In terms of adventure, character development, plot, translation, and slow-burn romance— all are satisfying. It was worth rereading— especially that I first read it under the mountainous pressure of school requirements. Anyway, it was worth it.

Here are the things to look forward to:

CHARACTERS:

> I haven't been so satisfied with an MC before. An Zhe (MC) was innocent but not s*upid. He may not be as intelligent as Zhou YunSheng (from FOD) but he was understanding and receptive. He may seem overly calm and ignorant in chaotic times but in fact, he knows and decided to just accept everything. Most importantly, he may be a mushroom but he has feelings. I just really, really him.

> Lu Feng (ML) was quickly climbing the ranks of My Most Favourite MLs until... it reached the end of the novel but he hasn't banged An Zhe yet! So frustrating! Also, they have slept on the same bed more than three times yet he still won't make any moves! Where is your dick, Lu Feng?! To borrow the words of Dr. Ji (from this novel), "You (Lu Feng) disappoint me more than An Zhe"— he said that after finding out that Lu Feng and An Zhe didn't slept together after all those chances.

> Characters came and went, it was sad but the dead is impossible to come back. There are many deaths in this novel, however, it just reflects the real life— where people come and go. It is unlike other novels where some seemingly important characters were forgotten by the author. Here, their disappearance is justified.

PLOT:

> The pacing of events are not boring nor fast. Everything may be unexpected but they were narrated in a timely manner.

> The concept was unique and logical. The conflicts were properly solved and twists are something to look forward to.

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT:

> I truly enjoyed accompanying MC's gradual understanding of human nature. The most enjoyable was whenever he tries to converse with people using his limited understanding during his first month. He was so adorable!

ROMANCE:

> It is already a great achievement when the characters' romance did not overcome the plot. This novel achieved that.

> It is frustratingly slow but satisfyingly sweet

.> The ML, though frighteningly cold, was a— uhm— capable, caring, and a good person (but was sometimes fierce so I'm not sure how to fully describe him).

> The MC is not dense in this department. In fact, he was pretty straight forward. He even once asked the ML, "Do you want to sleep with me?" at the first extra chapter. > Of course he's not a human so he can be considered not dense.

TRANSLATION:

> The translation quality is great! It was Rainbowturtle who translated it.

Overall, it was a great novel worth cherishing. <<less

Characters:

— The MC, Zhou Yun Sheng, is a genius. For readers who don't like dumb and weak characters, ZYS is for you. No matter what character he adapts, he's all so lovable. Really, if I'm going to rank him in my Most Favourite Protagonists List, he'll belong in the Top 5.

— The ML transcended my expectations and ideals. He's the most supportive leading character I know. *Cries* He is the boyfriend I wish I have.

— The other characters— the dynamic worlds' protagonists and supporting characters— were mostly three-dimensionally created. They have depth, feelings, internal conflicts, realizations, and have reasons behind their actions— most novels don't have these characteristics but FOD successfully delivered us their personalities justified by events. However, some interesting supporting characters just suddenly disappeared and their fates were not narrated, leaving me hanging.

Plot:

— This is a world-hopping novel— meaning, each world has corresponding genre (modern, ancient, apocalypse, xianxia, entertainment etc.). Each world has its own twists and conflicts that are really engaging. I admit, QWTFOTD has a lot of "fan-service" and is predictable but the characters, schemes, and romance are all interesting and entertaining.

— The plot follows ZYS who was swallowed by a system, reincarnated as a villain in every world, until he broke free from the system's grasp. From then on, although he was still being reincarnated as a cannon fodder each time, he can now do whatever he wants and destroy the fate of each world's protagonists.

— Plus, plus, plus, throughout my reading, I didn't perceive any obvious plotholes.

Narration:

— Top-notch. The imageries are amazing. The feelings are all creatively conveyed and narrated.

— Also, I personally like it how the author described the ML whenever he lust ZYS. Hahahahah!

Translation:

— The best. Idioms, imageries, and other word-plays aren't lost in the translation. The beauty of Chinese literature was retained while maintaining its readability to non-Chinese readers, like me.

— Notes are also provided for better understanding.

Overall, I recommend this novel. This is not just a masterpiece, but a collection of masterpieces.

Note: Needs good reading comprehension when reading this.

Additional Note: If QWTFOTD is a classic, then Don't Pick Up Boyfriends From The tr*sh Bin is a canonical great work in the quick transmigration genre! <<less

Likes:Realistic plot. The MC has no heaven-defying golden finger that will throw logic to the wind. Most things that happened have comprehensive explanations behind.Strong, kindhearted Main Character. Although the MC has been repeatedly taken advantage of before his rebirth, he woke up desiring no revenge. He won't act unless provoke that's what I like best about him. Nevertheless, he's smart and never allowed anyone to take advantage of him again.The little kid's and the other kid's moments. There's this child that will get close to MC and although I don't like children, this kid is so meng. Most importantly, he's like Wei Ying and he has this friend who has the same personality as Lan Zhan.Proper novel length. It is not too short to left its readers hanging but not too long to drag things out. The pacing of events is also great.In line with being realistic, the face-slapping events were not exaggerated. What I also like the most is the people's IQ is alright (in some novels, people's IQ were deliberately lowered which is so annoying).Dislikes:The ML, for some reason, is only 2D for me. I didn't notice much change from him aside from his feelings towards the MC that was occasionally told. Nonetheless, I appreciate his great understanding towards MC's career and choices.MC's brother. He did basically nothing but court death! He did not even understand his brother's sacrifices nor shown his brotherly love towards his brother.Too many "however"s and "after all"s in the translation. The story was properly conveyed but the repeated "however"s made my eye twitch. In fact, after a dozen times, I read this word as "but" to avoid extreme redundancy in my head. However, overall, the translator/s did a good job.Touched My Heart:Fans' slow acceptance to their idol's (MC) relationship. There were hates, but due to proper planning, they were gradually accepted by the society and that was so satisfying.MC's forgiveness to his parents. His parents were cruel and biased but at the end, they realized their mistakes. They were like that but the MC never hated them (though he's not foolish enough to forget). The author did not completely made them villains and that's sweet.New family and second chances. If I'm going to say more, I'll be spoiling things too much.Overall, it is a GREAT read that not only revolve in the dark side of entertainment industry but it also features friends, family, and MC's deserving rise to fame. Oh I like almost everything on this list as well!! If you haven't already, have you tried 'The Earth is Online'? I think it's one of those novels everyone recommends to people, so you may already have it on a reading list or something, but it's so good. It's really plot heavy. But if you want something fluffy and less serious, 'Tyrant Pampering Wife Diary' is very sweet. I just wanted to recommend these because I saw that we have similar tastes lol.

Hi! Just wanna say that I love this list. When i first saw it, I was shocked that it had all my favourite novels, including some that I recently start to like. Saw your review and damn. I could say my literature standard is pretty high too, so thank you for this list.

  I really, really want to read 2Ha already but it was still halfway being translated. My tissues, heart and everything are already prepared. It's just that I'm still deciding if I should read now then proceed with the MTL. Should I?
