It took me several months to decide to finally read it… Mainly because I wasn't sure what to expect LOLOL, which is probably purposefully done, the author likes their mystery and suspense. But, back to the main point—the main premise. This is set in a sci-fi universe where time travel is a thing. The MC (Ji Yushi) and ML (Song Qinglan) are basically the human version of Time Lords (Doctor Who reference!) One is a 'Recorder' that observes the timeline silently, while the other is a 'Guardian' that protects the timeline from unexpected troubles. The story begins when Recorder!MC is asked to participate in a mission with Guardian!ML's squad. Then, what starts off as a regular mission becomes a complete mess!Lots of time travel shenanigans in this one! When I first found Mist, it was during my Zombie Apocalypse novels spree (it came up as a recommended). But I passed on it because of the tags being weird. Now I understand that the Zombie Apocalypse isn't really the focus. This is definitely more of an infinite flow kind of novel. Where the characters must survive through seemingly impossible instances that challenged their very life and death. I can't say too much without spoiling, so I'll stop there~ But this is definitely an excellent read and I recommend that you try it out if you're still hesitating like I was in the past!The characters are very well written, and the overall development of the plot was very satisfying. The author is great at tying everything together, and the world that they created was 1000000% interesting. OH—-The story is heavy in action and suspense (not a horror, but it was a bit creepy at times), and it's kinda impossible to put down as a result lolol! So if you're going read this, I recommend doing so when you have the time to read it in one or two bursts~ <<less

If I had to describe it shortly, it would be fantasy infrastructure! The protagonist, Xu Sili, is an singer who is terminally ill. He doesn't have long to live. And so, before his death, he decided to invest all of his property into the development of an advanced holographic game. In exchange, the game developers agreed to give him a new 'life' by making him an NPC. As for the ML! Just before the protagonist dies, he decides to make another request from... more>> the game developers. That is, that his favorite game character, Si Sheng, from a mobile card game app (where players raise card characters as the story progresses) is brought into the game with him.

The novel starts off a bit slow. The MC and ML are seemingly at opposite sides from the very beginning, but that doesn't last long. Though various misunderstandings and lack of communication causes much drama between the two and extends the romance development a bit - making a proper slow burn!

Ah, but back to the description: Fantasy Instructure. LOLOL. As the Emperor of this new game world, the MC has to prepare for many things. But, most importantly, it's the participation of the "Players" from the real world. He has to prep their beginner 'start village' planet into something that the Players will be hesitant to leave behind -- which prompts lots of infrastructure development!

I love that kind of thing, but I understand that there may be some people who don't agree and would prefer a faster, action-centric fantasy novel. There is a little bit of action here, but the story is still mostly focused on the infrastructure development! That being the case, I still recommend the novel for the setting and the worldbuilding! It's quite unique~ I'm currently working on a sci-fi original work with similar settings, so this proved to be very inspiring for me. For that reason, I may be a bit biased, but I consider this a fave!

IMPORTANT NOTE: The TL is incomplete but the MTL is approximately 75% readable. The names are a bit annoying (since their Western Names translated to Chinese and then translated back to English DX) but once you get the gist of them, the rest of the text is easy enough to understand. Usually, MTL makes me give up after 100-200 or so chapters, but I persisted to the end this time! <<less

More specifically, you have to like infrastructure and farming XD. The tone is similar to the BL novel "Sand Sculpture Demon King" the one where the MC transmigrates in a western fantasy world as a demon king with his smart phone and starts to transport modern culture to enlighten the people of that world. Only, the things transported are different. Here, the MC transports ancient Chinese culture, food culture, and farming know-how by building a game focused on agriculture.It's surprisingly fun. You get to see the MC updating the game slowly — which is the focus of the story. As for the other things. It's not as good. The characters are mostly simple. At least, they don't go through tempering or extreme character development. They just live their life smoothly. Without any real conflicts or growth. As for romance … DX don't expect too much!! The romance here is sooooo basic that it pretty much has no reason to exist. The falling in love step is skipped directly or, at least, is not given enough development to be very realistic. It always feels like it came out of nowhere, so I didn't care much about it.My real goal in reading this till the end is seeing the completed version of the game — which was not bad. Kinda wish there was more game-building content, even, since there were a couple of loose ends here and there. And it seems like the game has a lot of room for growth. And he needs to plant in order to collect spiritual energy. In the end, the game he made becomes the best source of the energy he needs to cultivate. So he focuses his attention on the game more. Adding updates whenever he gets an idea, and, by the way, making money so that more people can play his game and give him star coins and spiritual energy.(As for the ML, he's the great admiral of the empire. He's suffering from a genetic collapse that has reverted him back to his kitty form and was picked up by the MC to be a pet and helper. Later, after he's brought to the game by the MC, the ML gains consciousness. But he doesn't remember being a kitty. So shenanigans with identity ensue. It's all very simple. Note, this novel is unique in that the multiple personalities do not lead to a fusion. But this uniqueness feels right in my eyes. You get a stoic ML that can't be profaned, a tsundere ML that's both bratty and domineering, and a lustful loyal dog ML that is 100% obedient. XD SO, ALL IN ALL, it's a whole package. As for the MC, he's definitely not your typical shou. Externally, he's a bit of a dandy. But his hidden depths make him the perfect match for all of the ML's personalities. So yeh. Lord of fun all around! Don't expect too much of a plot btw. There is some, but plot really isn't the focus here. Nor is it the setting. It's all about the characters in my eyes.

