1 - The writen style is like you'r watching a TV series, but you'r not watching you're reading, so the resolt is really unsatisfied.
The secnes changed, thouhgts changes, thoes who talk changes, but you the one reading have to be too fucus or thinks to know who is talking now, what is going now...etc.
If you were watching TV, yes you won't need a narrative to till you what the secne is like, who is in the secne, what are the people doing silently that lead to the later conversation. You will come to know all this while watching, but you won't be able to know all this if the author didn't write it down for you if you were reading!
And we have exactly this situaition, were the author just write somethings, while you has to guess other things she didn't write.

2 - Most of the story is told to you, you don't see it happen. Another flaw of the author writen style!
And when I say most, that is about 95% to 98% of the story. What you can really read as it happen is so so littel and have the same probleme above.
You feel like you are just watching the fast forward story that appear on TV series, while only short fast clips goes on to tell you what did happen, and you won't hear the actors talking, you'll just hear a background music.
Maybe this can tell how most of the novel go.
It all feels more like a summary of novel, not an actuall novel.
Though it get a littel better later.

I liked that she told her family abou her magice space.
Though I thought she would till the whole family or her parents, but she didn't. She just told ther father and eldest brother, the second child in the family.
And this secne was confuse at first, becuase as I said upove, the author like to keep things in her own mind and write only headnotes which can confuse you completly.
Anyway, I'm glad that she told her family, and didn't think that she a 5 years child can do everything by herself and can feed, protact her family with no one notic anything strange about her.

Would any loving parents really let a 11-12 years old boy with a girl of 6 years old go to the county by themself and stay there for more than a week?!
Please author!
The county take almost a whole day to go from the town, not to mention from the village.
And if this is not enugh, they- these two children bought a house!

Then when the father had to go to the provincial capital, all the 4 children wanted t go. Why only take the 2nd and 4th, aka the 2nd brother and FL?
You can see that all this have no ground and no base, it's just the author want to make a chance for the FL to make more money.
But if I were to barely accept the 1st situaition, then I really can't accept the 2nd!
Why would you hurt the other 2 children just for the FL to enjoy her time more?!

For the market and farm lands matter, I don't want to criticize the author becuase I'm not very sure about how things were in 50s in china. Does they started forbidon sales or not, does the farm lands has been taken away from people as a collected properety or not, I don't know.
So I'm taking whatever the author give me here, and will see when these things will happen.

This... This, I don't know even what to say!
The elder sister of FL, the most gentel, kind, the mother figure for her younger brothers and sister, the one who love FL so much and take care of her so much....etc.
The author with no explaintion made her become someone s*upid, julusy, who hate the FL and want to make truple for her, who don't like that the FL is littel spoild!
You know, even at the chapter before, she still care, love, spoiling, warm and kind to the FL, so why for no reason you change her character setting now, author?
Sigh, another s*upid thing any author could do. I really was happy that all the family members were good and on the same heart as they were in the last life, so why would you change it like this all of sudden!

But then again, if that happen I really can't blame the elder sister.
Espicially after the matter of going to provincial capital, that time was the first time she as the eldest duaghter asked for something, and her father ruthlsly turned her down and took her youngest sister with him.
No one wouldn't feel sad in his heart when this happen, and if that happen again and again...?

FL' father has told FL' mother about everything (as it shown at certain chapter) but the author made her always act as she doesn't know anything, always confused about things that happen, like wher these things come from, where did it go...etc. but she shouldn't be like this, she should have known everything by now, so why act cloueless like this.

How good the Eldest sister is, and how divel they thought her and take her for.
They already assume that she is bad and can't be trusted unlike anyone else in the family! But why? No reason.
They all have distrust in her from the begninng, they never tried ro see if she is like them deserve trust, they never thought about that even!
Espicially the FL, she has so littel to non trust in her eldist sister for no reason. She alwasy treat her sister as theif, always try her best to distant her from all the family and herself.
It's okay and a happy thing for everyone else on the family to know about the FL secret, she was too happy with that saying it's so good that all of them know and she can live freely, but when her sister came, she immediatly begain act on gouard againest her sister, feel that her sister should not know about anything about her, her sister will betray her and the family.
She never sat really with her to know that, she never talk with her.

I fell so sorry for the eldest sister.

I don't what the author think actually. I have a feeling that all this drama won't happen with the ML, not even half of this.
I have a strong feeling that the FL will s*upidly quicly trust the ML and till him everything without thinking.

