saying is, he's repetitive. maybe it's just a 'me problem' but i'm not a big fan of stories where the ML is just there for the sake of showing face ykyk. I wanna see more in depth of the character and his thoughts. 

I would give this book 7.5 out of 10. the storyline was good, i love the author's description of the worlds and ghosts. the MC was a bit OP but that's the kind of man i'm into. the ending....maybe because i'm dumb but i legit don't get it. like what??? the author and the translator did a great job on explaining the ending but honestly i just don't get it i'm sorry TvT <<less

the plots and the face slapping are very good. i binged the whole arcs in 4 school days because i just couldn't put it down. it got stuck in my head when i'm not reading it. 

The Pairing: this book has one ML. every ML is one person. their interactions are very sweet and...spicy. although there is no spicy scenes in the book (i think there's some but not many), the aftermaths of those implied spicy can already give you an idea about what happened. but like other novels, the ML don't really show his character in depth. i mean that's fair because the novel ain't about him but i would love to know more about him because his character(s) are very interesting.

the MC isn't like any other MC. he didn't actively seek out to revenge people that wronged him in the past but the face slapping was still great. he used his second chance to avoid going into the deep hole that he fell into in his first life. he lived well but people from his past that wronged him destroyed themselves. 

the ML was cunning, but also very funny. he was the main catalyst in helping MC get a better life. their relationship started as transactional relationship but as time went, their feelings turn genuine and life couldn't be better (not for kang jian lol). and the little white rabbit...my son....i love him so much...TvT

okay so the plot of this book isn't too heavy. it basically a slice of life story of a man who got transmigrated into the book that he read as the villain. in order to avoid his demise, he befriended the protag and protag ended up falling in love him.

other than the protagonist's family drama and his identity as secret heir, there's not much going on with the plot. the face slapping wasn't that good imo as it is very mild and few. we don't really get much info about his actual family and how he dealt with the pests.

the protagonist and the ML didn't fell in love straight away. the ML learnt to slowly love again after being alone since basically forever. there isn't any misunderstanding plot which is very good. once the MC realized that he is in love with ML, he was a bit hesitant but with a nudge, they both ended up together. 

the ML himself isn't 2D unlike other ML that i've read so far imo. he have his own thoughts and the author didn't recycle his dialogue although he didn't say much (which is fair since he has a cold personality). it would be nice if the author delve more about his secret family and the karma that they get.

in saying that, this book is very good if you want something soft, sweet, and fluffy to read. there's only 70 chapters and they are very easy to digest. you can even read it before going to bed (like i did lol). i give this book 7.5 out of 10. the plot was very simple and interesting so if you're into a slice of life novel without heavy plot, or if you just simply want a break from reading a book with complicated twist, then this book is perfect for you :^) <<less

the beginning of the book showed how the ML kinda cope with the MC's death. it was heartbreaking seeing how much the ML is affected by his death. it was funny seeing how the MC 'interact' with him after his death too so i'm conflicted.

after the first few chapters, the story has taken a more cheerful tone as it followed the MC as a ghost living in the world and hell. it was really sweet too how the ML can guess that his lover was still with him after he died. and it was really sweet that he vowed to never get with anyone else until he dies. need me a man like that tbh

i cried so fcking hard reading this novel. no amount of kitty can heal me after i read it. although it has HE, the road to it wasn't easy at all. the novel has everything like fluff, angst, kitten, angst, time-travel-ish, face-slapping, angst, and ML with a personality that don't repeat same stuff over and over again every time they interact. did i mention angst? because for me this novel has tons of it. 

the plot twist at end completely caught me off guard. maybe because i was busy crying but i didn't expect that at all.

the novel's comedy was so freaking good. every characters no matter how simple brings flavour to the novel. even the damn cab too!!!! their friendships with the MC makes me jealous of their closeness.

there was a misunderstanding between MC and ML regarding their feelings but it got solved in like 2 chapters so don't worry about it.

one thing that i really love about this novel is how realistically it portrayed coming out to your family. most novels that i've read before, the family was very understanding and welcoming even before they came out but not this one. the couple has to struggle to come out to their conservative family and had to hide their relationship for a bit. i love how brave and graceful the MC is when dealing with his parents who want their kid to be number 1 at everything, just like most asian parents. i guess i kinda relate to MC. although my parent don't compare me to my sister, i can't help but do so because she's just simply better than me in everything. but i digress

the relationship that MC has with his brother was also very sweet. even though his brother wasn't there with him, he genuinely love and care for his little brother (MC) and supported him after their parents disowned him. i wish there's another novel about his big brother because i love him so much. i hope he got a happy ending for himself (with me hopefully).

