Well-written leads, CP chemistry, and exploration of generational abuse & trauma. Unfortunately Priest's overly ambitious plot suffers from too much "tell and no show" and an overload of characters (QJJ was nowhere near this confusing) which made the last book rather unenjoyable. Jiang Zi Bei's strength is her sense of humor and she really delivers on that front. What I didn't expect was knives from beibei. They hurt! But luckily it's a HE. Didn't feel the chemistry between the cp and had a really difficult time picturing them for some reason. The romance is a slowwwburn and ML is constantly yelling at MC in the beginning, which I didn't mind, but is going to be a turn off for some.... more>>

Despite the above, it was an easy, engrossing read and I enjoyed all the characters. Fascinating to learn about some of the inner mechanisms of the film/tv industry. Also, Feitian delivers with the smut! Though there is one weird line I will never be able to forget...lol.

Story follows two gangsters renowned locally for their brawling ability AKA "gold class fighters"—rivals turned brothers who spend most of their time together. The story goes through phases of MC and ML's lives and personally I think it drags for a bit too long. Considering the gang setting, I also spent the whole time waiting for something terrible and angsty to happen. But this is a good one, recommended!
