If I had to describe it shortly, it would be fantasy infrastructure! The protagonist, Xu Sili, is an singer who is terminally ill. He doesn't have long to live. And so, before his death, he decided to invest all of his property into the development of an advanced holographic game. That is, that his favorite game character, Si Sheng, from a mobile card game app (where players raise card characters as the story progresses) is brought into the game with him.

The novel starts off a bit slow. The MC and ML are seemingly at opposite sides from the very beginning, but that doesn't last long. Though various misunderstandings and lack of communication causes much drama between the two and extends the romance development a bit - making a proper slow burn!

Ah, but back to the description: Fantasy Instructure. LOLOL. As the Emperor of this new game world, the MC has to prepare for many things. But, most importantly, it's the participation of the "Players" from the real world. He has to prep their beginner 'start village' planet into something that the Players will be hesitant to leave behind -- which prompts lots of infrastructure development!

I love that kind of thing, but I understand that there may be some people who don't agree and would prefer a faster, action-centric fantasy novel. There is a little bit of action here, but the story is still mostly focused on the infrastructure development! That being the case, I still recommend the novel for the setting and the worldbuilding! It's quite unique~ I'm currently working on a sci-fi original work with similar settings, so this proved to be very inspiring for me. For that reason, I may be a bit biased, but I consider this a fave!

IMPORTANT NOTE: The TL is incomplete but the MTL is approximately 75% readable. The names are a bit annoying (since their Western Names translated to Chinese and then translated back to English DX) but once you get the gist of them, the rest of the text is easy enough to understand. Usually, MTL makes me give up after 100-200 or so chapters, but I persisted to the end this time! <<less

4.5/5!!! [Modern Day, Fantasy, Game Elements, System Administrator, Virtual Romance] Not what I was expecting, but it didn't disappoint! I can see why this is so highly rated now. I avoided it for the longest time because the summary was a bit... uhhh all over the place, i guess? I just didn't understand it DX If you're like me and you're hesitating because of the summary or something else, I can confidently say that you will probably end up liking this novel more than what you're expecting! It's the kind of character-driven novel that you rarely see in Danmei groups -- one with a driving theme that makes the story stand out with its own... more>> message~ A must read! As for the premise... In this novel, the protagonist, Li Shuoxing is an author known for being very flaky (struggles to keep up with updates and the likes). We catch him just before he releases his newest book and finishes the old one. He's in a bit of a slump, but luckily for him, a pretty magical "love nurturing app" suddenly installs itself on his phone. There, he meets a pretty realistic, tsundere chibi called Su Mingqian (ML). While working on his new book and falling in love, he proceeds to unravel the mystery behind the app and his new little lover. <<less

More specifically, you have to like infrastructure and farming XD. The tone is similar to the BL novel "Sand Sculpture Demon King" the one where the MC transmigrates in a western fantasy world as a demon king with his smart phone and starts to transport modern culture to enlighten the people of that world. Only, the things transported are different. Here, the MC transports ancient Chinese culture, food culture, and farming know-how by building a game focused on agriculture.It's surprisingly fun. You get to see the MC updating the game slowly — which is the focus of the story. As for the other things. It's not as good. The characters are mostly simple. At least, they don't go through tempering or extreme character development. They just live their life smoothly. Without any real conflicts or growth. As for romance … DX don't expect too much!! The romance here is sooooo basic that it pretty much has no reason to exist. The falling in love step is skipped directly or, at least, is not given enough development to be very realistic. It always feels like it came out of nowhere, so I didn't care much about it.My real goal in reading this till the end is seeing the completed version of the game — which was not bad. Kinda wish there was more game-building content, even, since there were a couple of loose ends here and there. And it seems like the game has a lot of room for growth. If I rated the novel based on the game aspect alone, I would give it a 5 star rating XD. BUT, as it stands. Ignoring my usual criteria for rating (character, romance, setting, and premise). It's relatively simple at first. Just a blank empty village with an NPC to hand out tasks for clearing wasteland and building a simple hut. The purpose of the game is to introduce the leisurely farming life to the interstellar people.He has no big goals. He just has no other way of planting at the moment. And he needs to plant in order to collect spiritual energy. In the end, the game he made becomes the best source of the energy he needs to cultivate. So he focuses his attention on the game more. Adding updates whenever he gets an idea, and, by the way, making money so that more people can play his game and give him star coins and spiritual energy.(As for the ML, he's the great admiral of the empire. He's suffering from a genetic collapse that has reverted him back to his kitty form and was picked up by the MC to be a pet and helper. Later, after he's brought to the game by the MC, the ML gains consciousness. But he doesn't remember being a kitty. So shenanigans with identity ensue. It's all very simple. Cute, but don't expect too much!!! <<less

