It also scratches an inch I have about authority figures, specifically teachers, being responsible and empathetic towards their students. His dad really raised him well.

Reluctant but Responsible Adult nurturing the first generation of Academy graduate hunters while unraveling the complicated web of conspiracy that caused dungeon collapse around the world in the future. 

The solid bond between father and son was the real highlight of everything tho.

Honestly, I love the family dynamic here since the relationship between step mom and step son are more of room mates at first. Not only is it refreshing to have a teenage son as the child in question, but I love how the step mom knows how teenagers blow things out of proportion. And that despite what his teenage rebel son thinks, his father does know him very well.  

Not to mention the tacit understanding between husband and wife. I love a couple whose EQ level is very high that they make genre savvy moments even more hilarious with how outsiders are already speculating in the background but they already solved any possible misunderstanding with one conversation over the phone. 

Really love how the family of three interact and grow closer.
