While MC was reflecting on that and her past relationship with her husband, she travels back in time. This time, she resolves to figure out the truth and try to make their relationship work. It’s cute how awkward ML is and how his affection for MC unravel. One can only sigh in regret with how much misunderstandings the two had in the previous timeline. The development of their relationship in the new timeline is endearing and uncomplicated. Not much drama except for the ML’s family’s inheritance struggles. If you want a cute and pretty chill romance novel, go ahead and read. It’s rated quite highly for a reason. <<less

The first word that comes to mind when I think of this novel is: funny/entertaining. Extremely so. Sure, there are boring parts too but it doesn’t erase the fact that the novel is light hearted, cute, and funny overall. So the story begins when MC transmigrates into a novel where the body she occupies is married to a dull, unfeeling husband. She is then bound to a system who gives her two choices - either choose to change her character and ease her relationship with her husband or to continue the path of a vicious wife and divorce him. Ofcourse, for the plot, MC chooses the 2nd option. Author also says that because of MC’s... more>> personality of refusing to eat a loss, she’d rather pretend first then break free than suffer grievances. After all, she’s prejudiced against the ML since she knows how the ogOwner of her body is treated and how she ends up. System restricts her into a role of acting in love with her husband while being a vicious/domineering woman. System only issues such reminders though she didn’t really have missions to complete unlike others so system kind of just disappears/become irrelevant as the story progresses. MC goes on with her act until her husband can’t take it anymore and initiates a divorce. Okay now here’s the catch, just before they finalize the separation, ML suddenly hears the MC’s thoughts and realizes she isn’t what she seems to be on the outside. He’s infuriated by her thoughts especially when he figures out she can’t actually wait to divorce him. He decided to put off the divorce and figure out what his wife is up to. This then starts their cute and funny journey of falling in love. The translation is excellent so the FL’s thoughts are expressed really well to the readers. She always face slaps and scolds her husband without her knowing lol. She even manages to teach him for free how to identify fake white lotus btches through her thoughts haha. I admit this story has its imperfections but don’t be too discouraged by the bad reviews. This story deserves it’s 4 star rating for sure. If you like the tags and you’re intrigued by the summary, give it a try first then judge. If you read it without prejudice, you’ll enjoy it more.

-You’d notice that FL is actually a great enjoyer of beauty and I find nothing wrong with it. Even if she’s married, they are only so in paper so in her heart, she’s not in love. What’s more, she never actually cheats she just says she will never give up the entire forest for one tree lol. Keep in mind that she feels that the real her is restricted (by the system/because of ML) and she wants to break free from the marriage so she can do what she wants. Nonetheless, he’s determined to act appropriately while she’s married even when they’re not actually in love. And come on, let the ML suffer a little for his negligence towards his wife. I pity the ogOwner of the FL tbh. 

-ML is undeniably terrible at the beginning but from his perspective, he also has the right to find the marriage unsuitable/distasteful. His dislike towards the marriage though, shouldn’t have been pointed/blamed towards the MC. He apologizes for this too.

-MC’s vicious persona is actually just exaggerated by the media/people around her. She is only straightforward and fearless. She also never finds trouble with innocent people but retaliates fiercely towards those who mess with her. One of the reasons is that the system forces her to stay in character and the other is that she really would never just want to eat a loss. 

-MC and ML never owed each other anything. From the start, it was a loveless marriage until the system intervened. Everything they did was reasonable from their point of view although not without fault. It makes the characters come alive though.

All in all, this isn’t as terrible as others say. It’s an entertaining read. <<less

As everyone is pressuring them to get married, by some twist of fate, they meet at a blind date and got married lightning fast. From there, their journey to love is full of drama because of their exes. If you need dog-blood novel and mature love, you’ll like this one. Their relationship here can be said to be like the saying “first love never dies, but true love can bury it alive”. That’s because their exes (especially the ex of ML) are literally like roaches who never die but the couple still managed to cultivate their feelings and strengthen their marital life. I’m quite satisfied with how the story is written. This story made me cry, laugh, and fall in love along with the characters. It isn’t perfect ofcourse but nothing big that could make you disdain it as long as the tags are within your preferences. It isn’t completely translated but the last few chapters are pretty easy to MTL.  <<less