He had briefly glanced at a BL book set in an interstellar world, and then suddenly woke up to find himself occupying the body of the vicious male supporting role in said book. The original owner is also called Chu Chen. He's the eldest son of the Chu family, but after his mother died, his father took in a mistress and completely forgot about him. In this way, the OG owner was raised as a dandy that only knew how to play around. This made him useless as a son, and so the family decided to marry him off to a wealthy family. Unfortunately, things didn't work out. The OG owner was set up on the night of the engagement and ended up giving up on himself and the world.

The MC takes over at this point, and the story begins. The MC doesn't really care about the original owner's family or supposed-to-be-fiancé. He intends to get revenge on behalf of the OG owner, but that doesn't stop him from seeking his own satisfaction. He directly asked the Old and Wealthy Li Family's son (AKA, the ML) — who is not only disabled but also suffering from mental disorder — for his hand in marriage. Somehow; it all works out. Too many things happen as well, and most of it was convenient for the MC -- making this more of a shuangwen type of story (where the progress of the protagonists is relatively smooth). I don't think there's anything wrong with that though. I had fun, and that's enough for me! [Oh, and as for the translation, it's edited MTL, and starts off pretty rough. As such, the original!MC had been continuously doing dangerous broadcasts on a live stream platform to earn some money for the center. Our MC decides to stick to the original's lifestyle, but changes it up a little and goes for a more easy-going "lifestyle live stream instead", where he broadcasts his and dragon cubs' (there's more to come!!) daily lives. As for the ML, he's a mythical dragon (also the crown prince of the dragon empire), that was injured and ended up discovering the MC. He decides to stick around~ The main focus of this novel is dragon cub raising. There are lots of fluffy moments and the tone of the novel is light and humorous (which is admittedly a little hard to read when translated, so if you know Chinese, it would probably be best to read the raws!). I didn't finish the novel, but I give it high props for being cute~ Best to read this when you're in a lighthearted mood and not really looking for drama (this doesn't have any). <<less

It's just that Slice of Life novels have never been my thing (also why I didn't give it a high rating. It's a personal preference thing, not because I disliked the novel or thought it was of bad quality), so I dropped it in the end XD! If you're looking for a casual read with relatively smooth ups and downs, this is a great story to try. It's very sweet and relaxing. The author also has a way with words, so it's really nice to read the english translation._______SUMMARY -- The MC, Jian Mei, is an ordinary boy from modern-day China. There's a new pet to be released in said game. An ultimate pet that is more powerful than all other pets in the game thus far. He wanted to get that pet and be the strongest player in the game. Unfortunately, an accident happened whilst he was out shopping for game peripherals. He tested out a game collar and because of his 100% compatibility with the "Human Pet" identity in the game, he was ultimately unable to get his wish. To make matters worse, the collar refuses to come off — he's been locked under the pet identity until it can be removed.He's forced to enter the game as someone that was neither human pet nor regular player. He looked like a human and had stats like a normal player. This in-between identity causes him a lot of trouble. Especially after the automatic alert for "new human pet" was sent out to all the rich, kryptonite players in the game. There are now a bunch of rich benefactors seeking him out to be their own human pet, which is the last thing the MC wanted.(As for the ML~ He's of the same age as the MC. That should give you a good idea LOL. Even before I read the author's note, I had a feeling it was him. So when it was confirmed, I didn't feel too sad about it not being the MC's Shifu or fellow Brother.) <<less

