This inevitably pushes the ML into the Lazy!MC's orbit and changes the progression of things from then on.This is very much a poor-to-rich/weak-to-strong story with lots of farming and clan building elements. I was resistant to read this story for the longest time, but it ended up being my type of story! The pacing was perfect, the characters lovely and memorable, the setting fresh and unique, and the romance sweet! You might question your moral views a bit, cause the MC of this story doesn't have the most rounded 3 views (As a result of being from a zombie apocalypse), but don't take things too seriously! It's a fun and exciting work that I'm already looking forward to rereading in the future!(REREAD NOTE: 01/21/2023) I've just finished rereading, and my opinion of the novel is pretty much the same. I like it a lot and gave it a high rating because it has all the elements I like. It's a little silly, but there's lots of cooking, farming, clan-building, infrastructure building, etc., which are all things I enjoy in stories. If one were to compare this novel with a more serious work, you'll probably find that there are lots of things that are lacking. For example, the characters are a bit overly comical. But well, I really enjoyed the simplicity of ancient people. I think it was done pretty well, even if it was a bit exaggerated. One of which is his own, and the other the ML's (who is the Big Boss of an underworld association)! Great characters. Great characters. Great characters. Have I already said that the novel has great characters??? Because it has great characters! The SYSTEM plot was pretty unique too~ The progress bars played a bigger role than I thought it would and it made following the plot (both the original plot with the MC's brothers and the new action-heavy, underworld plot) more exciting! OH OH! The main CP is also sweet and versatile, which makes the novel all the more tempting in my eyes~  <<less

The title is the title of the original novel, where the OG!MC (Pei Shaoze) marked the ML (Cheng Xia) and proceeded to treat him as a pet for his own amus**ent before abandoning him — of course, inevitably, the ML makes a comeback and succeeds at life while getting his revenge. A system accompanied him in his trip but it's mostly a background thing. He abandoned it after it prompted him to permanently mark the ML (who had been delivered to his bed in while in heat). He didn't have any intentions of following the plot, only satisfying the main task: get the ML to like him.

The novel is set in the entertainment industry. With the MC being an entertainment company and the ML being an up-and-coming artist. The romance and development of the characters were the main focus. With lots of uniquely non-painful misunderstandings as ML fails at comprehending the ABO world lolol. I can see now why it's so well-liked! The tone is very sweet and soft. There's no angst, so it's healing rather than painful (unlike most other ABO novels). The translation from RB is good too! So, definitely worth the read. <<less

The main character of the novel is a 'scum' who was transmigrated by force by a "Reformation Guide". This Guide observes his actions and makes it impossible for him to act out his darker instincts. It rewards and punishes him based on a very strict criteria, making it almost impossible for him to survive in his new world, which is a world stuck in a primitive era -- where people ate people because of lack of food, where it is natural for the strong to ens*ave the weak, where there are many (many many many) creatures (both intelligent and non-intelligent) waiting to kill everyone as soon as they step out of safe areas.

The first arc of the story focuses on establishing the enmity between the MC and the ML. The ML picked up the MC in the beginning and ens*aved him. Naturally, the MC wasn't having it, but his current circumstances could only allow him to make small moves in the savage tribal environment that he had been dumped in. As the story progresses, the thinking of the people will naturally change. It's actually pretty satisfying if you stick through it! The characters are very complex and the worldbuilding is very well-done (in my opinion). So...

