Horror/Survival Playlist
A list of novels that fall under the horror/survival genre with some recommended songs that I personally listened to while reading them, to enhance the mood. Some of them are more serious, some are have more comedy. All should fall under the genre though. Mostly BL because that's usually what these novels are. The songs are just for people who like listening to music while reading and want some recs. And to serve as a reminder to me next time I reread.

I wish more people would read this novel. It's so, so good. A lot of gore and kind of horrifying, made me sick at times, but it was a very entertaining and intriguing read. The songs I listened to most while reading this are "Now That Were Alone" by The Peoples Thieves, "Clouds" by NF, and "Overwhelmed" by Royal & the Serpent. I've reread the available chapters for this novel alot and am waiting for the completed translation to finish. I have to say, the arcs only seem to get better, which is amazing. The tone of this novel is more survival than horror. But that's not bad, just means the music changes a bit. Songs I listened to while reading are "Everything Black" by Unlike Pluto, "Every Step that I Take" by Tom Morello & Whethan, and "Darkside" and "Even if it Hurts" both by Sam Tinnesz. I always go back and reread this. Its such a good novel. It has a bit of a cynical sort of horror to it, almost sarcastic. Almost comedic, to be fair. So the songs I listened to are more light, yet still kind of creepy to keep the tone. The songs are: "Bang" by AJR, "Happy Face" by Jagwar Twin, "Don't Be Sad" Tate McRae, and "The End is Near" by Chuxx Morris. I think they fit the tone rather well. ... more>>
