 The MC has an apathetic and cautious personality that somewhat resembles a cat (true to her name Maomao).  ML is a complete masochist and I have evidence ur honor.  This novel focuses very much on the mystery side of things rather than romance, so this is a VERY SLOW burn.  There’s a manga as well and the art is just CHEFS KISS -3- <<less

10/10 *slight spoiler* Id like the MC to violently step on me.  I like this novel because u rarely see such a nice balance between a manipulative girl boss and great friend to have around.  MC does not get together with any of the guys that her sister has influenced which is great because they all suck.  Most characters here are well fleshed out and u can rlly see how they all became how they are.  I think the most interesting character after MC is her twin sister who is kind of the “villain” of the story.  However her upbringing by her biased parents plays a huge role in how she treats/expects to be treated... more>> by the people around her.  I think the true villains are the MC’s parents since they are kinda the root cause of all of this.  

Another thing about this that I like is how many strong female characters there are aside from MC.  For example, Li Xiaoxing’s sister and Zhang Ning.  They have their own ambitions and lives and were not pushed aside to their own love interest. Instead they stayed single until the end of the book which I found quite refreshing since a lot of the times, side characters are coupled together for whatever reason.  <<less

10/10 At first I thought I wouldn’t like this based on the synopsis but I decided to try it out anyway.  Oh boy was I blown away.  MC does not meet the ML right away, in fact, they won’t be meeting for a while.  This only gives more space for current characters to get fleshed out.  MC is a beauty and it’s mentioned every other chapter which I found annoying.  However, her beauty plays an important role in the plot.  The thing I love the most is MC’s relationship with her brother(s).  It was so heartwarming to read about them and their journeys.  It was a very well written “big bro spoils cute lil sis”... more>> trope.  I think there’s also a tad bit of tragedy mixed in with all her relationships bc I cri. There is palace intrigue but it’s not the typical MC vs stepmom/concubine or half sis.  Rather the palace intrigue comes from politics and her own circumstances.  

*slight spoiler*I also found it so interesting that the crown prince’s consort is remarried.  You don’t typically see a lot of remarried crown princess consorts bc a lot of novels put emphasis on chastity of high position females.  However remarriage of a high status women (especially those with a powerful natal family) do exist in real life since their existence is for making political ties and have very little to do with their “purity”.  <<less

10/10 the amount of fanart I consumed during my peak ORV period is ABYSMAL.  MC may seem very ordinary at first but just u wait.  He’s like that one shy friend that gradually opens up over time.  No romance but yoohankim lives rent free in my head at all times.  You will get attached to characters and you might cry.  Plot and lore will just keep expanding until it gets a little confusing but it’s worth it.  I have ~100 chapters left but I’m saving it bc I don’t want it to be over ;-;  ... more>>

10/10 *slight spoiler* One of the best slice of life there is.  It is age progression so we spend half the novel on her childhood (which in my opinion was the best part of the entire novel) and the other half on her married life (which isn’t completely translated yet).  The MC is transmigrated into a little girl who is in dire straits.  From there, she doesn’t really seek revenge or anything, instead the hilarious thing is that she got the courage to live after seeing her shu mother’s white lotus act.  MC is really lowkey and I like how realistic her relationships with her sisters are.  Rulan is spoiled and petty, Molan is narrow... more>> minded and narcissistic.  Despite this, u can rlly see that that’s not all there is to these two girls.  The novel shows moments where they rlly do act like siblings.  MC’s relationship with her grandma is the best thing ever as her grandma is the one who ultimately changed her og (og as in original Minglan) destiny.  Minglan’s family is one of the most interesting part of the novel which is why I prefer her childhood arc so much. 

Some people have problems with the ML who is a lot older than her and have a lot of flaws.  However I do enjoy a flawed ML once in a while.  I hope someone continues to tl this.  <<less

9/10 *slight spoiler* I realized I had some masochistic tendencies when I finished reading this despite the PAIN.  Ji Man is thrown into a tricky situation where she rlly can’t do anything without pulling agro.  Despite this she rlly does try her best.  ML is scum from the perspective of modern people like us, but he is a product of his time.  He has a lot of responsibilities as the novel points out: he’s got a whole household (maids/servants, concubines, children that add up to ~100 people) to take care of.  He rlly can’t afford to make mistakes in politics or else he’s basically screwed 100 people.  He’s a typical playboy but he does have... more>> a lot of growth towards the end.  He tries his best to cater to Ji Man but it’s hard bc of his position.  

