Technically no romance, but one of my favorite things about this is the "potential MLs." as in, male friends MC is close with who are all compelling characters--and she has chemistry with them, but there is no actual romance between any of them. MC is a single queen with a life ahead of her that she's planning to live to the fullest. Very rereadable too.  <<less

~10.5/10 Yes, i know the title is strange af, but this is the BEST cyberpunk novel i've read. there's a reason it's so popular in chinese websites and it's because this is a no romance story with a badass, ruthless, intelligent MC with ALSO plenty of amazing worldbuilding and high stakes. MC comes with one goal--to survive--and goes through nearly anything to achieve it. MC is handicapped and can't really walk, and in an apocalyptic world (this is sort of apocalypse unlimited flow mash up), you can certainly imagine JUST how dangerous that is. add that to her shitty backstory, and you get a bitter and mean girl who can lash out often and doesn't always help innocent people. she's not a holy mother or a particularly good person--but she certainly is a layered and flawed human, and this sets her up for some great development in the future! ML plays a big part in this story and i honestly liked their relationship and their sort of push and pull on how they would disagree but still work together. The "worlds" they experience and the solutions they make are also very unique and enjoyable to go through. <<less

~10.5/10 I will forever be disappointed by the low amount of readers here. This is one amazing fmc detective novel where the past plays a big role. introducing MC as a policewoman, as we follow her through criminal cases and interactions, gradually learning more and more about her past, her character, and her goals. I honestly really enjoyed how the author beautifully connected her past and all of her relationships. We see how she changed from how she was as a kid to how she is as an adult. how a girl who once wanted to be a rich CEO of a company decided to become a police. The impact her father had on her--and... more>> many other kids' lives. MC is such an easy character to get attached to, and i honestly found this to be a very emotional and well-written story. 

Also, i feel like even the romance wasn't the most needed--I personally liked it, but it didn't play as big of a part as i thought it would and took a backseat towards the end (it was more prevalent in the beginning). but either way i liked the romance.  <<less

This is such a unique story in many ways IMO--MC is not from a particularly strong or prevalent family, nor is she overwhemingly OP. she's just one girl growing in her boudoir with plenty of other female cousins perhaps just as or even more stand-out than her--until she suddenly gains the memories of her older self. This is a story filled with all sorts of politics within the family and between families, expanding to a very, very large and intertwined web that is beautifully developed. one of the main things is MC sort of discovering the mysteries of her past--why... more>> things went as badly as they had, and why her family met the fate they had. Does a very well job of making both her and the reader VERY aware of just how weak/delicate she/her position is by virtue of her being a young boudoir girl whose family ultimately will not care for very much. 

and (SPOILER ALERT) one of my favorite things was that, before she found herself back in the past, her fate wasn't actually some kind of overfilled revenge where she gets endlessly backstabbed--but it isn't very nice either. In her first life, her sister gets the violent death, tricked to be married to a violent man who, after she fights against him, quite literally throws her into a military camp--and i think most people can derive what happens to a woman under such a situation. her sister self-immolates, and their parents die one after another. MC gets betrothed to an old man who harms his wives/concubines, and tries to run away, but is caught and sent instead to serve an powerful eunuch, who ab*ses her. But a family friend (of her father's i believe?) takes pity on her and takes her in as a wife (no romantic/untoward intentions at all) and honestly just lets her learn and read books and be freer. It is in this life that MC learns a lot--and I can see why. tbh i found this first life of hers very interesting.  <<less

I found this to be a wonderful mix of comedy and actually good plot with lots of details. I think this *was* also pretty low stakes with a sort of OP MC tho, so warning. <<less

cons: ML, so far, 225 chapters in, is the flattest character ever. he quite literally has shown himself to be nothing but the stereotypical stoic but capable and strong high ranking figure and he's just so...plain. Not to mention that it really felt like in the beginning that MC was getting rescued by ML quite often and the skill/power gap between them is very prevalent, with ML being much more powerful. and, well, MC doesn't feel like the most developed character to me either. yes, she's funny, she's cute, she's capable, but i still don't feel much emotional ties or attachment to her and feel like she could be more layered. tbh I found this to be a pretty surface level story, but that doesn't mean it wasn't entertaining!.  <<less

MC here is a clever, down-to-earth, and compelling apothecary who finds herself sold off to become servant in the ancient china type rear palace (concubine) drama. no transmigration. but it's not really drama--it's politics and MYSTERY! MC solves many mysteries in the palace as politics brews in the background (which she will also eventually be a part of). love the MC, the mystery, the ML (romance *is* pretty big here), and the plot. MC is a delightfully layered, quirky, and enjoyable character with a fascinating past that visibly contributes to her experiences and knowledges as an apothacary. <<less