Their wounds are relatively more fresh and they’re both victims of one-sided love so it could have been great if the timeline was extended or something. It’s still HE though I wasn’t satisfied by how rushed it was. In a nutshell, this sequel is good but it could’ve been better. MTL is comprehensible enough, more than others. <<less

If you like the trope where FL dumps the scum ex and meets new love then this is for you. FL has been in a relationship with her male for 10 years. She was the one who chased him and despite the length of their relationship, he never seems to open his heart and treats her coldly. Everything comes to a tipping point when the boyfriend’s white moonlight enters the picture. This was the FL’s last straw and she realizes she’ll never be as important to him and he was to her so she breaks up with him. A year or so later, her mother (who remarried a wealthy man with a daughter who always... more>> antagonizes her) asks her to substitute for her step-sister’s marriage. This is where she meets ML. They then fall in love as their relationship progresses and ofcourse the scum ex realizes her worth at this time so he wants her back. The drama here is mainly: interference of past/ex and scheming step sister. Not the best out there but a pretty good read all in all. I’ll include some additional thoughts down below.

So for people who claim that the ML is awful, I beg to disagree. Yes, he did some manipulations but were they harmful to MC? Did he break the law? No. He just triggered a domino effect tbh. And if he did not interfere, you think the scum ex will wake up from his s*upidity? The FL is ML’s first love and means a lot to him. He was simply unresigned and before letting her go, he decided to test whether the boyfriend (now, ex) truly deserves/loves the FL. So he had his secretary talk about a certain wealthy man (ex-husband of the white moonlight) to a girl the secretary is hooking up with. He never did anything directly. His secretary only mentioned a few words to the (secretary’s) little lover and everything from then on went according to the decisions of the involved parties. He never forced/bribed anyone. He or his secretary never even introduced that wealthy man to the little lover, secretary just mentioned it to her and the little lover went after that wealthy man. You may argue that they knew the little lover’s character but that’s the point of the test. It started from there. Just break one link and the entire scheme will fail so how could the fault lie on the ML alone? He just had his scretary subtly hint on someone. Would that be effective if the other parties weren’t greedy though? No. That little lover hooked up with the abusive ex-husband of the white moonlight. White moonlight and ex-husband gets divorced so she turns to the FL’s ex-boyfriend for help. This is all a result of the decisions of the involved parties take note. Now this is where the test comes in. If the ex-boyfriend simply helped out financially and distanced himself, he wouldn’t have broken up with the FL. But what did he do? He allowed the white moonlight green tea btch to ruin his relationship, he took the FL’s feelings for granted, and when she broke up with him he still thought she’d come back anyway. He’s simply a wishy washy tr*sh guy. Who would want a man who’s at the beck and call of another woman on the premise that he’s indebted to her? Sir, you have a girlfriend and you can pay back your debt in another way. In the end, the ex-boyfriend has no one else to blame but himself. He allowed such things to happen because he didn’t value the FL enough. I think it’s a good thing the ML did this though. It saved the FL from that relationship. At that point, scum ex was simply giving her the cold shoulder and couldn’t decide what he wants. He lets his white moonlight cling to him and he’s even happy to be a cheap dad. Imagine if ML didn’t test him, the relationship would have remained stale/at a dead lock and FL will keep feeling unloved. I also bet it’s highly probable for the white lotus btch to still interfere in the relationship one day because it was only a matter of time for her abusive ex-husband to cheat. By then, FL would be more hurt because they’d have been in a relationship for far longer but the ex-boyfriend would do the same thing. You see, the root cause of everything isn’t the scheme but the people involved themselves. I’d rather choose the scheming ML because he knows what he wants and treats the FL very well. I admit it’s creepy that he has tracked FL all these years but he never got close at least or harmed her. He’s just a boy who lacks warmth and FL has a special place in his heart so I understand his obsession but I don’t condone his action. His little manipulation though I agree with because tr*sh ex doesn’t deserve the FL. Isn’t FL also happy with him? Did she regret it? Did she blame ML? No. ML makes the FL happy and feel loved and will do so for the rest of her life. No more tears, no more hurt in exchange for that one subtle manipulation. Moreover, ML knows he isn’t a good person and is so scared the FL will leave him because of it so he tries his best to be good to her. FL eventually discovers this side of him and assures him though. In conclusion, I’m still on the ML’s side. ^^ <<less