Eating various meats, fish and chikens, frutes and even a Rosted WHOLE sheep, pluse all other kinds of foods and grains, for a family of only 6 people. And they'er in a time where everyone around them is litraly starving of hunger, die of hunger, can't walk or talk due to severe hunger. Most people around them, their nighbors, have not eating anything for many days, and they're here have too much food on their taple that they can't finish, is really really dispoint in them and disgusting, not something that should be proud about.
I know that they have food, and I don't ask or exepect from them to not eat well or starve themself, but don't coock thoes foods that have a strong smel and hurt other people, and don't waste it like this just becuase it's for the new year!
That's really a hatful pehaviour.

I feel like the author really has no other plot so she keep repeten the same thing with different people.
At first with no reason she made the eldest sister the enmy of the family.
Now it's the mother turn. Seriously!
This FL want everyone think only about her. She can't accept that other people have lifes too.
Now they keep acusing the mother of ignoring her littel daughter, and the FL start of no where hate her mother becuase as she clame doesn't care about her anymore.
You know, it's not like the mother is taking care of the other children and ignore her specifically.
Plus, as someone who keep saying that she is a 80 old years in heart, why can't she say to her mother if there is something bothring her, let her mother know that she don't like this, don't let the mother keep doing this things thinking that she is doing this things to make her duaghter happy, unkown to her that her duaghter hated her becuase of this.
Like when the father ask the mother why didn't you make any new clothis for the littel duaghter, she said isn't always been like this, she make the olders clothis and the littel ones were the old clothis of their sbilings clothis.
It's something is too normal, espicialy at that time. Seriously, who would make new clothis for the littel child before the older one at that time?
If they want it, they can tell the mother, the FL can easly tell her mother that now she has some money and cloth, she would like her mother to make some new clothis for her. If she told her mother this, with how much her mother likes her, she won't say no no-matter what. But she didn't, she kept this a thing to hate her mother over, a thing to let her father, secound brother, anut... everyone hate the mother and feel sorry for the FL!
Also, the eldest sister wanted to mesure the FL to make new clothis to her back then, but she firmly refused, saying that her edest sister is busy and she can make it herself. Then FL go to her own room to mocks and feel sorry for herself that there is no one remember her or try to make new clothis for her!

Another thing, after the FL and her father and 2nd brother came after the visit of the new year.

The FL left the daining taple without saying anything, her mother asked the 2nd son, what's wrong with your littel sister, is she angry or somthing? The son then start yalling at his mother and reproach her, saying that his sister has pimple on her feet and feels pain, how could she the mother not even know and understant this and think that she's angry?

Really? And how should the mother know about this if no one told her! Should she be a spiritual?
Plus, since they come to the house the mother was busy. Busy making food for them, busy taking care of the nieces that came to visit with them. How do you expext her to suddenely know what was going with you back then when she had not even have time to sat and ask you if you were okay yet and what you did there.

-- The author seems feel the novel can't be without someone neer the FL that should be hated for whatever reason by the FL.
At first it was the grandmother, though she was deserve it.
Then as soon as the got rid of the grandmother, it was the eldest sister turn. The author suddnely made her a devil who hate the FL and the FL is the most innocent one.
Then as soon as they finish the eldest sister matter it was the mother turn to be the bad one.

-Though I don't feel that the Eldest sister matter was really solved -inside FL' mind-. For example, when the eldest sister was going to marry, the FL and her two older brother come to the sister saying they want to give her a marrige gifts. The sister refused, but they insest to give her. When the sister saw the priceless things they were giving her, she refused again and again, they insest more and more on her to take it. Then the sister said that she wold accept their gifts but would leve this things here at home and would not take it with her for now.
What did the FL thought in her minde at the time? Good that this sister know what she should do. If the sister dare to take this things with her then they (2 brothers + FL) whould disconect the sister and would never care about her in the future even if she dies. Now that she left this things here for them to tak care of, then they will still think that she is their sister and would take care of her in the future.
I really feel sorry to the eldest sister. I personally prefer to have no food like everone esle than having this sinsiter sister, who always do everthing with hidden meaning, who will test her famliy at every turn.

