Princess had taken a liking to my husband, but he politely declined her, citing that he already had a family.

The next day, Princess threw my severed head at his feet.

“Now, you no longer have a family.”

Not a single tear fell from my husband’s eyes as he cradled my head and boarded Princess’s carriage.

Princess didn’t know that what she had seized was the most terrifying master of forbidden arts in all of Central Plains.

A pretty simple and quick read with a concept that easily could've turned horror or psychological thriller but remained light-hearted instead. Since this is a story that doesn't seem to take itself too seriously (Princess never even gets a name, the writing is very glib), I've also rated it pretty leniently. However, even for this type of short story, the ending glosses over a number of things more than I would've liked. The story concept is promising enough that I almost wish the author would consider coming back and writing... more>> a more serious full-fledged version <<less

Yun Niang (FL) was unalived and became a ghost... bc the Princess wanted to marry her husband, Song Xu (ML). Turned out ML knew sorcery and avenged her by taking the body of Princess for FL's soul.

Idk but the revenge on the Princess was satisfying for me and straightforward. Especially how she unalived many innocent commoners.

The con for me was ML still hid his identity to FL, in synopsis it said "he's master of Forbidden Art"... while in novel, he only learned from some sorcery during war.

For someone who was mu*dered unjustly, MC was a bit too calm when facing her mu*derer and her husband (ML) who "betrayed" her. Her mentality was like "Oh, I'm dead. Let's go reincarnate." She even still had a leisure to admire ML's handsome face all the time. There was no excessive anger and MC accepted her death quite easily until it felt unrealistic.
