The original didn't do anything wrong! MC slowly uncovers deep rooted plots as he runs away from his brothers, who may or may not actually harbor ill will for him. He does this by holding onto ML's golden thigh, which also conveniently serves as a way to stay by his side and protect him. This silly sweet man comes to truly care for ML while earnestly trying to protect him, while ML falls completely for his sincerity. <<less

However, MC is single minded and optimistic. Even as he is shoveled into piles of manure, he is somehow able to endure and retain his pure and unfailing mindset. His bottom line is refreshed again and again, but he remains focused on his goal and is able to adapt to very unfavorable circumstances in order to live on. On one hand, he's a silly sweet chatterbox. On the other, he is one of the strongest protagonists I've ever seen in terms of willpower, focus, and adaptability.

I love the character development, but I also love MC's natural temperament. To be a scheming b*stard, you need the skills to seduce and hook people- and MC is very, very charming. In the end, MC learns of sincerity while retaining that charismatic and difficult personality- and it is a pleasure to witness.

That said, some of the other arcs are amazing, such as 1) the cold, poison tongued martial artist(?) mistakenly bound to system and transmigrated into a 'black' idol & 2) the system arc (yes, a system becomes the host!) <<less

You start out blaming the scummy gong, then turn around and realize how heartless MC is. He seems like such a callous, insensitive tr*sh who easily plays with feelings and lies with nary a thought. Moreover, he treats everything like a game, because it IS a game. To him, NPC's are simply there for his frivolous amus**ent. Yet, despite how well he may be versed in emotional manipulation, he has little experience with love. Stated correctly, he does not wish to fall in love and believes himself unworthy of it. Hence, he remains unaware of how emotionally invested he becomes in something he initially regarded as a plaything, simple data, nothing more... 

MC truly becomes more rounded and fleshed out as the novel progresses. The last chapter is a short snippet on his past... and it is truly a gem that wrenches your heart one last time and makes you want to re-read all over again. I did not expand on ML's character here, so as to avoid spoilers, but he is actually such a humble lover- who will dedicate everything to the one who owns his heart. <<less

Yet his little actions to avoid ML and his carefree, tolerant, and lazy personality causes the plot to twist and turn... Until he becomes somewhat of a man magnet. Most of the comedy and laughs come from the entanglement between MC and ML's original "harem" members (who are technically not part of a harem because ML remains ice cold and only dedicated to cultivation in the novel). It is a hilarious and exciting ride through if you want a rollercoaster of humor and romance that leaves you feeling lighthearted. <<less

The ascetic workaholic CEO of an entertainment company wakes up as the scum Alpha president in a dog blood abuse novel, who later ends up stabbed to death by the blackened protagonist shou. Tasked with gaining 100 favorability points, he decides to protect this little seedling from all harm and never let him enter the th**ny path of abuse and hardship from the original novel. Such gentle care and nourishment undoubtedly wins the favor of the little omega, and their relationship expands on the principles of respect and unconditional support. This is a rare favorite in the POV of the gong, but the perspective of the shou is interspersed throughout and provides a very complete and wholesome picture from both ends. Truly heartwarming.
