A list of decent to amazing novels I've wasted evenings on. They may not be literary masterworks, but then again no one actually reads Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. Sometimes we just want the literary equivalent of potato chips, not three-star Michelin dishes.

The novels ARE ordered according to best to 'worst', but all of them are worthy to read in my opinion (and have more than 2 chapters published).

TRANSLATION STATUS

The best webnovel in the world will still be poorly received if the translation is bad, non-existent, or locked under $$$. I wished that things were different and that I didn't have to include this criterion, but that's how it is.

STORY DEPTH

In flat one-dimensional novels, it is as if the setting is taking place in a void. Characters, places, and creatures spontaneously appear and disappear out of thin air, and you never quite know what's going on or where it's going on. When reading such a novel, a dragon could literally descend on the capital in chapter 33 out of nowhere to eat the entire royal dynasty and you wouldn't even blink.

CHARACTER DEPTH

Characters with flat personalities are not lifeless, they are literal sock puppets that occasionally do stuff and utter dialogue. You have no idea what such characters do on their free days, nor could you envision how they would interact with you if the two of you were to sit at a café.