Basically ogML will inherit all of his hardwork supposedly but because of the system, he gets to live longer. From then on, he depends on his nominal wife to survive and this leads to them falling in love. This story isn’t original in a sense that you could find the tropes and the plot very common in CN novels but since it’s the ML this time who has to fulfill missions, it’s still a pretty fun read.  <<less

This is a good choice of novel if you need something that will hurt you/make you cry but will also make you laugh. Except you can’t expect too much in the romance part. Don’t be fooled by the rating, because of the MC/FL, this novel is still a great reading experience. I agree with one of the reviews that the reason this has low ratings is because of the romance/tr*sh love interests. But if you’re not focused on that, everything else is cool. Once she realized the truth, that she was merely a cannon fodder to bring ogML and ogFL together, she immediately kicked her good-for-nothing husband to the curb and focused on her career. She’s so sassy, brilliant, funny, passionate, and strong. I was really invested in her journey to stardom and I enjoyed every moment of it. She had lived a tragic life — too sad that you can’t help but cry for her and wish you could punish all those who hurt her. Throughout the novel, there was never a day she didn’t suffer. It was to the point I wanted to just transmigrate the MC to another world where she can be happy and free. What even did she do so wrong? She just loved the wrong man and she loved too deeply. This girl only wanted to be loved back but what did they all do? All those rich second generation young masters were all ensnared by that witch sister into bullying the MC and killing her slowly inside. The parents aren’t any better, not even treating her as a human. It wasn’t also clear whether this was all ognovel’s plot’s influence as the ogFL’s halo seemed to have disappeared when MC learned about the book’s story. I was also familiar with how c-ent, fan groups, and weibo works so I enjoyed the novel/MC even more it’s just too funny. I was really rooting for ruan tian, she’s my baby too. I read the entire novel because I wanted to see tianbaby trample on all the people who made her life miserable. I cheer everytime she faceslaps all those white lotus btches and her anti-fans. This novel really will be lackluster without the MC.All the candidates for the male lead in this story, on the other hand, are sick in head. They all have dirty water in their brains so don’t invest your feelings in the romance department lest you get disappointed. It’s a bully romance. Strictly speaking, not one of those scum men deserve Ruan Tian. All of them need to go to therapy. Just treat them as comic relief, people who MC can choke with her words and actions lol.From the words of ruan tian’s friend: “RuanTian must have some sort of unlucky physique. The men around her were all a bunch of demons and lunatics, not one normal one among the bunch.”

It’s Qin Yu. What can we do, this is a bully novel. At least she didn’t end up remarrying her sorry excuse of a ex-husband. Otherwise, I would have flipped all the tables at home. QY actually has been chasing and loving MC for years but he loved her in the most distorted/unhealthy possible way ever.As crazy as Qin Yu is, you can’t deny that his feelings for RT are genuine. It’s just that his love is twisted. He didn’t know how to express it and ended up traumatizing his beloved — bullied her to get her attention and clipper her wings to force her to depend on him. He loved in a way that’s too childish and horribly wrong. If he had instead supported MC and given her warmth when Shen Shu had been hurting RT again and again, he would have immediately stood a chance once RT got over SS. Well at least he realized his s*upid mistakes and apologized properly even if it took too long lol. Not that I’m defending his actions but when you think about it from his perspective, he had also gone through a lot. For him, he had merely loved the MC and yearned for her to look his way even a bit. He was so engulfed by jealousy, resentment, and obsession that he didn’t realize he’s already using the wrong methods — hurting his love and pushing her away. Meanwhile, we can’t deny that he indeed loved RT since he met her. He loved her even when he watched her chase another man relentlessly, spend a night with him despite his efforts to keep MC safe from the scheme, and get married to that same man. Even after so many years, he never wavered and loved only her. As twisted as his actions were, he did try to save MC multiple times. He may be a psycho but he did say he didn’t mean to harm her. I really don’t approve of his previous manipulations and deeds though. Still, he acknowledged that he f*cked up/that he acted like a tortured lunatic and tried to be better (he was still failing miserably at being normal til the end though imo lol). Now that we have no choice and they had ended up together, Qin Yu has to treat RT like a queen for the rest of his dog life to make it up to her. The silver lining here is that this dog man qin yu has a wonderful mom who cares deeply for our mc. Ruan Tian scored the best mother-in-law at least.

