I love the main character, and it’s pretty unique in that he’s deaf, and I so relate to him not only because of his poor sight and hearing, but mostly because I totally understand the social barrier. There are ‘blackbox’ parts that give insight to the ML’s thoughts which I felt really enriched the story.

Alongside that, I like that the supporting cast were dynamic and reoccurring. Definitely recommend! <<less

The MC is a hacker, clever and confident, and knows what he wants. He’s very OP, which I found satisfying. He’s refreshing in that he’s not innocent and pure and he acknowledges that, because has a very good understanding of human nature. He often points out that there is no definitive line between good and bad and the MC treads this line. It’s very refreshing in comparison to the virtuous white lotus MCs of other stories I read before this. Highly recommend! <<less

Setting is a QT survival game, except only MC is playing a love game instead of survival. It’s tagged as horror and can get pretty creepy and gory at times but it doesn’t go beyond that in terms of scariness. It was a good story that felt cut off, as if the author suddenly lost interest abruptly and threw a summary of the ending into the last arc to get it over with. <<less

It’s a really good story and the author Long Qi has a talent for world-building. The ML had the potential to blacken but remained a very gentle person probably because of the MC’s outright affection. They were both very honest about their feelings for each other, which was very refreshing and pure. 

The ending was fairly rushed with many loose ends left and I had a feeling the author wasn’t planning to end it there but life got in the way or something. Either way it was a very good story overall and I really enjoyed reading it.  <<less

Their story starts as a misunderstanding and then effortlessly transitions into a beautiful healthy relationship and I frickin love it <3 (Also I’m a sucker for rivals to friends to lovers). I loved how the whole school basically shipped them, and it was hilarious how their dormmates kept plotting ways to get them together when they all misunderstood the MC as having unrequited feelings for the ML. Overall I liked it a lot!!! ML and MC were both likable characters and meshed well together and the story was well-balanced. <<less

I didn’t actually hate the story—well, there are parts of it I hate, but even though the writing was a bit all over the place, I found the story charming in the beginning (like the first 60 chapters or so). Despite that, I like that the conflicts between them weren’t resolved so easily and they had to continue to work through their psychological shadows instead of instantly forgiving and forgetting. The MC’s character development was pretty good. It was a mess, but it also has good points.

The MC transmigrates as a baby and is raised by the paranoid beggar protag. Most of the story is a fairly slow-paced progression of their struggles together as the protag raises MC as his “baba” and its extremely sweet.

I wasn’t sure how they would progress from familial to romantic cuz I really liked their dynamic as a father-son pair, but I actually liked how the author handled it. There was a point near the very end where I was scared the novel was taking a turn for the worst, especially cuz it seemed the author was rushed to end it, but the seemingly nonsensical actions all ended up making sense and wrapped up nicely in the end. I also love endings that go full circle to the beginning, but their relationship has wholly changed and developed from the beginning in comparison to the end. I liked it a lot! Good ending! The main characters had both suffered from tragic backgrounds, both traumatized and trying to heal. It is carefully handled throughout the story, and their relationship with each other and other friends made along the way is written just right. I loved the MC, I loved the ML, I loved all the friends.

My favorite chara is def Wei Jaiyu, which I did not expect at all, starting out, because he’s introduced as a rich snob who looks down on the poorer students. (But in truth he’s just so awkward and a total weeb and its so cute). Highly recommend!!! Also sidenote: the author is Long Qi. I didnt realize this till much later. I love all her works. <<less

The story does well at giving me an existential crisis because it questions existence and creation and all that, but boy do I really like that.

The arcs are all very interesting and have plots of their own but there is an ongoing plot throughout that ties it all together and also keeps the story from becoming repetitive. Each arc/world was a fun dogblood story, and basically the MC paddling x number of boats, though one arc in particular grabbed my heart and refused to let go. I think about it even when I’m just sitting around or standing in the shower. That is, the Collapsed God arc. I won’t say anymore.

God-tier story-telling and plot twists imo. Overall, this is an amazing fic. The ending could’ve been a little less rushed but it’s not as bad as many other webnovels and wraps up very nicely with the exception on maybe two small plotholes but they’re not major and they also left room for some theorizing and headcanons for the audience to do for themselves so not bad at all. I highly, highly recommend!!! 

One line could sum up most of this WN, “Two things were always true: Jiang Xie loves Xie Xi, and Xie Xi is a scum male.”  <<less

The author is obsessed with cats. This whole webnovel is actually about cats. When writing about the big villain, his cat Qiu Qiu distracted him and thus the villain would inevitably have cat-characteristics and be based off Qiu Qiu. 

It all comes full circle in the end and plot holes are filled nicely. Super cute cat cuddling moments and MC spoiling cat ML. I would definitely recommend to cat lovers becuz I immensely enjoyed this simply becuz of all the cute cuddly moments and the translator’s cat gifs. <<less

I also liked that both MC and ML had a system and immediately informed the other about it, which was a pretty unique way of dealing with it. From there they dealt with their systems together and with barely any of the systems’ interference, they fell for each other. Very cute; I recommend if you want a chaser from plot-heavy or angsty novels. <<less

The MC is a very good person but not in an annoying white lotus sort of way, just that he has a sense of kindness and becuz of that he doesn’t want to follow the script that requires him to hurt the ML.

It’s also funny when MC tries to seriously be a slag shou but the plot or ML keeps wiping his rep clean. All in all, it’s a good mix of fluffy and angsty, and sprinkled with humorous elements. I highly recommend!  <<less