Altogether! If you think you can handle the graphic and potentially triggering themes thrown your way (especially in the beginning), I think this novel is worth reading. It's long... but I didn't get bored even till the end! The only reason I dropped it before finishing was that I had work to do T.T and I'm not sure I'll be able to pick it back up after I finish. IDK what to say outside of its very worth reading.Summary: As stated in the summary, the MC (Gong, first introduced as Lu Wancheng) transmigrates into a novel as a sickly cannon fodder that didn't have much to do with the plot. He drops into the role on the night of his marriage with the ML (Shou, Lin Qingyu), who really despises the fact that he was forced to marry him. The two start off as adversaries, of a sort. The ML refused to like him, while the MC is just so likeable it's almost painful T_T.Ahhh this novel is hard to describe. It's filled with ups and downs. Even though you're told of the ending of each version of the MC early, after getting to know the characters, you still can't help but care about everything. It's just … really really good at making you care. And well, that's what novels are supposed to do! This is a cultivation fantasy novel with in-depth worldbuilding and lots of powering-ups. It's that kind of self-indulgent novel where the MC and ML constantly face challenges but never loses and instead only continue to grow stronger and stronger! I originally was hesitant about reading this, and at one point, I even considered stopping (at the 200-chapter mark, since at that point, the original plotline was all wrapped up), but I'm glad I read this till the end! It's a very satisfying read~ I ended up being very fond of the main CP but what I definitely loved most was the setting! Highly recommended if you're looking for a story to really sink your teeth into! Lots of fun and humorous times, with a satisfying end to most storylines (which is very difficult to do!) <<less

SUMMARY:

The MC of this novel is called Shao Yunan. He transmigrated into a young man who had the same name, and who had just been recently married to the ML (Wang Shijing) -- who had just gotten back from the army with a big scar on his face, a loss of vision of in one eye, and two children behind him as little tails. Of course, the MC is unhappy with the situation. He had been living a happy and contented life in modern times as a wine and tea seller. Now that he was sent to ancient times, and was forced to deal with the ML's unreasonable family, his mood couldn't be worse. Fortunately, he has a magical space to help improve the lives of him and his new family. So, it's impossible for him to lose.

THOUGHTS:

The story is definitely a poor-to-rich kind of story. However, because the author enjoys their worldbuilding, it goes a lot more in-depth than other stories I've read. Here, from the very beginning, the MC's ascension to great heights had been obvious. There was signs pointing to him being unable to stay only as a simple, wealthy farmer, as he wished. One of the reasons I've disliked other similar stories is because the ascension of those protagonists always seemed so unrealistic. Here, the author did a good job of setting things up so that there wouldn't be issues later.

Oof, by the way, I was actually going to write a full review for this novel, since I liked it a lot. However, in the middle of writing it, the page suddenly refreshed and all the progress was lost @.@. Sooooo a normal review it is for now XD. I'll write a full review when I reread it next time. For now, all I can say is that I really like this novel. I'm glad I ended up reading it despite the summary. The characters were very unique, definitely not your typical shou and gong pairing (the shou is a spunky shou who knows that he's a bottom and is proud of it, while the gong is not your typical overbearing man. From the very beginning, he had always felt inferior to the MC, and while he was very jealous because of it, he wasn't unreasonable, and never stopped supporting his man.)

As for the writing, there's a lot of info-dumping in this novel, and the amount of information in the first few chapters almost made me give up tbh XD. But in the end, I persisted and was glad for it. The info-dumping just made the world richer later. Though, I admit that I was still very confused about who was who sometimes. Ah ... what else. TL quality is okay, there are some chapters that were pretty much the same as MTL though. I think because of the lack of editing. And, on the topic of the MTL! It's readable, like 75%, so not bad. At least, the names of the characters were clear, which is the most important.

RATING: 4.5/5

For now, I think this is the best rating. Later, when I reread it, I'll fine-tune it a bit, but I think it would only go a little higher or a little lower. Regardless, what's important is that, even if the story definitely has its flaws, I enjoyed it a lot. Poor-to-rich stories are the most satisfying for me, and this is one treasure that I definitely cannot believe took me so long to find. (Ah, warning for those unaware, this is a Mature Fic, and while the Smut is not the most explicit, it happens on-screen and there are metaphorical descriptions of the characters doing the deed. If I had to rate it, it would be 2.5/5 spicy XD. Oh, and this is not just for the main pair, but also the side pairs.) <<less

