I'm not going to give it a rating as it is too early. The uniqueness of this story is that the main character is a zombie, that's probably obvious with the title but what I mean is that being a zombie is the only uniqueness as of right now. The MC still has the mind of a human the way in which they become stronger isn't that special either, normal cultivation. But the aspects of the zombie are present as of right now. The MC is hurt by Sunlight so... more>> he has difficulty as he can only move at night, and the first enemies are Taoist who use charms and stuff. Finally the MC a zombie and doesn't look like a human so he won't be able to interact with them except in the sense of them trying to kill him.

I believe that if the Taoist are the human equivalent of the human cultivator it might be interesting to read as it will create a more unique fighting scenes. if however he finds a way to disguise himself to be able walk among the humans then I feel a large part of its small amount of uniqueness will be lost. <<less

Reading the title and prologue you would think about something new to the cultivation novels, a zombie MC! Destined to be on dark side, being sidecasted for being a zombie and other interesting and innovative things, right? No. I was expecting that he being a zombie would barely be relevant, and unfortunately it seems I was right. All other characters are just cannon fodder, without any depth or inteligence.

Author skills are, at most, mediocre. He fails at building tention, creating depth or dialogues. Plus those ret*rded numbers that chineses seems to love. <<less

looks potentially interesting at first glance. But the MC is a moron with plot armor. Also he flip flop between two states

1. Panicking and doing something extremely foolish (or just freezing in fear or indecision) while bemoaning his modern day sensibilities

2. Behaving in a calm-decisive-ruthless manner

... more>> This flip flop between the two states is jarring. Moreover, it cannot be attributed to character development, since it is both too abrupt, and because he keeps on going back and forth between the two states.

The translation (by novels & chills) sadly looks like barely edited machine translation.

Also, he mostly interacts with wild animals and it just hurts so much to read how the author is so clueless about animal interactions. He writes them as if they are human gangsters. With the wolf pack/bear/giant beetle being angry at not being given face by the MC and thus suicidally fighting to the death of all of pack members.

Those are explicitly level 1 animals who have yet to awaken their intellect and are explicitly animal level intellect. Yet can somehow comprehend/care about not being given face despite being dumb animals. And somehow will refuse to retreat no matter how many of them die. <<less

I find it hilarious and ironic. A Zombie using techniques of a Exorcist and Corpse Cultivator. How funny would it be if he became the head of the Monk Sect? So far it's good but it could change later. It has potential!

I like that he's doing this all for the sake of dating a Fairy and becoming a Immortal.

Other then that, the Translations really need editing and polishing. The MC background story was pretty pathetic. P*rn Addict and Door Sells-man. Why do most CNs go like that? I... more>> can't tell whether he was serious in 'raping a woman and drinking her blood' after that. I think he was joking. There are things I don't understand due to the Translation errors.

I did this review for the sake of more views and to give this Novel a chance. It's still to soon to judge.

It's a very good novel to pass some time. The plot is between good and mediocre. There's no wordiness.

MC indeed once did a s*upid thing, but it wasn't a plot hole because the author knew it and mentioned that it could perhaps be a side effect of being a zombie, as you know zombies have slow brain. And it only happened once, I'm sure the author would later decide not to bring up the slow brain thing again because it could ruin the plot if it happens a lot. Unfortunately, the translator suddenly dropped the novel without giving any info. And no one picked it up up until now. I'm still eagerly waiting for someone to pick it up, patiently and silently.

It's quite interesting and a different take on the whole cultivation genre. But translations need editing and revising. Rough around the edges but much better than mtl. Waiting for more chapters to read in order for a proper review, as I want to see how the author continues the plot and characters.