Ji Man I think is one of the strongest (mentally) character I've ever read.  This is a tragedy so yea sh*t happens to her that she can’t do anything about.  She loses a lot that she can’t get back and she kinda just has to cope with it.  She had a little eating disorder in the middle but she bounced back which I admire a lot.  It’s a HE but when u read the authors note at the end…you’ll feel some emotions.  There are lots of annoying characters that your better off experiencing urself.  <<less

It’s about 700 chapters and it’s completed on Boxnovel.com.  For the first half of the novel, it’s in the perspective of Shen Ying.  For the second half(it’s more like the last quarter of the novel), it’s another character named Lonemoon (or Gu Yue for manhua).  This is a rlly light hearted and chill novel that won’t get u bored despite the 700 chapters.  ... more>>

The novel revolves around our trio: Shen Ying, Lonemoon, and Yi Qing and their journey to becoming…well you’ll find out.  Shen Ying is overpowered, she’s a cheat.  She isn’t without flaws however, bc her presence is so low that without her actively talking, people will subconsciously ignore her existence.  Lonemoon is the daddy of all daddys and by that I mean he’s rich.  He does basically everything and gives allowances to… everyone.  Yi Qing is another cheat but he’s a cheat in regards to his world where he can level up constantly.  However, he is more well known for his food. 

 This novel is about the cheat, the sugar daddy, and the chef.  I really recommend this bc I can’t count how many times I’ve read this ( ・∇・)

There’s a manhua as well but it feels a little underfunded.  It’s art style is unique compared to other manhua art styles.  <<less

10/10 I’ve reread this like 3x on mlt so it’s rlly good.  It’s setting is in the apocalypse but it’s so wholesome and sweet that u sometimes forget that.  MC and ML’s relationship was the star of this show.  They both aren’t exactly perfect but they compliment each other in every way possible.  They act like an old married couple in the way that they are comfortable being around each other and support each other no matter what.  MC is a damsel in distress done right.  She’s physically weak and very lazy but she will get things done when she needs to.  ML is probably the most unique ML I’ve read because he’s dependable and... more>> strong and not taciturn and cold.  He’s a handyman to have around but he does show vulnerability.  He very much enjoys teasing MC and is often more laidback than her even tho she’s supposed to be the salted fish.  This novel also touches upon issues that usually aren’t mentioned in other apocalyptic novels such as the toilet.  At one point, they just dig a hole. 

Plot is pretty chill but it is the apocalypse so not that chill.  Some parts u may cry but overall, it’s a HE that left me very satisfied.  <<less

10/10 I love this so far.  MC is a little gaslighting gatekeeping girlboss in the truest sense.  Although the synopsis says that she was a villain in a Mary Sue novel, in actuality, she has no recollection of being a villain at all and the “Mary Sue” was just someone else that she barely recognized.  Anyhow, she gets transported to this “villain school” to learn how to be good and stuff.  The novel doesn’t focus on the school aspect at all, it focuses on “exams” that students have to take every month.  These exams are like survival games so if u like [Kaleidoscope of death] or [I’ve transmigrated into this movie before] you’ll probably like... more>> this too.  

MC is such a lucky person that she herself finds it bizarre, but she accepts it anyway.  For example, in one scene, she was telling her friend how outrageously ridiculous her luck was but got cut off bc she stubbed her toe into a random metal box that happened to contain a bunch of money inside. MC is self aware and highly emotionally intelligent and her methods of overcoming her exams are so…unique.  She reminds me of the MC in [100,000 per hr professional standin] in that they both are so proficient in manipulating people.  More than that tho, MC is quite the sweetheart and she’s very lovable and comedic.  <<less

Personally I love love interests that like to tease the MC and I’m very intrigued(?) by the love interest in this one!  The horror element in this novel is so on point and made me fall in love with the genre.  However, the comedic element in this balances out the horror and makes this such a fun read.  

MC is a very level headed and gentle guy.  He relies on his instincts and smarts instead of a golden finger to survive the various doors.  Despite the traumatizing experiences, MC remains very sturdy and doesn’t lose himself.  

Each of the doors has a unique world that makes this so fun to read.  The writing style was good and the translation was also pretty top tier.  I would 100% recommend this for anyone!! <<less

Novel expands on MC’s first life as well as her thoughts and actions.  One thing that I found OCC was how MC became…like a typical person? At the end.  I just don’t like how she can pretend to be naive and dumb and then suddenly change into smart and…normal(I guess)?  It just feels too wrong. 

ML is typical black bellied cold indifferent etc etc.  However, he enjoys teasing MC and they can be considered childhood friends.  They’re also really close and comfortable with each other which I found so endearing.  He is her cousin (by name but not blood related) so there’s that. 

I would recommend this even though I’m not a big fan of harem.  Every other aspect of this novel impress me.  <<less

9/10 *slight spoiler*I mtled and I don’t regret it.  It’s a switched at birth story and as usual, I feel for both babies involved.  This novel is pretty centered around the MC’s family regretting their choices and actions which is why this is so satisfying to read.  Your gonna rlly feel for MC in the beginning bc of the crap her own biological family puts on her subconsciously or not.  The fake daughter, who happens to have the fl halo, is a typical white lotus, however she didn’t actually have to do much to put MC at a disadvantage.  Her fl halo caused MC’s family and the people around her to treat her better than... more>> the MC.  She herself lives in her own little bubble of happiness and expects everyone to like her.  However she is very subtle with her little complex as most people see her as innocent and pure (at least until she exposed her ugly side).

ML is literally the best.  He’s a little tsun tsun and is very feisty.  He ofc has his own tragic backstory and sadly he kinda shifts into the more conventional ML at the end bc he thinks that what an ideal boyfriend should be like.  He keeps his little tsundere personality but he does mature throughout the novel. 