Shen Shu

Now this is the man I hate the most. The trauma he gave RT isn’t any less than what Qin Yu gave. He’s just a straight up scum who doesn’t know what he wants. He’s a contradictory mess. One moment he says he didn’t like RT in HS but then during his monologue he’d say he was just too stubborn to admit that she was special to him like boooo stfu. He was clearly into the white lotus btch sister and the sudden flip in attitude after MC agreed to divorce him is just weird af. He disdained the MC yet deep inside his demon heart, he enjoyed MC’s chase. So dmbfounded by the fact that he crucified MC because of that one night stand but towards the end we realize that the MC was the one who was drugged? And he embraced her even while knowing she isn’t in the right state of mind? But he kept acting like he was the victim and made MC suffer and never spared any human decency during their entire marriage. I’m still speechless at the fact that til the end he never gave his ex-wife alimony. D*mn b*stard. I really wanted to see him kneel and ugly cry in front of MC. Well at least he pines for her but couldn’t get her back anymore. Until the end I really hate this man. Scratch that, is he even a man? No, he’s simply tr*sh. He deserves all the worst things in life this mf. I’m really happy he and MC never got back together because this garbage needs to wallow in regret and spend the rest of his life in utter despair. 

Shao Chengyue 

He is actually the only person/love interest who is not a psychopath in the novel. He’s the candidate I was rooting for! Especially when he asked if she liked stars (her alt weibo account name is related to stars) and sent her photos of starry night skies. If RT had to end up with someone, I wanted it to be him. He seemed to like MC but didn’t pursue her though and they remained friends. I felt like he could be considerate and gentle to the FL who already suffered enough. This is the only man that actually respected her from beginning to the end. Too bad the author’s favorite color is red so this boy never stood a chance. 

Huai Mo

I see a lot of people saying he is the best match for the MC but I beg to differ. He’s definitely not any less creepier than the others. He’s a straight up mu*derer ffs. He’s not giving me vibes that the MC can be safe and happy with him all her life because his feelings could change any moment as he might not even be really in love — he’s only looking for warmth. He also keeps pretending to be cute and innocent all the time in front of RT when he’s not. Not to mention MC really only considers him as a younger brother. If you’re into yandere boys, you’d like him though. But he seems to want to respect and treat RT well at least, I’d give him that. 

Qin An

This boy was mainly there for the comedy. He would have been a great candidate too but I really was just getting sibling vibes from MC and him. They’re cute when they bicker. His attitude was horrible at the beginning but he eventually realized he was wrong and prejudiced towards the MC. He was at least normal though so I wouldn’t have complained if he ended up with RT. Unfortunately, he’s doomed to be only a brother-in-law. Not that the MC and him were romantically attracted to each other anyway.

Xu Jing

He was the next scum introduced after the ex-husband. Also one of the admirers of the white lotus sister. He didn’t get much exposure towards the end but he is also one of the bullies. It wasn’t clear if he got over his infatuation with ZX, but he did see MC in a new light and paid more attention to her. They didn’t have a lot of interactions though aside from the few variety show filming. Anyway I don’t like this guy either.

I only wish the author expounded on some other matters for example, how much did the ogNovel influence the characters’ actions and feelings and stuff. It seemed like a hundred or so chapters wasn’t enough, it was quite rushed towards the end. I wanted to read more about MC’s career too.  <<less

I love the ML’s frivolous yet cool personality and the FL’s big sister aura. Others say it’s boring but I think not. It’s just that there isn’t too much drama because of how the ML and FL handle their relationship. Novel is pretty chill and simple but still good. I only hope the transmigration aspect was expounded more. This is where I saw a lot of loopholes, but romance-wise this is a good read.  <<less

Another novel you can try if you like to read novels where scum exes are dumped and FL meets someone new. She really said, “I like you but you aren’t all that.” FL is a girl boss but that’s her facade. The only person who can crack that and let her be her unrestrained self is ironically her archenemy — the ML. So they’re HS classmates and they basically didn’t get along. ML is arrogant and always loves getting on her nerves. Little did she know this is because he has loved her all along and he’s too s*upid to express his affections. He could only pester her to get her attention like a kindergarten... more>> boy pulling her crush’s pigtails lol. (Note: her never bullied her to the extreme or harmed her. At worst, he only made her mad and sick of him lol) Okay so the starting point of their love story is when the FL’s fiancee runs to his ex-gf (also, FL’s cousin) which results in him skipping on the wedding. FL then recruits the ML to be the new groom because she absolutely would not allow her family to lose face. This is not an original premise and a lot of novels has this trope but i’m a sucker for it so I still liked this story. I’m just glad FL found her safe space in ML’s company and that they’re happy. A good read overall. Additional thoughts with spoilers below.