3.44/5!!! [Second Chance, Fantasy, Game Elements, Apocalypse: Zombies] This novel is quite good if you like apocalypse novels and infrastructure novels. This focuses more on the latter, you know, slowly building up a city that can fight against the apocalypse. BUT!!! Not in the usual way. It’s truly a mysterious, black-box system that works very similarly to those popular infrastructure games XD. The quality of the story itself can only be said to be subpar, the characters aren’t all that interesting and the drama is petty at best. However, if the infrastructure is to your taste, this should be pretty normal for you!... more>>

SUMMARY: The MC of this story, Song Xingcheng, wakes up on the day of the apocalypse with a head full of novel content. According to this novel content, he was bound to be used and abandoned by the guy that he had a crush on. Of course, he wants nothing to do with any of it. He decides to adjust himself based on the mistakes he made in his dream. Which starts with exploring his cheat first (a game panel that enables him to slowly build and upgrade a city) and then teams up with the ML (He Qiashen), who incidentally also woke up with a cheat and novel content on the first day of the apocalypse. Working together, the two slowly build a city that can act as a reprieve for the people of their country.

THOUGHTS: Although fun, the story is quite flawed. The MC’s cheat was too cheat-y. To the point that it restricted the future of humans rather than helped it. I thought it was cool at first, but more and more, it became evident that it blocked the progress of humans. (Actually, this reminds me of another novel, a BG one called “Apocalypse Lord”, that one had the MC as a City Lord as well. I prefer that one though because the setting made more sense. It was an actual game in the end, so the city that was built without sustainability in mind was logical. As for here, I had to work hard to ignore it so that I can enjoy infrastructure T.T.) My recommendation, if you’re going to read this, try to not to have expectations XD. Just go into it believing it’s all a game. That way, the process may be a little smoother.

BUT OK. Enough about the cheat, there are the characters as well. TBH, I don’t like the MC that much. The ML was fine, but he was also a bit boring. Their romance was also a bit bland since the ML was pretty much all in from the beginning. So yah. Don’t read this thinking that the characters or the romance will make up for the world settings being flawed LOLOL. By saying all this, I make the story sound like it’s very bad. But the truth of the matter is, I enjoyed it quite a bit! I looooove infrastructure stories. And no matter how flawed they get, I can’t help but feel satisfied reading them. If you’re the same, then there should be no problem with trying out this story. If not, then I suggest you stay far away pfft! As for my rating, the TL is currently unfinished and I read it mostly in MTL. Usually, I won’t give a rating but this time, the MTL was surprisingly readable (80-85%). So my official rating is …. 3.44/5!!! Looks low. That’s because, content-wise, this is really a problematic story XD. Most of the points are based on personal enjoyment. <<less

3.12/5!!! [Transmigration, Game Elements, Historical: Primitive Society, Clan-building] This novel isn’t bad, but I was expecting more Infrastructure-building. In the end, it was more about clan-building, which is not so different, but also means there’s a lot more drama involved. I ended up not finishing the novel cause I could tell that the ending would be rushed and didn’t want to be disappointed LOL. My current opinion is that the novel is a good read if you’re interested in novels with “game elements” and “primitive/tribal” environments.... more>>

Theres is a focus in the romance here as well, though it’s admittedly a little clumsy (complete with the typical straight-guy!shou and the silent-and-stoic!gong.) I wish there was more details about the game elements and the infrastructure T.T as it is, I only got hints of that. Though that may also be the fault of the MTL. The TL quality is good but the MTL is only 65-70% readable. If I had to give this a rating now... I would give it somewhere between 3.12-3.3 out of 5 rating. Either way, it would be a 3-Star Novel for me. I’m not doing a full review because a large chunk of the story was read in MTL, and I can’t say for sure whether my impression is wrong based on misunderstandings T.T <<less

???/5!!! [Fantasy, Slice of Life, Game Elements, Farming] I read most of it! This isn’t really my kind of novel, it’s short and sweet (which is the opposite of what I usually like) so it’s pretty normal for me not to finish it. However, as a casual read after a long epic novel that was 800 chapters long, I found this simple experience rather refreshing! If you’re looking for a similar kind of experience, I highly recommend that you try it out! The novel is... Well, it’s a bit hard to summarize *thinkingface*. One can say it’s the MC playing a farming or rural living simulator? He gets points and stuff for working around the... more>> home, basically. So the Game Elements are quite literal. There’s also a wife simulator aspect involved LOLOL. The MC is stuck with a Hero who quickly adapts to being an old, doting Seme. And later down the line, I assume there’s a childcare simulation aspect too, since there’s MPREG.