Unfortunately for him, just as his ninth tail was about to form, a human came barreling straight through his hiding place with a wish. This lucky human is the ML, or rather, the current Marshall of the Hintares Galaxy.... more>>

The rest of the story that follows is mostly Slice of Life. The ML raising his magical cat with special abilities, the MC being exposed as the last cat from Earth, political internal conflict with researchers, and the mystery of their current location in the galaxy. Again; it’s rather simple. The characters are nothing complex and the romance is quite... stiff? I won’t be writing a full review for this one because I think it’s a bit shorter than my usual read LOL, but I will give it a rating! I finished it after all~

Again, it’s all very simple! The external plot is more of a side thing. So the main focus is exploring carving and stuff. I liked it, though I can’t say it’s of very high quality in terms of character or plot development. <<less

As for our ML, he takes a background role for the most part -- showing up only when the plot kicks in as a fan of the MC and the impressive Marshall that becomes one of the MC's strongest backers. (Note: I didn't finish the novel! But, I did like it. Just wasn't all that invested cause the plot was pretty minimal and the food aspect not as enticing as a non-foodie). <<less

Only... the MC is deathly afraid of the ML’s Beast form — which is a snake LOL. Starts off as a primitive survival story since the main CP are stuck in that forest. Gradually, however, they find themselves back to humanity. It’s a slow development, where the author shows off how different the setting is from modern society. Making the story very much a slice of life type~! I liked it very much! There are clumsy points, but it’s easy to make light of them since the tone of the story isn’t particularly serious. <<less

This novel still has a beautiful MC struggling against his family -- who have undermined him all this time. But the MC in question is quite scheming and self-aware (opposite of the kind and aloof MC in the other novel). In that same vein, the ML in this novel is also completely different -- he's kind and benevolent rather than cold and domineering. The plot of the novel is them rising above their families and slowly working their way through the rotted upper-society ranks. I enjoyed the complex character dynamics most, and definitely recommend it for that reason! I stopped reading only because I thought that most of the character plots were out of the way, and had no interest in the external kingdom-building plots. (In terms of the futuristic setting or the sentinel & guide setting, it's not really explored in full. It's more drama than anything else.) <<less

A veritable weak-to-strong story. The MC has the usual advantages (strong bloodline, quick learning progress, golden finger Mecha/AI), but the development of his strength is very gradual — he really does starts from the bottom and works his way up slowly, which he manages thanks, in large part, to his high-EQ and sensibility. The ML, on the other hand, is the opposite. He’s super OP right off the bat but starts off with very little EQ and sensibility (sneezingface). Recommended for those looking for a long adventure story with very little drama and angst! The story still has its ups and downs, of course, but this isn’t your usual face-slapping transmigration fic. <<less

Some QTs have a tendency toward being repetitive or lacking in character development, but this has a very distinct development on the MC's end, so it's particularly satisfying, even if some areas are a bit draggy (it's not to an extreme point.) The main premise of this novel is that the MC (Qin Lang) is forced into a 'dating game' by his mother. As someone part of a futuristic, interstellar world, the technology is very advanced. Advanced enough to allow people to experience different worlds. The story is mission oriented. There’s an overarching plot over everything, and everything plays second fiddle to that. Throughout the course of solving the riddles caused by the big mission, the MC meets the ML, who is also a Colonel, and the two hit it off! Light in tone. Lots of humor. Recommended for the characters and relationship dynamics (gosh I love the bickering of these two idiots). I’m not a fan of action-heavy case stories so I skimmed a lot and ended up being bored by the end, but even if you’re in the same boat, I recommend trying it out for the sweet and funny CP! <<less

The novel features your typical Soft!Shou and Overbearing!Gong dynamic, though the ML was a little more cute than I expected (though he ends up being a bit of a pretty vase by the end, since he doesn’t do much). Romance-wise? The lack of a romance tag and the inclusion ‘Early Romance’ tag makes it pretty clear that it’s not really about that, so I forgive the lack of good romance LOLOL.