Okay for all the ex-fiancee defenders, please clear your heads. He’s an awful lover. I really don’t agree that he was too abused in the novel because he reaps what he sows. Somebody like him who brushes off his gf’s feelings to care for another girl isn’t bad enough for you? I’m just glad FL is a decisive person and once her bottom line has been crossed, she’s merciless. The bstard ex bf went to run off to the his ex gf and went to the hot search on his wedding day. But what does he do? He blames his gf for not being magnanimous enough and he believes gf would never leave him. Glad a bucket of cold water was dumped on this dog man’s head once he came back and found out the FL is now married though. Anyway, I hate this kind of men the most. The type (common in CN novels tbh) who remains oblivious to the green tea btch’s schemes to ruin his relationship. Like dude you’re seriously that s*upid? And you’re supposed to be a CEO? Lmao. QJ (ex) is simply a dumb and selfish prick. Always wanting and believing that things will go his way. Quite similar to the ex of the FL in get rid of the male god. So apparently, QJ’s affections for the green tea btch’s grandma makes him unable to let go since he has to honor his promise. Okay that’s fine but do you really have to hurt your current gf because of that? You really have to make the green tea btch dependent on you and so wayward because she knows you’ll always indulge her? He’s simply a fool. Who could stomach a man who runs to another woman’s side after just a word? I’m glad Yinyin is sensible and she knows that her ex boyfriend is the problem so she decisively broke things off with him. Even if there were misunderstandings — i.e the truth behind his relationship with the green tea btch, did he ever explain that to the FL? No, he never came clean until the time he already lost her. I also think yinyin’s feelings for him aren’t that deep to begin with. It started from him being a role model to her then she appreciated his kindness and liked him but she never chased after him. She only gave him a chance because of the jade buddha which was also a misunderstanding. 

Now onto the ML. I love his c*cky personality. He’s a tsundere but his feelings for MC are genuine. He loved her for a long time but he’s a s*upid boy who can’t express his feelings well. He also did a lot of things for her without her knowing. They never had the appropriate timing so he employed a little trick. Like the ML from get rid of the male god, the scheme was manipulative but harmless to the MC. It just served as a test on the relationship of the FL and her ex. Once they got together though he treated her well and loved her. Even FL said she realized that she never really fell deeply in love until she got together with ML. Anyway, so ML mainly did two things — one: helped scum ex’s competitor in their family so that he and FL can return to china and two: helped with trending hot searches regarding the little things happening between the fake white lotus cousin and FL’s ex. Tbh, all of these could have been avoided if QJ himself isn’t problematic. Instead of distancing himself from the cousin, he indulges her and even prioritizes her. He blames FL and doesn’t consider her feelings at all. And he only realizes his loss once FL left him. What would have happened if FL didn’t leave then? As long as the white lotus cousin exists, there will always be a thorn in their relationship. Even if they didn’t return, who can guarantee that the cousin wouldn’t go there to disrupt them? Given her character and obsession with the ex, it’s highly possible. And regarding the hot search, come on if QJ really wanted to he could’ve taken them down. Despite ML’s machinations, it’s just spending some money anyway. But what did ex do? He allowed his childhood friend (someone who seem to like the green tea btch) brainwash him that such scandals are helpful to FL’s cousin’s career. In short, QJ never really bothered. So all I can say is that with or without ML’s manipulation, the ex is the problem so the relationship would have still broken down at some point. I’m just glad ML saved the FL on time and took her to his side. He never forced MC to fall in love with him too so I really don’t mind his little tricks. He’s very protective and supportive of the MC too. With regards to people saying MC forgave him too quickly — I actually don’t think that’s an issue. MC is pretty level headed. If I could think of the reasons above, pretty sure she did too. It’s just not because she liked him but because she thinks it’s simply irrelevant. One, things have already happened and two, the main problem was never the ML’s machinations in the first place. Also, I think author is simply rushing tha/ why that part isn’t expounded on that much. Lol. Anyway! Don’t listen to people saying this is tr*sh. For a modern romance novel, this is one of the good ones out there. <<less