All in all, an okay read in my eyes. I’m not giving it an official rating cause it’s not really my type of novel and giving it a rating feels wrong LOL since it would be biased. Based on personal enjoyment though, I think this would be a 3/5 for me. <<less

???/5!!! [Survival, Infinite Flow, Supernatural] This is indeed a great read, and it has a relatively low threshold of acceptance too! I mean, a lot of unlimited flow novels have horror or suspense themes. And it might be a bit too hair-raising for the less brave (LIKE ME xD). With his novel, the horror themes are kept at a minimum (only the first arc truly had ghosts and the like, though there were also some instances that were a little creepy later.)... more>>

Summary: The MC (Xing Ye) discovered that his brother had died unnaturally. And, while he was investigating the cause of his death, he ended up being dragged into a separate space through a QR code. This separate space is a virtual game world (the person's consciousness is dragged in but their body stays outside and no time passes in between), and the task of all players is to find the true endings of all the different instances and make it to the Final Level. During the MC's very first instance, he meets a cute and mysterious Mirror (the ML) that he takes with him along the way.

When it comes to the characters, I think the author did the best! Not only is the cast varied, but they also all have their complexities without dragging down the plot. The romance is a little strange because one is considered a prop while the other is a player, but the author does it pretty well and builds the relationship slowly. As for the setting, I thought it was quite unique! Of course, there are a lot of similar unlimited flow novels out there, but there are several key elements in this one that I don't see often in other novels.

As always, because I read most of this novel through MTL (which is abut 70% readable -- it gets a bit miserable because the MC's strategic analysis doesn't translate all that well, but I bore through it T.T) I won't be giving this a full review despite having finished it. I will give it a star rating though! In my eyes, this novel will undoubtedly be worth 4.50-5 stars. After all, I read it all the way through despite the messy MTL. If you're interested, I suggest trying it out now! It's really only certain parts of the MTL that are not comprehensible. And, if you have a good enough understanding of the plot and instances, it's not too difficult to make sense of those parts. OH, btw. The first two or three chapters of this novel are really awkward. LMFAO I almost quit because of that, but luckily I persisted!  <<less

I think that the world is very detailed and there seemed to have been a lot of attention paid on setting it up properly, but I always feel like there are gaps. This is not the fault of the story, but mostly on the fact that my comprehension began to slip by a LOT after all the action LMFAO. I thought this would be like your typical infinite flow novel. Fast-paced and focused on problem-solving. However, it ended up being more action-based than anything. OK, idk if I'm making any sense, so let's go with the summary first.... more>>

Summary: The novel starts like your typical infinite flow novel. The MC, Bai Lu, is dragged into a game world inexplicably and is forced into an instance where he has to solve puzzles, fight baddies, etc. in order to survive. The tone of the novel is very mature, but it's not completely dark. I mean, in most infinite flow novels, the situation seems to be hopeless for most people. But, here, players can directly watch others clear instances and make use of that knowledge to clear the instance themselves. Like this, we also get to see the reactions of the older players to Bai Lu's style of playing --- which is heavy on surprise tactics that seems to have been thought of as soon as he had entered the game.

I don't particularly mind that the MC is OP, but others might XD It's true that he's a bit too all-knowing. And that there doesn't seem to be much tension in the instance themselves. It's more like a playground that the MC casually strolls around on as he gets into conflict with other players and guilds. (I don't dislike this concept, to be honest. It means that you get to truly know the characters here, at least, but yeh, it's a bit weird.) The side characters, especially, don't feel like side-characters at all. The author gives each of them a complex background so that they can stand steadily throughout the story and not just fade away like in most other infinite flow novels (where the MC's team is just casually watching him clear instances lol.)

ANYWAY, I won't be doing a full review on this novel cause I didn't make it halfway. The untranslated half (after RM's translation) it was really not easy to read -- so I gave up mostly for this reason. My current impression though... well, how to say it? I think that it's interesting and worth taking a look into, but it's also a little bit of a bog sometimes. I'm not someone who likes action all that much, so I guess this makes sense. If that's more your style, you should enjoy this story more than I did. I won't be giving this novel a rating either because of the reason mentioned above! However, my preliminary rating would be around 3.75-4.25 stars out of five. Not bad all in all, a better than average read, at the very least! But, perhaps not my kind of story in the end. <<less