I thought this would be a cultivation novel for the longest time… idk why!... more>> But I avoided it because of that T.T Only to find out that this is more of a imperial palace intrigue story + fantasy fish with a SYSTEM lolol. The story kicks off with the MC literally on the chopping block. His savior? The ML, Jung-Wang, the mute 5th Prince. Who he recognizes as the wife-pampering-tyrant from the novel he had just read. He manages to survive and thrive thanks to this initial connection and the SYSTEM in his head—which quickly initiated tasks to close the distance between them. The rest of the story involves a fish acting coquettish to bend conquer the tyrant and succeeding.Starts of primarily romance-centric. It's a slow burn since the MC starts off as a pure fish LOLOL. As the end nears, more and more intrigue is mixed in as the battle of the throne goes into full throttle. Oh, and of course, we mustn't forget the MPREG tag, which already heavily implies that this novel becomes more family oriented the further that you go.I ended up not finishing the novel, but I feel quite satisfied since it's pretty much a HE already. If you're hesitating on reading this like I did before, I suggest giving it a shot! At least 5-10 chapters~ I guarantee that it's worth the read. The tone of the novel is very light and humorous, so it's an easy novel to just sit back and enjoy. The characters are also pretty good, and the romance is cute! In the early chapters, the TL-er makes a comment somewhere and says that this isn't really a dark work. But I disagree, it's quite dark -- at least, when compared to other Shounen Ai novels. In any case, it's set in the Yuan Dynasty, and follows history pretty closely (I imagine, I actually know nothing about Ancient Chinese History). The MC transmigrates into a young 14yo boy who had been sent away because the country was experiencing upheaval (the Emperor was inept and the people under him were all anxious to rebel). This novel is quite fast-paced, and it doesn't focus only on one perspective. In order to show how the MC's choices affects the country, the author will constantly change POVs to show off the new lives of the affected people. In this way, it kind of makes for dry reading. As in, you're still technically reading a novel about a man rising up from being a poor transmigrator into the proud Son of Heavens -- the Emperor himself. However, you really only see glimpses of it since the lense of the narrative doesn't stick only on him.

Overall, I do recommend that you read it, but only if you're interested in history or kingdom-building novels. I learned quite a bit reading this, and I consider the time invested a worthwhile investment, but most people may not~ Especially since the characters, while great, don't have much screen time and the romance is non-existent. <<less

Where the MC is a transmigrator who read a novel and felt affronted over one of the character's horrible background. This time, it's the villain of the OG!Novel (the ML), who was switched at birth and then abandoned for the fake son because of his poor upbringing. The MC transmigrates as a classmate/neighbor of said villain from birth. Though things are a bit more complicated than that, since the MC only remembered his transmigration when he was 14yo. At that point he had already bullied the villain and the villain had lived 15 years in an abusive home.... more>> So, it's a little more difficult to help him get on the right path, but the MC of course persists!

The difference between this novel and "Transmigrating Into The Heartthrob's Cannon Fodder Childhood Friend" is that the MC doesn't have as strong of a foundation. He's the saint type character that will do anything for the sake of the ML for seemingly no reason, and he doesn't have many motivations outside of that. That's the biggest shortcoming of this novel I think. The villain characters were a little shallow as well. Outside of that? I really enjoyed it~ It's well-written, well-translated, and well-paced. My favorite aspect is the ML's transformation and progression overtime. The author shows off many sides to him! <<less

This backer ends up being the ML of the story -- who is the son of one of the strongest Clans of the Cangyun Empire, but is unfortunately burdened by an illness that has kept him from practicing martial arts. The story focuses mainly on the growth of the main CP -- though their journey is more of a 'strong-to-stronger' journey rather than the usual 'weak-to-strong.' There is a big focus on exploring alchemy and martial arts, making for a really detailed setting. But, the fast-pacing does mean that a lot of things gets pushed aside rather quickly. I enjoyed it a lot! But the CG translation is far from finished and the MTL kind of sucks the fun out of everything T.T so I've decided to shelve it for now! Definitely going to come back to reread though! Worth the time invested for the worldbuilding 1000000%! <<less

Note, this novel is unique in that the multiple personalities do not lead to a fusion. But this uniqueness feels right in my eyes. You get a stoic ML that can't be profaned, a tsundere ML that's both bratty and domineering, and a lustful loyal dog ML that is 100% obedient. XD SO, ALL IN ALL, it's a whole package. As for the MC, he's definitely not your typical shou. Externally, he's a bit of a dandy. But his hidden depths make him the perfect match for all of the ML's personalities. So yeh. Lord of fun all around! Don't expect too much of a plot btw. There is some, but plot really isn't the focus here. Nor is it the setting. It's all about the characters in my eyes.