Highly recommended if you’re the type who loves extensive worldbuilding stories. The characters aren’t the star in this novel, and while there is drama and action, they mostly supplement the Stone Gambling. I would certainly read it again! But okay, sham of a summary aside, I enjoyed the read! The main plot is… MC is a master of metaphysics (he can see spirits, draw talismans, etc) that died young and ended up transmigrating 500 years into the future (which is an interstellar era). Upon arrival, he finds himself immediately matched up to an Alpha called Xu Yao (the ML). He agrees to being said Alpha's wife so that he can go back with him to planet Earth, which had long been abandoned and left to ruin after several world-ending disasters.The focus of the story is a bit mixed. It starts off being mostly about romance and exploring metaphysics. Then there's a bit of a "kingdom building" feel as the two main characters get even more involved with the undead community. Finally, it finishes off with action and family feels. So… you really get a bit of everything! I found the main CP quite amusing. The MC is pretty much your stereotypical shou!protagonist, but the ML was a bit more unique — taking on the foxy!gong route rather than the stoic!gong route, though he's still quite overbearing.All in all, while I was super skeptical about this read for the longest time, I have no regrets now that I've finally read it. I learned a lot about Chinese culture and seeing it fused with the futuristic era was quite interesting! The TL over at CG is also quite good, so there's no reason not to give it a shot. <<less

Fortunately, he doesn't have high requirements after living in the Zombie Apocalypse for so long, and being a Mermaid Pet in this era, where the strong humans require the spiritual soothing unique to mermaids, was a pretty cushy life. The two clumsily try to work with each other despite the MC's lack of knowledge on a mermaid's strengths and their lack of communication ability. Prompting a rather fluffy slow burn intermixed with lots of worldbuilding.

The focus is on the relationship between the MC and ML at first, with the MC working hard to bridge the communication gap and the ML doing his best to be an understanding and doting "Master" turned Potential Mate. The tone of the story is light overall! I started to lose interest by the end, I don't think it was handled very well. But I liked the beginning arcs a lot and will highly recommend it for that reason! The TL is also pretty good. Better in the beginning, kinda needs editing by the end. <<less

SUMMARY: This story starts pretty much like any interstellar beastman CN novel XD. The MC, Jin Wowo, is a golden snail that had cultivated to the point of transforming into human. However, something went wrong and he found himself being transported into a completely different place altogether. Said place was completely deserted, but after a while, he has a surprise encounter with a beastman (the ML, Marshall Raymond) whose energy core was broken and was being chased by bad guys. The two become entangled after a series of misunderstandings and coincidences xD. The focus of the novel aren't the characters themselves, however. It's more plot-driven. Obviously, someone is out to get the ML, and the MC was involved by virtue of his coincidental saving of the ML. Luckily for them, the MC has a lot of cheats that will allow them to easily get out of trouble.

THOUGHTS: Not bad, not bad. I don't think it deserves a 4.4/5 rating, but I admit that it's a pretty fun read despite not having much substance. Usually, for BL novels, I write a more in-depth review than this, but because I wasn't completely conscious while reading this novel, I decided to keep it short and rewrite it later after I reread. Summary: The MC, Song Huai, is a boy from a world gone interstellar. He woke up after receiving a blow to his head and discovers that his whole life had actually been based on a book. A book where he's nothing but cannon fodder that pushes the original CP together. His end is rather miserable as well. He dies at the hand of the man he pursued ever since he was a child, and was never able to even get a smidgen of his liking or respect. Anyway, since he doesn't want to repeat the life he lived in said book, the MC decided to go a different route entirely. He starts avoiding his long-time crush and accepts the engagement he had with said long-time crush's uncle, the ML, Lu Mian. From then on, what happens is a cliche love drama between two awkward people who struggle to communicate, but manage to make it to the end because of existing entanglements. <<less

2.68/5!!! For some reason, I thought this novel was highly rated. I come back only see that it’s actually pretty mixed T.T Ah, anyways— I got quite far but I ended up giving up in the end. The novel’s cover is quite misleading lol, so is the title. It’s a lot more edgy than it appears. The MC is someone who has the ability to speak to beasts, and after time traveling 100, 000 years into the future, he finds out that he can heal animals now too! As someone that loves beast, the MC naturally leans towards the beast’s side of things, especially knowing what they’ve gone through. But, of course, he can’t ignore the humans either.

The novel starts off quite good. I thought that the slow pacing and the initial worldbuilding was unique and interesting. However, as the story went on, the more inexplicable things got... nevermind the almost incomprehensible writing (idk if that’s the fault of the TL or the original author — I think it’s mostly the latter, cause the novel has quite a few major inconsistencies and isn’t very well planned). Anyway, as a whole, the novel is full of rough patches, so I can see why the reviews are so mixed. I ended up getting fat because I initially expected it to be good and was playing animal crossing while only vaguely listening to it read aloud to me LOLOL. I think it’s fine if you’re looking for a casual, chill read. Though I can’t say you won’t be very frustrated by the end *sneezing face* <<less
