I’m someone who dislikes romance and harem—it's not because I'm forever single xD, but because WOMEN ARE SO DAMN HARD TO KILL!!! OMG come on....!!!
I know this clashes with reality since most readers love female characters, but that’s exactly why I avoid romance. At
the very least, if killing women is too difficult, then keep them far away from the MC!
That’s why this list only includes manhwa/manhua with ZERO romance by the final chapter. How do I know? By using AI, of course :V—you think I’ve got no life to read every novel? :V The criteria? The criteria? CHECK AROUND THE NOVEL'S ENDING CHAPTERS!. Why? Because if there’s a girl close to the MC (romance), IT SHOULD SHOW UP BY THE

If not, are women really this lowly :( ? Why do so many of them always

Zero romance = no wives, no marriage, MC has zero interest in anyone. List may not be perfect, but close enough!

BTW, there are several non-romance manhwa adaptations whose novels aren't on NovelUpdate yet. Here's the list:
-Han Dae Seong Came Back From Hell (180ch) :No romance (clue : Someone told the MC: 'Go find yourself a pretty girlfriend already!)
-Limitless Ascension: Strength Amid Adversity :No romance (Clue: The novel's description straight-up says: No heroine. No harem. )
-I Reincarnated As The Crazed HeirI Reincarnated As The Crazed Heir: So for this manhwa, I analyzed the final 5 chapters of the novel - no romance scenes shown, with proof being the MC telling his friends (not a harem): 'I just want all of you to laugh with me under a peaceful sun' in the last chapter. Though of course, there's still that one female character who kinda likes the MC, as usual. Really, if there was supposed to be romance, the story should have made it clear by now.
-Sword God Dragon Sword God Dragon : Analysis from chapters 186-199 shows that the MC has a daughter who is an 'experiment,' and it is never mentioned that the MC has a wife. Also, the grandchild is not the MC’s grandchild, and at the end, someone confesses their love to that grandchild.
-Son, Make Trouble Quickly : In this manhua adaptation of the novel, the last 6 chapters show zero romance. The body the MC transmigrated into previously had a wife (now deceased), which is only briefly mentioned in the final 2 chapters. By the end, there's no hint of the MC developing feelings for anyone - his focus remains solely on father-child love. The MC's system in this story works similarly to Limitless Ascension: Strength Amid Adversity.
-Divine DeliveryDivine Delivery: This story is short, no romance—the closest relationship is with a spirit, like when the MC feels lonely without it. But it’s more like a companion than anything else. At the end of the story, there's only one woman, and even she just comes to pick up the MC.T
Okay, thanks for your statement BUT I checked chapters 804 to 820 (the final chapters) and there's ZERO romance indication. Though there was that woman whose belly got enlarged by the MC lol - but that was just his skill making bellies bigger (ch.147-149). And yeah, she ended up liking him but the MC couldn't care less, dude's 100% focused on cultivation.
Then in ch.285-286, some mother-daughter duo tried to seduce him for [censored], but he refused. Well... he kinda changed his mind later but it was probably just joking around since they completely disappear after ch.804-820.
Final stats: 80% male cast, 20% female - and only ONE woman actually likes him. The rest are either his disciples or just respect him.
And btw, you actually read up to those chapters? Wow wow wow, respect!
@Marouan270 Hey, regarding the latest novel update - there's actually a *** scene. But that female character is completely absent by the ending. That's exactly why I mentioned in the title description that most manhua don't really respect female characters - they're not even referenced in the finale despite having romance elements :) Hah, this kinda story exists in manhwa Murim Wild West too - where the MC also *** and that woman doesn't appear in the ending either... because she died. Bro, isn't reverend insanity a Manhua? It's a Chinese novel and all...
And honestly what I would expect in "no romance" novel is like the premise in Reverend Insanity. Author doesn't feel it's necessary to create Female characters just for the sake of proving Male MC's charm. Like they make almost 9/10 females char smitted with the male MC. E.g. He meets this cold female character that has no male friends, ain't close to any male creature. But somehow he melts her cold heart, and suddenly she realizes that she really likes the MC. Next time she meets this warrior wamen. Strong, beautiful, independent and all. Suddenly she sees the MC in action. Never before has she seen someone stronger than him. Okay! her heart decides that he's the ONE! :)
Another premise in Male protag stories. If you observe closely. Somehow, 99.9% female characters that appears in the story are all strikingly beautiful, glamorous, pretty, amorous, you name it all. Then the .01% is ugl- but oh! she's actually hiding her appearance and is actually in possession of the legendary beauty that could destroy nations :)))). IN CONTRAST. 90% of male characters (that isn't the MC) are either old, grizzled, uncle with a pot belly, smelly, inhuman in visual. Then the 9.9% are handsome but they either ignorant, mommy's boy, reckless etc. etc.
Like, BRO, where's the equality there??? Can't there just be a female/male character that is neutral in character appearance. They ain't just created to be a contrast to how handsome, manly, powerful the MC is and their relationship doesn't revolve around MC????? I mean, yea, story revolves around the protagonist but can't they have their own life, that if the mc isn't in their circle, they suddenly can't cope and will just die? :)
Another good example I could say for No Romance(female and male are NORMAL characters :) ) is Chronicles of the Primordial wars(it's a Manhua cuz Chinese novel). In that story, Female characters are just female characters. Same with the other male characters or some other female living creature that just wants to LIVE THEIR OWN LIVES. They aren't CURSED by the author's hand to have a passive to be unappealing to serve as a contrast the the MC's youthful rizz handsomeness or only be attracted to the Male MC as if there's no other male creature on earth.
It's so hard to find novel that I want... An author Lazy Clique(the one who wrote Chronicle of the Primordial Wars, I read all their works already) makes just the right no romance novel, why can't I find others like that!!!
I completely agree with your arguments, but this is the reality we have to accept :).
I think this happens because many readers love beautiful women :) and having lots of attractive female characters guarantees more readers XD. It's hard to imagine an author spending effort writing hundreds of chapters only to get few readers.
From readers perspective, I believe many fantasize about "saving women" to feel like heroes, and we do live in a patriarchal world - thats probably part of the reason :)
That's why we, as slightly different readers XDD who want gender equality, need to check our egos - or just write our own novels if we can't XD
