Not sure where all these people saying the love is one-sided. The mc's love certainly begins one-sided but a few chapters in and we are constantly being hinted on her growing affection to the MC. If you are sick of garbage harems and want to read a fantasy slice of life with an OP protag and light romance, I wholly recommend this to you.

The romance progress might seem slow to some but you'll notice that she does show hints as the story goes on. Since this is a novel is centered around the romance between the two of them, you can't honestly expect her to fall in love with him in just like several chapters. To be honest I enjoyed reading the development between the two rather than stories whereby the girls fall in love with the MC within just a few chapters.

Besides it's an enjoyable read, light and fluffy. Give it a... more>> try if you're looking for an escape from all those novels where all the girls throw themselves at the MC for no particular reason. <<less

Like DDark said, it is not a one sided romance. It might look that way in the start but she does show signs as the story goes. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a nice, romance comedy.

I really like this

its funny

No cheap stuff like SUDDEN HAREMS or HAREM attribute

there is not much fanservice

the females other than love interest arent one dimesional... even tho initially they might APPEAR that way..... so it didnt commit one of the most common shounen sins DESPITE being a VERY light read and comedy

its just good creative romantic comedy with characters who might seem shallow for comedic sense but turn out not to be when needed.

I once read someone describe this novel as a true reincarnation story and I'm inclined to agree with them after some consideration. The reason being is that It's not some grand plot behind the reincarnation nor is there a big plot about a great evil. Its just about a guy trying to get with the girl he likes.

Its a excellent slice of life novel that I would recommend to anyone who wants a nice slice of life novel

It's sorta meh. The author has a tendency to make the MC do stupid things and drag him through the mud for the sake of comedy. At first it wasn't too bad and kinda funny but after a while I just started feeling sorry for him. The romance is the biggest culprit of this and is the worst aspect of the novel. Extremely drawn out, unrealistic, and unsatisfying. This is a really bad thing since the romance is a huge part if not the main focus. It's a rom-com, yes,... more>> yet the author obviously wants you take it seriously but just while laughing. It's not possible though, it's too ridiculous.

Spoiler

Basically it is one-sided. Yeah people say there are hints but its nothing concrete at all, their relationship has pretty much stayed the same since the beginning (a.k.a no developments) so it doesn't matter. The MC is hardcore friend-zoned and is stringed along by the heroine after his confession which was right at the start. Yes she's really nice to the MC but shes nice to everybody as well enemies, so it does't come off as anything special even if she does something extra for him. Plus it's just not believable for someone to take months to figure out if they like someone or not, especially with all the time they spend together. She has very firm grasp of who the MC is as person yet its still dragged out. Not even pre-teens would take that long. The story doesn't have to end if they get together, there could be so much more.

But the amount of time its taking has really killed the suspense, completely. There's no pay off at the this point. Something as simple as this should never be drawn out this long. If she were to suddenly fall in love with MC after all this time for some reason it would be like "whatever finally".

What it makes even more ridiculous is that the MC never doubts it, he has a cartoon level of love for the heroine for no real reason. Everytime he spends time with her its like he's achieved some life goal, and it just comes off as stupid and sad. He shows no interest in any other females at all despite initially only being attracted to the heroine just because of her looks (this would never happen, he would be going after more women too). Nor does any other women show interest in him. Not saying he has to have a harem (definitely no), but its just so sad. Especially when you consider how EVERYONE else around him is liked by someone and the author constantly reminds you of this.

The author has taken the exact opposite of the typical harem route. Instead of girls automatically falling in love with the MC and chasing after him endlessly without doubts or any reciprocated feelings, its the MC chasing after the single heroine. And guess what? It's just as bad and unbelievable. At this point, I think it'd be a billion times more interesting to see the MC try to move on and see some new developments instead of the perpetual p***yfooting.

[collapse]

With that said, I do really admire how the MC actually has personality and does things himself, something that's very rare in isekai novels. The side characters as well have just enough depth to not be one dimensional and somewhat believable. The way the character interact is very well written too, you can really feel their personalities through their dialogue and actions which is also very rare.

The rest of the story itself isn't too bad. It's more than rom-com, it has some serious stuff going on to. But there are inconsistencies at times, primarily dealing with the MC power level.

Spoiler

The author will sometimes conveniently forget that the MC can insta KO the hero party that took down the Demon Lord handily. The worst instance of this is vol 2 during mission to get magic ores. The MC should be able to take out the final monster easily even from the inside without protection yet was too afraid to do it. And its not like he was holding back or trying hide his power, he completely forgot who he was. "I'm happy my friends are here just in case sometthing goes wrong". Lol If he can't handle it then his friends shouldn't be able to do anything at all, the gap in power is that much. It just bad storytelling.

I also find it odd how no one has approached the MC to join his party as an adventurer despite him rising through the ranks super quick by himself, even though asking people to join your party is established to be normal, he seems to be invisible to other adventurers.

Was fairly good up to ch14. That wen I dropped it cus MC is like nah im not guna kill the guy that just 'almost' killed some little girl. Like seriusly man? Typical japanese MC. Jap MCs have no spines. Chinese ones are sociopath arogant slaughterers. I think ill stick to the moderate korena ones. Lol still a great read if u dont mind that part. (:

If you are looking for romance, this novel will disappoint, because the MC has a one-side love for the female lead. Since the female does not return his love, he just move on and at least try for a harem. However, disregarding the lack romance, the novel is funny with a nice slice-of-life story. There has been some action, but it feels like the action will become prevalent later on in the story. The MC is powerful, but has not shown his powers much.