Just how s*upid this thing is, I don't know even how to discrpt it.
So the FL' father and her family, that cousen-in-law, everyone thought that only the 11 years old FL can go to the friend of their in law (The friend of Eldest sister father-in-law) to give him a gift and ask him to accept her tow cousens to work in his factory!
Seriously author, how s*upid you'r and how s*upid your character can be, seriously, this stupdness makes me angry over and over again!
Even if you want to force the FL to go in the front for EVERY LITTEL thing for the whole family, at lest make it more acceptable. What's with her a 11 years old go to midiate for something like this while all the adults back off and shy away from this!
This man is not her uncul, nor someone has a close realationship to her. If someone has to go, shouldn't be her father? He just need to do like her, take the tea to bribe the man and aske him to get the two cousens.
Even if he found it hard to go to that man, he could go to his in-law to ask him to midiate for them.
What's with choosen her of all the people.

Plus this s*upid arrogant FL, if she want's her mother to keep treat her as childe, why she always jump in every littel thing conser adults, she should learn to hide behind her parents and let them take care of things like this. Not jump in every thing then exepect other to still treat and look at her as a childe.

Also, she always at guardness againest her sister and mother, but she always happily and openly brought everything in front of others, she never not even once thought, what if they thought how and why a child like her can take precious things like this all the time. She is okay with everyone stranger to know about her and she even happy and proud, but always hate and wery of her family members (for now her eldest sister and mother, don't know who will be the next one).

Many things I think is somewhat wierd.
For example: 1- It seems like all the young people whither they are villegars or ediucated youthes, all of them are over 20 and unmarried! This totally too strange in 70s. At that time and age people usually get married before they reach the age of 20 even in cites not to mention villiges. So how can EVERY ONE is way over 20, there is 27 and 28, and still not married.
Even the femal lead is 22! The male lead 24~25, male lead's sister 27~28. and still not married.
Every youth in the village is too old but not marrid!

2- The FL is 22 old, so she should have finish school long time ago, but she isn't working, then how did she could still stay in the city all this years and was not forced to be an educated youth all this years?
As much as I know about this age time is that youths who finish school have to find work in a specific time or they will be forced to go down to be an educated youth in rural areas.
But the FL managed to stay in the city for at least 4  years, and her coming to the village was all becuase she was angry and report her name to go!

--Okay, at the end it turnd out that the FL was 24 before going throw the book and only 19 here, and the ML is only 21.
But this informaition come from ch 26, and as much as I remember in the early chapters, the above ages where correct too. So I actually don't know, is't me who was wrong and wronged the author, or the author has change what she wrote before.

The FL always want cigrates and alcohol tickets, then go and by this cigrates and alcohol. Really don't understand what she want to do with it? Isn't a waste of money since she didn't smoke or drink? She dosen't even give it to other people. So why would she go and keep collect this thengs! I feel that she seems like an idiot for doing that. If she take any other tickets like cloth, food, suger, oile, iron or anything that is of benfets for her or the villigares so that she for example can exchang it with them or somtheing, will be much more better than her kept buying cigrates that she DONOT need nor uese at all.

This women take her childe to the Xiao house every time she smell something good, or send her child to look at what they are eating, or send her child to go to ask what they'er eating. All this and when they try to give her son a bite to taste their food, she will hold her child and prevent him from eating and will let him sate there looking at other people eating while he can't eat this delicious food. And the author "always" and "timely" will praise her that she is a good women and mother who is usually so strict in this aspict and that she won't let her chiled be greedy or have thoughts about other people' things, especially food.
That's totally nonsence and ridiculous! If she was really as what the author kept saying, she won't take her child "everytime" she sense that others are eating something good and come to sat to "look" at them and "talk" while they're eating!

God! I thought we had a lazy but smart female lead, turn out I'm wrong! She's totally s*upid. Someone hate her, she know that this girle hate her, and this girl suddenly come to say to her "Don't go too close to Xiao Ge - the male lead - becouase Zhou somthing like him for a long time, so don't try to get in the way."
So she the s*upid female lead suddenly decided that she won't talk to the ML again, she would ignore him when he talk to her, won't look at him when they meet. And simply start a cold war... a lonely cold war from her side againest the ML who unfortunately doesn't know anything! He doesn't know why the girl suddnely stopped talking to him and distant him.

Okay, it's offically that the author change things as she like when it's convenient for her.
At first she kept discriping the femal lead' space that it's a space she Can take things off but can Not put things in from outside inside the space.
And she kept saying this over and over, now that the femal lead is going back to her family and need to put things in the space, the space suddnely become a normal space where she can put things insid and take them later!

