1980's novel,  The part I'm about to address wasn't the most apparent part of the novel.

Family: Though not excusing them for being homophobes take note of the time period. h*mophobia was apparent, but the author didn't make those characters evil. It was a change in mindset. Homosexuality wasn't popular. Even DHB's Father said that the only time you here about this is over Tea. DHB's parents aren't also what you call the ideal type. Too conceited, all bullshitty proud and family traditions. <<less

 The romance starts a little later in the novel (about half way through 70), but it is very well written, CUTE, and lovely!!!! The MC and ML both are very fearless and a little lacking in emotion before getting together (with the ML being a bit more playful than our MC).However, they’re still very interesting characters in their own right, and the slow reveal of their backstory and shared history is fascinating to watch unfold. <<less

It doesn't involve your usual apocalypse themes or even OP characters (even though some people claim that our ML is OP, from how I see it, he's not). Depends on the amount of fluff you need in your life also... I was reading some reviews and realized just how bad the race/nationality-ism is in this novel. I'm not going to front, I didn't notice much because I'm from America and I'm also young so I don't usually recognize low disses. This is another thing that will effect your rating. After noticing this I've chocked it down to 4.5 or 4.6.

This is not because I am overly biased, but because being able to not put bias into controversial things such as the things mentioned is a trademark of a skilled writer. At the very least it shouldn't influence your book's overall message! <<less

ML is also nice, not scum, and remains true to its personality since although it is a s*ave-wife it is still “cold” and corrects when necessary and does not say yes to everything. The characterization of the MC is on-point and it reminds the reader often that the MC wasn't originally human without making her overly dense. <<less