Reviewed as of chapter 16

Couple Growth – this tag is highly misleading. The main “couple” of the novel are NOT a couple by any stretch of imagination and as of yet still appear to be far off from achieving that status. This is NOT a novel about two people who are together getting to know each other better, this is a novel about a guy who has one-sidedly fallen in love with a girl and is trying his best to win her over.

If you are not a fan of one-sided... more>> relationships where the guy tries his best to win the girl and the girl is just passively receiving that affection yet not returning any of it, then this novel might not be the best pick for you.

Smart female lead – I find it hard to justify this tag. So far the main heroine hasn’t displayed any cognitive capabilities that would differentiate her from any other absolutely common person.

Male lead: in spite of having overwhelming powers, he’s rather mentally weak. I know that sometimes protagonist’s power bows down to the power of tropes for whatever reason, but there’s such a number of such tropes in this novel that the main protagonist appears powerless most of the time, unless facing someone who’s absolutely evil.

I will refrain from rating this novel since it turned out to be completely different from what I was expecting based on the tags and description provided, and if I did end up rating it, the rating would be rather bad.

EDIT: I forgot to add, while this novel does not contain any NTR as of yet, it does have the distinct NTR-ish feeling to it, seeing as the main heroine is overwhelmingly popular and there is a rather forcefully behaving rival to our main protagonist, who will without a doubt cause some trouble for the main couple in the future. <<less

v1c06 (part 3)

That is where I stopped reading.

I made an investment of time and hope in this LN and ive gotta say I just can't grow to like the MC.

... more>> Seems every chapter he's on his knees or lower in front of his love interest or her mom.

This MC is not manly at all. It should have been YURI. I probably would have enjoyed it a bit more that way. His Character works better as a female. I'm not even a huge fan of gay literature or media, it's just that's what I believe this should have been. Does the MC have to be "Manly"... No, not really. I guess when I see Stronger than the "Demon Lord" and "Hero"... I tend to expect a guy with a spine. One good thing I can say about this is that at the start he did not discriminate against men or women when fighting. He recognized both men and women in their efforts to fight and did not look down on the females. I thought that was pretty cool. <<less

I'm being generous when I give this novel a 3. It's not quite a 3, but it's definitely not as bad as a 2. This is the kind of novel for someone who has no taste in any kind of main character with back bone. The romance, at least as far as I read, is one-sided. Also, this novel is filled with overused, cliche anime tropes. I enjoy a good romance, but this I something I regret reading. If you're not ready to see a pathetic main character (who is... more>> OP) whose love gets rejected, and who gets cockblocked around every corner, this is not the novel for you. <<less

Its heartwarming to read this novel. A story where the MC is trying hard to win the girl he loves wholeheartedly. He doesn't think of a harem instead he focuses on only one which is a genuine love from my own view point. Work hard MC!

this is a romcom with fantasy elements. No action, and no romance between the main 2 characters

a complete waste of time if you actually want to see the MC make any progress in a relationship. Its actually kind of depressing seeing how happy he is to be nothing more than a friend toward his love interest.

if you can't tell the difference between romance and friendship in a romance novel, its not f*cking romance. The girl refuses to be in a relationship for NO reason, and yet we are supposed to... more>> believe she has feelings for him? What is the goddamn point of reading a romance novel if nothing happens. Its all just bullsh*t plot devices to trick you into wasting time. Dont read this novel if you want romance between the MC and the cleric girl. <<less

I liked the story and the different characters to some extent. Don't really like the MC and his down in the dumps attitude he takes with the heroine but it's understandable.

The romance is slowly developing as it is hinted that she might have feelings for him. Though I'm slightly worried about the end of the first part of chapter 4 as I drew the conclusion that her interacting with him might not be because she has feeling for him but she's just playing the "saint" role. I'm most likely wrong... more>> but I like to hope for the best and expect the worst.

No harem here just one guy who only loves one girl and his battle to make her love him as well. Cute setting and it's all mostly comedy with some serious moments, maybe only one, here and there which don't really mix well with the tone of the novel.

One thing that does bother me is that we're told that the MC is OP but not really shown. I feel like even the previous scuffle he had he wasn't being serious so that's always in my head. <<less

Well, you know, this is fluffy as it gets. Albeit not as much as other truly fluffy stories, but the romance is definitely a good one.

I skimmed the good ratings of this novel and made me read this. And what I got? Good romance and good MC and Female lead. It is really different than those heavy isekai stories. And since this has some fluffiness, it is really great that this novel can heal your soul from reading those heavy novels; in other words, a breather novel so to speak.

I like transported to another worlds and there's finally one I can enjoy without a harem that reminds you every 5 seconds it's there. It's a cute story where the male protagonist gets closer and closer to romancing her, but sometimes something interferes with his progress. The best part is there's action as well and it does not only focus on the main two love birds.

Pretty much the defination of light, fluffy romance comedy. Its the type of story that you'd pick up because u need a break from the atmosphere of dark, heavy and complex stories (the kind where there's gore and characters planning on how to kill each other perfectly).

Its good but not great, the romance is definitely there but the development is slow. The series spends alot more time on Slice of life segments then really having any actual plot which is perfectly fine but don't expect any real goals.

The series itself has funny characters and interactions, and definitely leans more towards a light slice of life comedy then anything dramatic. The author does try to develop side characters, with alot of chapters focused around them. If you're after any focused plot or goals you won't find it... more>> here it's just a romcom with a relate-able and somewhat overly conscious MC lead who falls in love with a priestess.

The relationship is pretty clearly mutual but since the story's told from the male lead's POV one side of the relationship is shown much more intensely. <<less