Oh My Good! The female lead really throw the food at the ground and stepped on it with her feet just to not give it to others!
If you don't want to give others to eat, just eat it yourself, why would you throw it on the ground and steep on it! This behavior is really really spoiled and wrong, and she still felt that she is so right in doing so!
There is so so so many people around her who can't even eat anything, but she throw the food "meat" in front of everyone and steeped on it!
I'm so angry with her.

I feel like their love is not a love that you could say love, their love is just their eager and thirst for sex!
From the beginning, when they look at each other, it wasn't looking and liking how the other person look like or something, but looking at the other and want to take him immediately to bed to have s*x, not caring whither the other is a good person or not, if the other person is suitable to them or not, they just want to have s*x.
Whenever they look at the other they'll feel the change in themself physchly and know they want to have s*x.
So their love is just for s*x. That's how I feel.
I don't know if a love like this should be consider a love. Anyway, I don't like this kind of love at all.
I don't minde though if they were so eager to have s*x after they get to know each other, after they loved eachother in a proper way. Just not like this, were I always feel like there was actaully no romance at all, it's all two people look at eachother felt sexy hot and want to have s*x immediately so they tried to make it happen with each other.
Though later seems like they start to have thought about romance and love beside s*x, so we can see romance and lovely moments, offcourse that must have many "few" scenes in between were they almost "couldn't" help themself while making-out.

This actaully let me feel like she betrayed her family' trust in her. If her family wasn't so good to her, I won't feel like this, If she did at least married him, even if it was without telling her family, it would be less betraying, becouase at least she get married, and not like this.
They do everything married couple do without marrige, which if something happen later and or she get pregnant later it would be a scandal at best and at worst it can reach to authorits.... and you can imagen what could happen later if that happen, since this in the 70s and NOT in the modern times.
That's why I feel that the FL has betrayed her family. She didn't thpought at all about which time she is in, she didn't thought about what impact could this bring to her life and her family life if this come to known. Though she know that the original killd herself becouase of this things in the novel, she still ignore all of this and still want to go to do this staffs with the ML without marrige!

I think it's ridiculs that the author thought that there is no other way to let the FL look only towards the ML unless she turn all the "spare tires" around the FL to bad people. The 2nd and 3rd male leads who were so nice and good people, good people towards everyone and not yet even have that much intract with the FL, still all turn devil for no reason and for nothing, just to let the FL hate them and "realize the her lover the ML is best.

Why can't other good people be still there have their own live even if they're not with the FL!

The author made them scamebages, a lowly despicables for nothing, really.

I feel the FL is so selfish.
For the reopen of the college intrance examination, she come to the ML and told him about this, saying that she know about it from her family, and that she want him to study with her and take the exame with her, she worked hard to make him belive her and take it seriously.
But she didn't even say a word of this or hinted for her family.
She has a brother who could also take the exame, but she didn't care that he couldn't becouase he wasn't able to make prepation.
She could have told her family the same lie she told the ML, that she know this thing from someone like from another educated yough from the village and let them know and be prepared. Whither they belived her or not that another thing, but for her to take all the love, care, money...etc. from this family but never take care of them or try to help them in anything, is so selfish.

I really don't understand how the FL think.
She prefer to keep have s*x with ML without marrige over getting marrige with him, though he kept asking her when to married but she refus evertime, even after going back to the city.

It's Ch. 113 not much until the end of this novel, but I really get tired of them, seriously!
Now they are in Shanghai, they have been living togther for so long (FL+ML), but her family still didn't show up at all, she didn't visit them or they ask about her at all?! It's like they have fanish in the world, they might only appear when the FL in need for them to take advantage of them.

My opnion of the FL is that she is someone who is still think she is still live in the modern tim, so she ignore and look down on many things that were important in the 70s.
That only show that she is ignorant, foolish, s*upid, arrgonat. And she is also too selfish who want to set back to enjoy her family care while she don't do anything to this family in return, I feel that she don't even take them as her family, just somepeople she can use when she need them and throw them when don't need.

If not for the s*upid fill up chapters that all about the FL and ML having s*x and having s*x then having s*x, I might was able to continue, but now I really can't and don't want to too.

I really feel the author had faild her love line plot.

And so is the novel, it's not bad, but I remember that I get tired of it becuase it's seems to know what would happen and I get bored.

