Instead of OP CEO or arrogant and domineering ML, these precious MLs need coaxing and feel inferior to the MC (or vice versa in some cases). EVEN THOUGH THEY'RE SO PRECIOUS AND DESERVE THE WORLD!! Most of them are insecure and afraid their partner will leave or no longer like them due to their flaws/illness/background/past/etc. There is a lot of pampering, coaxing, understanding, and healing in these beautiful stories. I've tried to put similar setting/vibe stories together so the list is easier to navigate. BG in the first half and BL in the second half :)
Recently I've seen more recommendation lists on this trope and I'm SOOO HAPPY that these beautiful stories are finally getting some appreciation!! I'll do my best to also find some less popular gems for you all to read >.< Please also comment any stories you would like me to add!
*also, I know I sorta write more for some novels, less for others. It honestly depends on my mood & memory of the novel. So don't feel discouraged about the ones I write less on, they're all well written books :) I also try to only include novels that are 4 stars and above, unless I REALLY think that the story deserves wayyyy more.

Absolutely everything I was looking for. The ML was so abused and tormented (physically and mentally) that he felt like he wasn't fit to touch the MC at all. His past made him feel very "dirty" while the MC had a very clean and abstinent reputation. I feel the need to thank you for the list.
I'm still upset that there is no tag for this kind of novel... it's always "strong love interest" that says anything and nothing all the same.
This list really saves me a lot of effort in searching one by one through warped summaries and spoiling reviews.
Suggestion: Those Years in Quest of Honour Mine
The ML has a lot of insecurities and everytime thinks MC may leave him but ML keeps pushing MC away to protect him. A few times ML thought that MC left him forever, he just broke... living like the living dead

Btw I'm not 100% sure but I'm fairly certain that in the Dandere General novel, the ML actually hasn't experienced r*pe. I think it's mentioned that he somehow made it this far without having to sexually serve someone, and at one point where it seemed like he would have to, he became depressed because of it. Thankfully, the MC noticed and prevented it. Hopefully that wasn't spoilery to others xD