the ghosts were scary, don't get me wrong. some of them even got me hiding under my blankets because i was so scared of them. but the fluff kinda protects me from the ghosts?? it's like a slice of life novel but with supernatural twists. the ghosts were funny and amusing but some are very sad and if you're like me, you'd shed a tear. 

the relationship between the couple wasn't rushed even though they're stuck together basically 24/7. one thing i like about this novel is the ML. he is shameless but very protective of his lover even before they got together (after they got over their initial hostility ig)

but the more i read about him, honestly... he deserve to he treated as a pampered young princess. his childhood was sad and full of misery but he still turns out to be a kind, soft-hearted man underneath his cold exterior. no wonder ML fell in love with him...

the MC of the novel is very pitiful. after dying a very painful death(s), it's natural for you to lose hope and have no reasons to live afterwards. i think this is what the MC was thinking about before meeting the ML. you just live for sake of living. 

and i guess since the MC has no reasons to live, he didn't really care about the strangeness of the little county he lives in. but everyone can't help but love and dote on him, especially the ML after getting to know him. 

talking about the ML, i have no idea how to describe him. maybe a sly, cunning fox? i wouldn't reveal more about this man cause i don't want to spoil the book.

if you know me, you know i love slice of life novels. i could sustain myself solely with this genre and i would still be happy. this novel certainly fit my criteria.

the plot wasn't heavy unless you count the characters' backstory. even then it wasn't thoroughly explored so it is up to your interpretation whether the plot was heavy or nah. 

the story revolved around MC who is sweet and 'innocent' actor and protective yet not overbearing president of a very very powerful company. classic combo. everyone loves that! their love story started out with a bit of misunderstanding but it was for the greater good. other than this, their relationship sailed smoothly.

other thing that i love about this novel is the character Song Yan. this man is such a tsundere. even though his intention in the beginning wasn't pure, he still accidently helped the MC in his career. he said he is not MC's friend yet always warning him about the sharks in the entertainment circle even before truly knowing who the MC is. they're like one-sided rivalry turned friends. i wish he has more scene and idk why but i imagined him as Jiang Cheng lol. 

and other thing that i didn't expect to see from this novel is a reborn trope. however it wasn't the main focus of the story although the effects kinda help MC and ML to be together. and the trope wasn't on MC.

one thing that i don't like was the sudden ending. i was enjoying the dog food and the family trope at the end when it suddenly ended. i wanna see more about their future. i wanna learn more about their backstories. i wanna know in depth about the characters that got slapped silly. i know the story should focus in the couple but the face slapped was too good to be wasted.

i give this novel a rating 7.5 out of 10. it was soft, fluffy, and the face slapping was good. i would give the novel a higher rating if they explore more about the revenge and backstories but overall, it's a good book to binge on when you have three assignments due in a week :) <<less

first of all i want to say that gaming trope has never been my cup of tea. it's just too many terms and words that I'm not used to so that might impact my review. 

with that being said, i just wanna say OMG AHHHHHHCBSJDJJAJDIAIDJWJDJAJD <-- literally me the whole time eading this book. the MC was so shameless in the game but can't blame him. he a catfish. 

the romance in the novel initally focused too much on the in game romance and barely any irl interaction. this almost made me dropped the novel cause like i said i dont like gaming trope. but i preserved. 

but man once these two meet irl and the misunderstanding has been resolved,i was fed dog food until the end. i screamed and scromed and mom thought i went crazy.

AHHHHHHHH <-- my first impression when i started reading the book. the plot is easy and the flow was steady. i could easily keep up with the plot. and the side characters omg!!! i love when stories also give backgrounds to the others instead of only on the MC and ML. this story did a great job at that.

there's also side romance that involve their friends and they're very sweet and a bit angsty. i love seeing them get their happy ending.

since this is a time travel(?) novel, obvs there's gonna be some face slapping and omg they're so goooodddd!!! i love it when weak character become strong and can defend themselves and their loved ones. they deserve it.

the dynamics between the couple was a bit fast pace imo but tbf they've known each other for two lifetimes (eventho the ML wasn't aware of it). they're easy to accept that they have feelings for each other and they just cute man what can i say.

I've read until the part where they are together as a couple but I'm not sure what happens after that. but i feel like i should do this book justice and review it because everyone deserve to read this gem.

if circumstances had been different, i would definitely rfinish this book. or maybe i will in the future. who knows not me.

now, don't be like me so please give it a go and hopefully finish it. i won't give it any rating since i don't think it's fair to give it a rate without finishing it.