Espicially the unexplaned time jump. It's not that I don't like or accebt time jumps, but this time jump really abropet and seems like the authoer just put it there for nothing just to eat events. Every thing have no gound, no background, and just appear from thin air!

This 2nd ML, really a villain, really disgusting! I tried to give him a chance for him to maybe get better, but no, he is totally bad, totally disgusting.
If the author would let the FL get rid of him and then get with another man who deserve her, I would have indure this, but obvious that she want to let them be the romantic couple, and he will remain as he is, and even if he change later on he will not be able to change the facts that he did so many harm and bad things for her!

The idiea that some people will p*rn to be completey evil with no choic while some will be born as rightious people without asking for that or working for it, is really rediculs.
Espicialy that those of the rightious way are really not complerey rightieous. They have their selfishnes, have their divelness, have their badness...etc.
So how could you just judg someone to be from here or there just like this, though the author explain that what determen that is the rightious have more good than bad and the evelness have more bad than good, but in reality it's just this person have been born here or there so he is with no choice one of them.
This idiea didn't let me read comfortably, espsially that it seems all the novel about this.

The FL.. at first I actually liked her and sympath with her, but really her character has so many flaws that should not be there givin the character the author wrote her to be.
After she woke up from that "dream", I understand that she might be stunned, unbelivable, suspious...etc.
And even when she chose to distance herself from eveyone in the dream, I felt it's okay. But to always feel nonchant whenever something happen with them or when they do something bad to her, is somewhat unreal if she really cared about them as she "think" and "belive"!
Anyone who faced with the bad facts of his beloved people, even if he said milions times that he don't care and that he had givin up on them and have no hope for them anymoe, would certainly feel bad, sad, uncomfortable when he saw them like this. But the FL was not! She really seems to not care about them anymore nor she have any love and affiction that she always "thought" she had for them!

And now that I have to deal with boried and irrated at the same time, I drop it.

It's good, but I feel there is so much unrealistic things going there though the female lead watch it as it was how it should be in reality at the time!

For example, those who live in the cowshed, have luxury taples and other things and can coock and eat as they like, just can't eat meat!
One of the people at the cowshed even still has his own medicine box, which still in a good shape! If he can still keep this medicine box like this, then why is he here at the cowshed?
Plus these people at cowshed are too strong, are no different from other people at all, not like they are here in "jail" or that they are "bad element" as the goverment say, they'er living so well on their own cowshed, they just don't have their own house!

Another example, the capten family when taking care of her, I won't say there is something wrong in this, because it depend on the person himself whither to help or not, and the capten family opvisly a good people who would reach their hand to help if they can without selfleshness. But to go and buy meat for her while they themself can't eat meat, I have to re think about this, is there really are people at that age and time who would do that? I seriously don't think that. Don't forget that they should be at the year 1970, that mean even if they'er much better than others -financially-  they still have just come out of the famine pirode where people - as stated in records - die everyday and even some resolt to eat human meat! So, at this, where would you find some one do some things like this, if as the author try to let us see, that this novel should be not too far from reality at the time?

Anyway, other than this, I think this novel is pretty good to now!

The FL is very wastfull. At first actaully I didn't understand the prupous of her going to the blak market while she don't need that, as she has a space full of things. But her things are not unlimeted, that if she used some it will be like she didn't use any, no, it's if she used something then it gone. But she still goes to the black market to sold her suplly? I don't understand her goal at all.
Then the next time she goes the blak market, she gone to buy fire wood! She could easly go to the woods and collect fire woods to the space without her spending a cint! But she go to the black market to buy it?!! Isn't this just she want to waste her money! She know the historical events, and she know that she will be in need for money later but still waste it here like this now!

Plus, the author kept emphasis on the fact that FL is an orphan. But in my understand, someone who should have lived in orphange since childhood, should at least understand the importantness of money, but this FL the total oppest! She lives her life like a pamper rich lady who can't understand what it means to be poor or hungry.

So I quit!

I was okay with that before becuase they were dealing with people more bad, shameless and love to take advantage more than them, so it was okay when reading that. But then seeing them always like this towards everyone even towards this who really like them and take care of them (like old woman Zhang - the matren grandmother of MC) made me tird!
And I actually don't like their shamelessnes, as I said it was okay at first becuase they need to be like this to deal with old woman Liu, she is totally the big shamless one and she dislike them so she won't give them anything, so they have to fight for their rights. But as the time goes, I didn't like reading them!
