This is MXTX first work that she wrote in HIGH SCHOOL, so it's UNDERSTANDABLE that there's a lot of LACKING in this novel and not as ideal as MDZS or HOB. To me, this novel is still written beautifully, something a lot of other authors couldn't. While most people complained about the dubious MC and ML's romance, about the passivity of the MC towards the ML that makes the romance seems heavily one-sided, because the MC even to the 90% of the novel has always been regarding the ML as a mere "protagonist", a mere "golden thigh" he needs to hug to survive. The lacks of MC's acknowledgement about his feelings make many readers feel the "ship" is fragile. The addition of r*pe in the end of the novel, and the ML's yandere, didn't help either etc, etc. 

However, for me, what disturbed and bothered me the most is not those points. 

I read this like 3 years ago, in 2018. I didn't find it disturbing back then, and in fact I really liked it. But nowadays, I realized, horrified, that this novel is actually a straightway transmigration novel where MC guided by a system had robbed/used a body, identity, position, achievements, abilities, and contacts from a person, yeah, a character in the novel is still a real person in their world.

I didn't blame the MC, he himself never wanted to transmigrate at the first place. But really, the whole transmigration process was disturbing when you think and realize the reality about it.

Imagine, you worked your asses off from childhood, finally you became a successful enterpreneur, but because you've seen a lot in the world you become the type of that stingy, calculative, and sly fox bussinessman that others hate....only for you to suddenly die? Nope, the original person in Scum Villain here merely fainted and had a high fever before the transmigration began, and then your body, identity, achievements, contacts, and everything was used by a stranger, and that stranger who didn't experience even a little bit of your hardship decided to become a kind, amiable philanthropist everyone praised and flattered for.

How do you feel? It's really...disturbing, right? 

The original good didn't die out of resentment, he didn't die wishing for something, nor he had a revenge he needed to get help from a new soul to avenge. The original host didn't even die, his faint and fever was suspiciously an event to insert a new soul in his body. It'd be better if he just die, died, and his body should have been burried, and at least that way he'd got someone who mourned for him. But instead, some f*ck up system decided to bring Shen Yuan (MC) and make him live in the original host's body, for... what? The reason is bizarre, and this is one of the lacking things I mentioned earlier, that ended up making the transmigration dynamic felt uncomfortable because some strings are not tied up properly.  <<less

Why did I read this? Certainly because I want to eat melon seeds, eager to see drama, LOL. This novel is very good if you deliberately wanted to read rebirth revenge, especially the revenge is towards the Original Protagonist in some novel/world who is actually a Black Lotus Mary Sue. ... more>>

However, because the author had something in her RL, all of the prepared foreshadow and teaser for the upcoming plot was abandoned, and the ending was rushed.
