Well sh*t happens in story. It's not possible to halt story just beacause the female character cant keep up with mc. It's not like its a plot hole though. She appears in the novel again after a few arcs. In this novel female leads are just ordinary who work really really hard to keep up with mc. The Higher level being is a female, and both mc and fc leads are ok with it, so well it just doesn't suit your tastes! As for the world spirit Xue Ji, well she had it coming -_- I too am pissed that she's a captive now, but just wait for the story to progress