He had briefly glanced at a BL book set in an interstellar world, and then suddenly woke up to find himself occupying the body of the vicious male supporting role in said book. The original owner is also called Chu Chen. He's the eldest son of the Chu family, but after his mother died, his father took in a mistress and completely forgot about him. In this way, the OG owner was raised as a dandy that only knew how to play around. This made him useless as a son, and so the family decided to marry him off to a wealthy family. Unfortunately, things didn't work out. The OG owner was set up on the night of the engagement and ended up giving up on himself and the world.

The MC takes over at this point, and the story begins. The MC doesn't really care about the original owner's family or supposed-to-be-fiancé. He intends to get revenge on behalf of the OG owner, but that doesn't stop him from seeking his own satisfaction. He directly asked the Old and Wealthy Li Family's son (AKA, the ML) — who is not only disabled but also suffering from mental disorder — for his hand in marriage. Somehow; it all works out. The two get married and stay together from then on~ <<less

The novel is set in a modern day world, but it's one that's behind in terms of technology and some cultural aspects. The MC was assigned to this world after getting into an accident while reading about it in a book. He was given the role of a cannon fodder in the original story who cuckolded the original protagonist (the ML) and ended up dying alone. When he arrived into this world, he was already well into his marriage with the original protagonist, but there was still a long way to go before his end. So, he deals a lot with the system at first, which encourages him to create a livelihood for himself (which is where the poor-to-rich aspect comes in, though it's more of a rich-to-rich lolol). The story focuses on business management at first, but the ending arc explores the mixed relationships of all the characters in the book that wasn't revealed in the original novel.

When it comes to the romance, it was a gradual build-up that was both humorous and sticky sweet~ So it's really not as dog-blooded or contrived as the summary may make you believe it is XD. All in all, I considered it a good read, and the MTL was also highly comprehensible (i plugged the raw into google translate and directly posted it to wattpad for offline reading. It was 85-90% readable.)

OHHH just one more thing, remember to not take this novel too seriously! The MC is quite careless when it comes to certain matters, and it's even possible to just call him straight-out heartless DX. So if you take things too seriously, it's a bit difficult to enjoy the novel's occasional dark humor. In the end, the main CP are quite happy, so I didn't really care. Especially since the ML also took advantage in the beginning by hiding things and then later freely reading his mind like its nothing lmfao~ <<less

The ML practically glues himself to the MC from the start and the "red flowers" premise takes up approximately 1% of the storyline *sneezingface*. But okay, sham of a summary aside, I enjoyed the read! The main plot is… MC is a master of metaphysics (he can see spirits, draw talismans, etc) that died young and ended up transmigrating 500 years into the future (which is an interstellar era). Upon arrival, he finds himself immediately matched up to an Alpha called Xu Yao (the ML). He agrees to being said Alpha's wife so that he can go back with him to planet... more>> Earth, which had long been abandoned and left to ruin after several world-ending disasters.

The focus of the story is a bit mixed. It starts off being mostly about romance and exploring metaphysics. Then there's a bit of a "kingdom building" feel as the two main characters get even more involved with the undead community. Finally, it finishes off with action and family feels. So… you really get a bit of everything! I found the main CP quite amusing. The MC is pretty much your stereotypical shou!protagonist, but the ML was a bit more unique — taking on the foxy!gong route rather than the stoic!gong route, though he's still quite overbearing.

