Don't be fooled by the cute title, Husky and His White Cat Shizun is an extremely painful read. But don't worry, there's more to it than just being full of angst. It's interesting, pulling, and very well-written. There's a nine out of ten chance that it will take you hostage and force you to become invested in the words, sentences, and feelings emitted from it. Mo Ran was a great protagonist to read about. His thoughts, his change, and his growth were all so heart-wrenching. (The majority of the book was.) And Chu Wanning was such a strong and remarkably loveable character. . . It's all just too sad but also too good. You won't regret at least giving this novel a chance. I loved the characters and the redemption. I loved the descriptions and the atmosphere. I'm too scared to spoil anything here and god is it really tempting to. . .

Not a brainless fluff despite the (again) very misleading title (and really deceptive synopsis lol). Little Mushroom was surprisingly a big journey. It has a lot of things to learn and take away from, and incredible world-building. I loved this a lot. And yes, I guess you could say: "The MC is naive". But: . . .He is (literally) a mushroom. So isn't it justified that he's ignorant about society? Now, the process of him learning about this society and the contradicting contrast between a simple mushroom, whose sole goal is getting his spore back, and the anguishing surroundings he enters and is surrounded by is very dark. . . . yet somehow, in some way. . also very heart-warming. I don't know how to describe it. . Oh, and yes! It was surprisingly quite a dark read with many depressing undertones. The author really, really dug us a proper trap with that deceptive synopsis! The ML and MC's relationship was a joy to read about though. Fleshed out characters. . . Excellent apocalyptic world-building. . . *chef's kiss*

Okay, I have to admit, I'd be pretty surprised if you haven't heard of this. But it isn't well-known unexplainedly. It definitely lives up to its name. I think this was around the second or third novel I ever read here. (Special thanks to the friend that threw me down this rabbit hole and enlightened me on the wonders of web novels.) Now, the reason why this novel is so famous: Is because it's really just too perfect. A masterpiece. From its riveting pacing that keeps you wanting to know more, the well-balanced back and forth of present and past that keeps you on edge, revealing truths and building more room for questions. . Intricate plot and settings, a charming protagonist, lovable characters .. . the remarkably sweet relationship between the two leads. . . Everything pulls you in.

This was written by Priest. So need I say more? . . .No seriously, need I? Because Priests novels are in an entire league of their own. Sha Po Lang has unusual yet fascinating world-building that incorporates steampunk into its otherwise historical Chinese setting. On a scale of 1 to 2HA (Well I don't think anything can top 2HA. . . *blows my nose ༼ ༎ຶ ෴ ༎ຶ༽* ), pain levels are modest but evident in this one. Just a slow knife twist into your heart. (I promise not everything on here is angsty! *cough*.) The plot is really heavy and includes a lot of political drive so it isn't centered solely on the romance of the two main leads. The characters, both friends and enemies, were all logically motivated. Genuinely a good read.

Oh god. This. THIS. This is, to be very blunt, just incredible. Even if you don't like BL, you'd stillhave to give this novel a chance, or else you'd be missing out big, BIG time. We are now way, way, way beyond just amazing and I cannot begin to describe how much you'll (probably and hopefully, as long as your brain doesn't crash while reading) end up loving this. The reason I mentioned potential brain crashing is because it's impossible to figure out how in the world the author came up with some of these games. Mind-boggling. My IQ was completely trampled upon when I first read this (Not a very hard feat. . . b-but still!!) Extremely impressive settings! If you're worried about the romance, it's slow but it's there. So don't worry too much. At some point, you won't even care about the CP anymore because you'll be too busy having your mind blown by everything else. I'm so speechless I don't know what else I can write here but no amount of words can attest to how incredible the ideas in this novel are.

This is a quick transmigration novel. The revenge and face slapping is good!

So the idea behind this novel is truly one of a kind in its genre, but that isn't the sole reason it stands out so perfectly from the rest. All ten of the worlds they go to have fleshed-out characters and detailed world-building and they were all memorable in their own ways.

Almost didn't make it on my list but it did knock my socks off so I just had to put it here. I introduce you to: The Hunger Games' gay Cousin. (jk) It actually executed the idea of a setting similar to the hunger games A LOT better than the original did. And don't get me wrong, I really like Hunger Games too but the world-building here was a lot more. . well-thought-out. A world where something as inhumane as the "hunger games" exists. . . should be this dark. And believe me when I say this is very dark, heavy, with lots of mature themes. All the characters were really interesting, albeit just as twisted. But you can't even blame them for this because the world they live in, is a lot different than ours. A few minor plotholes were one of the main reasons it almost didn't make it on my list, but the overall story makes up for that.

Another novel by Priest! This is one of my favorite cultivation novels. I loved the premise. . all these different characters, with very distinct personalities, who find it hard to get along well with each other. . end up becoming family. An Engaging and perfectly balanced plot, Intricate characters, trials, failures, growth, strengths, and weaknesses. All the main characters were very fleshed out, and you get to watch all of them develop more and more as they grow up. It was a humorous, sad, thought-provoking, and overall really wonderful read.

I adore this. There's a lot of growth from both the mc (going from being super happy about just being able to catch a glimpse of his brother to realize that he needs to not be so dependent on him) and the ml (paying more attention to his brother and learning to care for him). This novel also tackles autism which is both rare and even more rarely well-written (from what I've seen so far at least.). It's a very heart-warming story with some suffering and saddening factors to uncover and a really touching relationship between the two leads. Oh, and although they're 'brothers', don't worry, they're not actually related at all. They weren't even that close growing up.

The way the mc was describing their relationship and feelings felt so realistic. Knowing it won't end well, knowing this needs to stop, feeling numb. . . It was so good. One of the reviews mentioned that this needs some level of maturity to truly understand and enjoy, and I couldn't agree more. Giving someone 12 years of your life and then trying to stop giving them anymore isn't as easy as you'd all imagine. This blew me away. It's stunningly well-written and has mesmerizing descriptiveness, an anguishing plot, and complex relationships and characters, all wrapped quite neatly in a realistic yet heart-wrenching story.