Now for my little rant.  The MC’s family did NOT learn their lesson at all.  First they treated MC like crap while fawning over their fake daughter (bc they think that the existence of MC will make her feel bad).  Then when they regretted their actions towards MC, they start treating the fake daughter like she was invisible.  Fake daughter eventually took dire measures and does some questionable stuff but I would like to make the argument that MC’s family was the cause of her downfall.  That’s because throughout the whole novel, fake daughter was very passive with her bullying towards MC (preferring to manipulate others instead of doing things herself).  When MC’s family eventually start ignoring her, that’s when she started doing illegal stuff (arson lol).  MC’s family cannot keep either daughter for sh*t like they’ve alienated both their daughters.  It’s almost as if they can’t stop treating both the daughters with bias and they can only wholeheartedly love one of them.  They ruined their real daughter in the first timeline and their fake daughter in the second timeline.  The reason why I hate MC’s family more than any other character here is because they raised the fake daughter into what she is (can’t do anything, doesn’t know how the real world works, selfish, etc) and then pushes her into the real world with no support like how do u expect her to live?? 

Anyway, I hate her family but everything else is soooo good.  Especially MC’s fluff with ML. <<less

Luo Jingwan is as close to perfect as u can get in the ancient world without being Mary Sue.  She’s calm, collected, smart, cute, cunning, considerate, has perfect etiquette, etc.  However, that also makes her a little bland.  In the beginning of the story, her personality intrigued me bc the author managed to balance her perfection with everything else in the story.  She's the favorite among her sisters and cousins and her grandparents are very biased towards her(it can be excused bc her grandparents treat her cousins and sisters very well however such obvious bias isn’t doing anyone a favor).  

The ML is a yandere and I think the translator does a perfect job of describing the convoluted timelines.  While I’m at it, I think the translator is one of the best that I’ve seen so far.  He or she puts neat little notes or pictures at the end for a little explanation.  He or she also does an amazing job translating the story.  Anyway, ML is batsh*t crazy and he’s also very beautiful. 

For me, the first 600 chapters were very entertaining and I couldn’t stop reading but after that I kinda just stopped.  <<less

Kissshouin Reika on the outside is regal and noble like a queen.  Kisshouin Reika on the inside….is strange.  This is a light hearted and comedic (at the expense of our dear mc) slice of life novel that centers around Reika’s daily life at her school and outside of it.  Don’t expect too much action since this IS a slice of life.  You’ll see repeat events like the annual summer party or whatever but that adds charm to the novel.  As for the ML, they haven’t shown up yet(or ever) but we do get hints on who it is on other people’s povs.  Highly recommend and I wish so badly the author continued but the experience was great.  I think some people made fanfics that continued this soooo <<less

What I like about this story is mostly the MC.  She’s very rational but she still has the family oriented mindset that most people in her era had.  She chose to forgive (mostly) the transgressions that happened to her and made the best of her circumstances.  However this doesn’t mean that she’s a pushover, she’s very unyielding and somewhat stubborn.  

This is one of the few cases where I don’t feel bad for the fake daughter bc she is just an unsolicited problem.  She schemes against MC right off the bat and is honestly quite ungrateful.  She’s the type that will probably break her moms heart later on even tho her mom treats her even better than her biological daughter.  <<less

9/10 *slight spoiler* it’s a switched at birth story and usually I’ll feel rlly bad for both children involved in the swapping.  That applies here too bc u can see that Mu Qingyao has already lost before she even began.  Abusive father, emotionally unstable mother, a brother that basically stops caring as soon as he learns about the MC, and an awful fiancé that she’s stuck with since her dad (also MC’s dad) decided that this engagement is her only worth.  She’s in a terrible situation for sure but that doesn’t stop her from being a bit*h too.  Towards the latter half of the novel, Mu Qingyao stops pestering the MC mostly bc she’s being... more>> pestered by someone else.  She’s a disappointing person but her ending was a little too harsh.  MC’s father is scum of the earth.  He treats his children and wife like they owe him smth and always talks about how much he does for the family blah blah blah.  His company is failing but that’s due to his own incompetence and he’ll make several bad decisions that will lead to his downfall.  MC’s mom is rlly emotionally weak in the beginning and she lacks confidence which will be expanded on later in the story.  She gets better towards the end and finally grew a spine.  MC’s brother is the taciturn and cold person that’s actually just rlly freakin awkward.  He spends most of the novel being silent.

Enough about the side characters, the MC is kind of a tomboy that’s cold person on the outside but she is kind of easily flustered/girlish.  She’s rlly lovable and a bit too multifaceted for my tastes but it doesn’t rlly affect the story.  ML is a typical arrogant rich boy but emits golden retriever energy.  He is very supportive however he knows his limits bc MC is an independent queen that wants to succeed on her own.  

The novel at the beginning can seem very typical and boring but it gets much better the more u read.   The latter half of the story is more focused on each characters mental health rather than pointless drama.   <<less