All in all, while I was super skeptical about this read for the longest time, I have no regrets now that I've finally read it. I learned a lot about Chinese culture and seeing it fused with the futuristic era was quite interesting! The TL over at CG is also quite good, so there's no reason not to give it a shot. <<less

This time around, I read till the end, but to put it bluntly, I still think the first 3 arcs are the best since the rest is pretty much just self-indulgent slice-of-life affairs.... more>>

SUMMARY:

Historical (Ancient China) Fantasy. The MC, Qin Mian, transmigrates into a newly married boy with the same name as himself. This boy was pitted by a fortune teller and forced to marry the ignored and abused eldest son of the Lei family (aka the ML, Lei Tie!). Not long after transmigrating, MC decides that the best thing to do is to separate from the ML's troublesome family. Fortunately, his new husband likes to pamper his wife, and so the progress is relatively smooth.

The first few arcs of the novel is slice of life with strong "Get Rich" vibes. The MC takes advantage of modern knowledge and his golden finger (a magical space) to get rich ASAP. There's some family drama interspersed along the way, of course. After a while, there's the subject of raising a family, cultivation, life in the capital city, and a short trip to modern times.

RATING: 3.87/5

Definitely has its flaws, but if you're interested in a Poor-to-Rich novel set in Ancient China (one that doesn't hesitate to give the MC some pretty OP golden fingers), then this is not a bad read for you. I suggest at least reading it once! <<less

The main premise is on exploring the golden finger. Basically, a poor-to-rich story! It's not the most organized, and you will definitely discover many areas where things appear a bit clumsy. Too many things happen as well, and most of it was convenient for the MC -- making this more of a shuangwen type of story (where the progress of the protagonists is relatively smooth). I don't think there's anything wrong with that though. I had fun, and that's enough for me! [Oh, and as for the translation, it's edited MTL, and starts off pretty rough. 3.87/5!!! [Transmigration, Angst, System Administrator] This was a lot more angsty than I expected XD. I think I knew this before, which is why I held back on reading it for so long. But this time, I had no idea what to read, so I decided to pick randomly from my reading lists and start reading without looking at the summary and the reviews. AS SUCH, I was completely turned over, again and again, by the sheer amount of angst lolol. It's not a bad thing though, the characters of the novel are interesting, even if this is not necessarily a character-driven work, the plot development was meaningful. SUMMARY:

The MC, Su Jingyang is just a normal man. He's a bit foolish and naive, but he means well most of the time. Unfortunately, his ignorance about pregnancy ends up causing him to be dragged into a tragic experience by a corrupted SYSTEM. Not only is he forced to have children endlessly, but he experiences constant humiliation on a regular basis to make it happen. There's nothing that can be done about it. At least, he got to choose the man who would be the father of his children, but it's pretty much the same as not choosing at all, since he was in so much of a rush that he didn't even take in his appearance. And so, the story proceeds, with the MC struggling to live in ancient times while being tormented by the corrupted system. In the process, he connects with a kindred spirit that will turn into a lifelong friend. And, of course, he'll end up meeting the ML, Ah-Yi/Rong Ci.

Although this novel is really not my kind of novel, I can't deny that it's pretty good. Worth reading, especially if you like angst and stuff. Saying this, it's almost like I'm saying the story is all tragedy xD. But it's actually pretty good about balancing the good and the bad. The theme of this story should be relationships. Specifically, how true love can result in disaster -- and how sometimes, things work out, and sometimes, they don't. The MC and the ML's struggle is just part of the story (the MC wants to go back to Modern Times and continues to resolutely pursue this goal till the end). There are also some subplots with other pairs, where the theme is explored. Anyway, what's important is that the main characters do come out of it happy in the end. <<less

