It seems like every aspect of the book just hits the right mark for me. The plot is intricate and fleshed out along the timeline and the MC is reaching levels of shamelessness i've never seen before. The basic summary of the novel can be summed down to an amazing mechanical engineer reincarnating into the body of an extremely poor orphan on a futuristic star where people aspire to be mecha soldiers and engineers to fight starbeasts. Twist is, she is too poor to afford being a mecha engineer and therefore becomes a soldier and cultivates her knowledge on the side. I love the setting so much and the characters she meets along her journey, especially her besties in the same team who 'were' all rich noble kids who she corrupted into becoming shameless and stingy like her. I think my favourite aspect of this novel is how every piece of information we learn seems to all fits snuggly within a well planned timeline carefully crafted all in order to reach the climax. Nothing is forgotten along the way and even the most comedic moments seem to have purpose which just highlights how much care and thought the author put in. The novel is lighthearted at times but always carries a sense of seriousness and purpose, not to mention it has some really intriguing battles and world law as well as a seriously badass protagonist. <<less

We see our MC actually experience character growth as well as the characters surrounding her. All in all a very fun read, definitely recommend. <<less

Zhou Fei is our MC, she’s fully dedicated to the harsh world of martial arts and has both the talented and determination to thrive in such a world despite being so young. There is a very satisfying character progression within the novel bringing her and the rest of the cast to life within a vibrant world filled with intricate law and a strong underlying plot. The story follows her on her journey filled with captivating gritty battles and the unveiling of the mysteries contained within the vast world as well as comedic companions and an extremely satisfying weak to strong progression. I couldn’t say more praises to this novel. The paise is slow and explanations are long but I never felt like that hindered the story as the plot runs deep and exhilarating moments are frequent and never become boring.  <<less

The main difference between the two are the systems and the missions they are to complete in each world. In final boss is no joke, the MC has different missions each world but they generally stem down to take revenge and live a good life. Coming of the villain boss however, is tasked with gaining hatred points from the female and male lead and also ... her love interest. What I find interesting about this novel opposed to 'the final boss is no joke' is that the MC seems more human and although she is definitely the embodiment of arrogant and OP she is not as dehumanised as shi sheng (other novel MC), rather she is portrayed as someone who has had a lot of tragedy and a hidden darkness underneath her sweat smile, also she eats a sh*t ton which is explained later on. I personally love both novels and hope you read both of them as either novel can be a refresher for the other and may introduce an interesting plot for you in the same setting that you didn't get in the other novel. As a side note, long stories like this one does suffer from a bit of repetition and does get dropped occasionally, so I'd like to recommend that if you find an arc boring rather than trudging though, skip to the end and enter the next world (or switch novels from same series for change of pace). Everything important happens at the end of an arc anyways so don't worry about missing anything. There are also about 1200 chapters available of pretty decent translations for this novel currently.  <<less

Also I can’t say that it’s not super entertaining to see the MC basically f*ck with all the cliche plots of Chinese novels in weird scheming ways. <<less

The plans the MCs make are smart with well though out contingencies plans that actually make them seem intelligent unlike other novels that blatantly say their smart and then bullsh*t their way through something. The combat is also great and detailed with cool skills and use there of. The MCs are strong and rapidly growing through overcoming challenges but not without stronger enemies and greater challenges. <<less

It’s both heartwarming and suspenseful with all plentiful amount of comedy and a strong underlying plot with good development and character development. What keeps this novel above others of the same genre is the seriousness of her situation, there is a constant possibility of death and she is just trying to survive. Other villainess novels seem to start off dark but because of the MC’s actions turn into a more light hearted story filled with romance or misunderstandings. But not this one, hated characters stay hated and favourability is earned and gradual. PS. The manhwa has a truely beautiful art style and has to be read. <<less

Complaints have been made about character development but I personally love her badass cold and calculating attitude and the satisfying brief moments of weakness shown and the romance between the MC and ML is soooo sweet. <<less