This is my first time reading a YXDY novel in modern setting and I wasn’t disappointed. I love the works of this author including this one. From MC’s comeback, healing, and growth. To the retribution faced by those who harmed her and her loving relationship with the ML. I loved those points. MC may be OP but meh i’ve seen worse. I agree with the rating of this novel.  <<less

So much so I want one for myself too. Okay so our MC, she was 13 at the beginning of the story, fell in love at first sight with her brother’s friend. Said crush is 7 years older than her. This becomes her little secret until they get together. This story has little to no drama and mainly revolves around how the relationship of the two protagonists developed. FL may seem childish or immature at times (esp at the beginning) but since she’s so young I was never really bothered. That’s why I also approve of her having an older and mature lover. Anyway! This started with pure/innocent crush. ML wasn’t romantically interested in the FL while she was underage while FL never really saw him as a brother because she was attracted to him right after they first met. Anyway they’re cute and there are lots of fluff that got me feeling so giddy. Relaxing read.  <<less

FL owns a scented candle making shop and is wealthy. ML, due to his complicated family matters, had to take the position of a bread winner and work tirelessly as a food delivery worker. Contrary to the title, I think the FL fell in love with the ML quite fast. That’s because FL is actually decisive and dgaf about other people’s opinions about her matters. I like that about her. The aloof boss btch vibes of hers is attractive to me. She’s a good match for the ML who, as a victim of circumstances, suffers from low self-esteem. ML is also a green flag imo. The only major drama plot point is the ML’s family situation/mother. The author even mentioned some people threatened to drop the novel because of the mother so she didn’t prolong the arc about that. I also have complicated feelings towards the mother tbh. I know I can’t blame her for her illness but I really can’t bring myself to agree with her decisions. With that said, the drama still isn’t heavy especially if compared to other novels. ML and FL’s love is sweet and pleasing to read. At first, I was hesitating to read it despite the high ratings but I don’t regret it. It was a satisfying break from dog blood novels.   <<less

I am once again reading the cliche novel with a trope of transmigrating into a novel cannon fodder’s body and changing things up then falls in love with a handsome CEO as a result. I love these things esp face slapping white lotus btches, sue me. Anyway, I really couldn’t endure reading the MTL further so I’m gonna wait for the beloved translator to finish before I continue. So far though, I enjoyed reading all the translated chapters. <<less

MC isn’t hell bent on revenge so there are no dramatic face slapping — though she always gets the upper hand when someone comes looking for trouble. This novel is focused more on MC’s growth, school life, and family issues. Romance is concentrated more on the latter half and it had potential but it wasn’t explored enough sadly. I’m a sucker for ‘destined lovers/soul mates’ trope, sue me. Anyway, so MC’s father is the root of all the disaster MC went through and I feel like he didn’t get the retribution he deserved. I wanted him to suffer terribly. At least MC gave up on him entirely in her second life so she was able to live satisfactorily. The kids are innocent so I won’t comment on her half siblings.   <<less

MC strives to change the fate of them mother and son while giving love and care to the cute bun. Unbeknownst to her, her son is someone who was reborn. This novel details mostly how the family of three, including ML, was completed.

I honestly did not expect this to be such a decent read. Plot isn’t anything groundbreaking but it delivered what it was supposed to. Faceslapping moments were satisfying and scenes with the fam are heartwarming and funny. Romance is okay, not the main focus though. My heart aches for the past of the son and MC so I completely understand his fears and issues. The son made my cry multiple times esp when he was just a smol bean. Others say he’s too childish for someone who is reborn but we must remember that (1) he has trauma and psychological wounds that he had to overcome on top of having a lack of familial affection which resulted to him being clingy to his mom and a tendency to letting out his inner child (2) he had a very rough childhood so when he had a second chance, he cherished it to make up for his lonely childhood (3) he never experienced being pampered and having parents so why can’t he be willful this time? why can’t he be immature at times? (4) he had to act his age to avoid people being suspicious of him