3.85/5!!! [Transmigration, Historical: Hong Kong, Martial Arts, Mafia] I thought this would be mainly a poor-to-rich novel, but it ended up being more plot-driven (political intrigue and such). Anyway, I thought it was a pretty fun read, regardless. The characters are very likable and the premise quite interesting. There are plenty of novels set during the Chinese Reform Era but not many are specifically set in Hong Kong. Here, the MC and ML live in the slums of Hong Kong, striving to survive day to day through various means. The MC was originally a transmigrator who found himself in the body of the sickly childhood best friend of the villain in the novel (the ML).... more>> By virtue of transmigration, he was get a second chance at a life where he knew what was to come. He made big moves pretty much from the very beginning because his only aim in this world in the beginning was to live well and take care of the ML, who treasured the original owner very much.I definitely liked the intrigue of this novel initially. But I have to say that the MTL quality (70% readable, so it’s not TOO bad) ruined my mood a bit. The messy TL links here was also disappointing djdkdkdk. It’s all over the place, suffice to say. I continued to read the MTL because I found the novel really good. It’s such a shame that it wasn’t TL-ed completely, but well, I’m still quite happy to have at least given it a shot. Another reason I stopped reading is because the ending was already pretty obvious and I was satisfied with where the main characters were. I intended to skim the rest after writing this review, which was not detailed because I read it mostly in MTL and my actual comprehension may have been wrong in some spots.

RATING: 3.85/5An enjoyable read overall! Very exciting, not as dark as it sounds and the characters were really truly lovely. You can tell the author spent a long time arranging everyone’s roles. At least, the key side characters lolol, there are always those cannon fodders who slip through the net.

BY THE WAY, this rating is not really super accurate. I like this novel so much that it would probably be worth 4.1 stars if it were completed translated.  <<less

3.75/5!!! [Transmigration, Poor-to-Rich, Childcare] (Updated: 2nd Reread - 02/26/2023) Childcare and Poor-to-Rich Slice of Life novel! This is my second time reading it and I enjoyed it just as much as I did the first time I read it. Back then, I read it till the end and gave it a 3.6/5 rating. My impression is still the same now (though I raised the rating to 3.75/5. I think this novel is a very good, short and fluffy novel. It's quite simple and some parts are handled kind of clumsily, but it hit all the important points and delivers some pretty good feels.... more>>

SUMMARY: MC (Xu Zhao) transmigrates into the 1980s as a young single father with a 2yo son. He finds himself in pretty dire straights: having recently dropped out of school, a too-thin baby, unsupportive older brothers, and no money in sight. But, soon enough, he finds some use of his modern sensibilities in order to make a name for himself and improve his and his son's livelihoods. The ML (Cui Dingchen) comes into the picture pretty early as the mysterious youngest uncle of the schoolmate that first helps MC off of his feet.

THOUGHTS: The main focus of the novel is the poor-to-rich and childcare aspect. MC has to raise his new 2yo son while striving to make some money. Fortunately, the 80s is rich with opportunities! The novel is pretty chill and down-to-earth. Perhaps not the most exciting nor the most realistic. The author admits to some questionable choices as well in terms of character development and set-up. But, if you're looking for a fun, casual read with not to many ups and downs, then this is a good one to consider! [NOTE: The TL is not finished but the MTL is readable. The author writes very simply, and it shows in the MTL, which is more coherent than most. I'd say that it is about... 75% readable, whereas most MTL is around the 60% range.] <<less

He maintained the water abilities he had from his previous life, but because of his inability to communicate with humans and his relatively weak strength, he had no choice but to go with the flow and be sold off as a pet. Fortunately, he doesn't have high requirements after living in the Zombie Apocalypse for so long, and being a Mermaid Pet in this era, where the strong humans require the spiritual soothing unique to mermaids, was a pretty cushy life. The two clumsily try to work with each other despite the MC's lack of knowledge on a mermaid's strengths and their lack of communication ability. Prompting a rather fluffy slow burn intermixed with lots of worldbuilding.

The focus is on the relationship between the MC and ML at first, with the MC working hard to bridge the communication gap and the ML doing his best to be an understanding and doting "Master" turned Potential Mate. The tone of the story is light overall! I started to lose interest by the end, I don't think it was handled very well. But I liked the beginning arcs a lot and will highly recommend it for that reason! The TL is also pretty good. Better in the beginning, kinda needs editing by the end. <<less
