Sect Novels
I am a big fan of the "sect" genre. Here I will list a few of my favourite novels of the genre. These novels
- feature a protagonist that is a cultivator of a sect
- describe the development (or decline) of the sect
- involve master/disciple and seniority-based relationships
- play with the passing of passing of time and span across hundred of years
At the bottom I also list "false friends", novels which don't fulfill the promise of their title and fall short the glorious genre of sect novels.
[The order is random, but I read and enjoyed all of them for at least 1000 pages.]

Another one of those "I guess this counts?" sect novels. The MC is part of a sect and talks about how he wants to resurrect his sect, but for the most time his sect doesn't play a role.
