This is a story that is this level of publication, in fact, it has been said that this author is very famous in his genre (xuanhuan) and has published his novels.

Some say the novel starts out slow, I honestly didn't consider it that way, I suppose it's a matter of perspective and what you really want to read, how immersed you want to be in each scene of the novel.

Unfortunately I never had the opportunity to finish reading it, but the first chapters already tell you what role some characters... more>> are going to have.

The problem that I did not finish reading it was because some readers ruined my reading experience with so much spoiler and someone posted a comment by the author, which by the way was what made me lose interest in the story.

The author said that he did not want to have a happy ending since his novels always ended with one. I understand it, the problem is that I was afraid that the author would "take control" of the characters so that it would end up like this instead of the characters telling him that it was what they really wanted, I was afraid that it was just the author's whim. Well I'll never find out if its course was natural or not.

It is really great actually the side ccharacters had some depth and personality and the plot is unique. But Im a student and I read one chap or two in intervals. So it is a bit serious for me. Not a light read. And ... more>>

Author tries to describe mc's feelings but I always tend to skip them so after a lot of skipping I lost interest and started another novel but this one was dropped. Sorry for bad English ? <<less

One of my favourite Chinese novels. I can kind of understand why people don't like this because the author likes to drag things out. Although not everything was meaningful I still really enjoyed it. Can't really understand why people are rating this 1-2 stars though. It's probably a 3.5-4 minimum as an overall story, well up to where I'm at anyway.

The storytelling is actually really good. The best part of this story is the world-building and how fleshed out the characters are. The overwhelming majority of characters actually have actual... more>> development and believable reasoning behind their actions/inaction. You can understand why antagonists act the way they do.

Well I don't understand why the demon traitor decided to do what he did after the way he was treated. The overwhelming sincerity shown to him over many years wasn't equivalent to 2 actions by the first Emperor... Then to just go and get himself killed a few chapters later =.="

There are a lot of twists and turns throughout that completely surprised me. The MC is a bit iffy for me though. I'm up to the end of what I believe to be a major arc in the story. After 600 ish chapters, I still don't quite understand where the MC's overwhelming confidence in himself earlier on comes from. Maybe because he's mostly a blank slate who only really interacted with his brother on a regular basis. Tang 36 and the MC's dynamic early on in the story actually reminds me of a bit of Bam and Khun's.
