Relying on my outstanding looks and celebrated family’s social standing, I engage in intriguing battles in the financial markets. Carefree and mischievously, stirred up some trouble.

Rong family’s guileless and sincere eldest son, Rong YuJiang ignited in me noble aspirations like never before.

I do all I can, using all my wiles, throwing myself behind him in the Rong family struggle for inheritance. Was it my compassion for the weak? Was it my delight in an amusing situation?

Or was it due to another reason for which I am unwilling to admit, that I have already fallen in love with him…

my opinion, I like the plot and the author did well in writing the story but... it was a real struggle in finishing this novel. deception is in every corner. portrays selfish love. it was a painful and emotionally confusing ride but rectified with a happy ending.

This is one of the stories that made me me want to stop but then there was a nagging in my head saying that I need to finish it because it will be worth it and yah it was really worth it. I love the message of the story, how they express their love. It is full of manipulation but it is on a unique way. Like I love the way they struggle for the one they love. I really love this story. Worth reading. Just simply wonderful.

Beware of major character change and rape. (When I say major, I mean MAJOR)

Decent storyline, just not my cup of tea.

The plot twists in this novel were dazzling, and as someone that absolutely adores the dynamics of obsession, it was just a thrilling read. The push and pull, loves-me-loves-me-not; it was disturbingly romantic in a twisted way. It's a fantasy, a bodice-ripper if you will. One would have to be extremely naive or entirely unfamiliar with the romance genre to low-rate a story that follows the classic 'damsel in distress meets overbearing romantic barbarian' stereotype. Especially when it's done so tastefully and with such a masterful level of cunning. I... more>> hope Feng Nong dazzles us with more scintillating yaoi in days to come. Also, I'd really like to thank the translator for their efforts, this story has so many characters, I remember looking at the raw and despairing that anyone would ever even bother. Have three deep bows from me, you have earned them. <<less

This is another masterpiece from Feng Nong. Obsessive Lover is definitely my cup of tea. This story stress another view on love just how love has multiple shape. The translator have done a good job completing this Bittersweet love story.

This story was a little dissapointing as how could he stay with a person like that people truly are strange. To many complaints

I thought he shouldn't have stayed in an abusive relation

This is not a story for those looking for something sweet and nice. The couple here is a match made in hell haha. But the progression of the story was very good and the as well as the translation quality.

There are warning bells very early on... it just gets worse. Actually, nothing gets better. No redemption, only resignation haha.

I love these kinds of story so I'm giving it a 5 star rating.

The ML is crazy, in a vety seriously fucked up way. The MC has a strong personality and not... more>> a push over which is a plus. But in the end, the ML is just too strong. <<less

At first I like the story; it was cute and all. There nothing boring about it. The lover is psycho, keeping his lover but no he was not abusive. Hes a liar and spying on his lover and ppl. The story line most part talk about busniess.... I keep reading hoping there be love scene or anything... but nothing... this novel is not yaoi.

Kudos to the translator for finishing this short novel.

-------

Wow this was another bad read. I'm rating this 1.5 stars. I love possessive, obsessive, and yandere characters but this novel disappointed me. Some reviews are saying that the ML is crazy etc but we don't really get a feel of his character. Most of ML's plans/thoughts/feelings were conveyed by his minions, and even his enemy. I didn't see him express his "great" desire for the MC; throughout the novel I think he only said I love you twice? And most of... more>> it was flashback from the MC. ML barely talked in the whole novel and that's pretty sad consideringg he's supposed to be the ML 🙄

Nonetheless, if you want a quick read about some problematic couple the go ahead. <<less

Like other reviewer said, this couple is a match made in hell

I am actually really glad that they end up together, so they can spare other people from their crazy antics

This novel describes about an ugly side of love

Beware that the male lead is not as pure as what we expect him to be, and our MC is not as fragile as we expect him to be

I almost wrote this off as your typical 'Stockholm Syndrome'... in the end, I'm impressed.

Most relationships in fiction are pretty romanticized. There are hardly any arguments (and if they are, they tend to be misunderstandings) and hardly any things that make you think 'this is the straw that breaks the camel's back.' Yet in real life, such things are pretty much impossible. Think about your own family, do you unreservedly love each member of your family because they are perfect? Of course not. Nobody is perfect. We can't choose family.... more>> We get used to their shortcomings, we live with them, endure them, even if we think we can't.

Because each person has their own desires, priorities, and goals in life, there is no such thing as a perfect relationship that will fulfill every single one of your needs. No matter how much you love someone, they will still make mistakes, sometimes horrible, irreversible mistakes. And it's up to you to decide whether it is worth continuing in spite of the flaws.

The desperation/obsession/'love' presented in this story is very similar. The entanglement is deep and as thorough as family. A feeling of being unable to break away, yet unable to forgive and forget. But this story, despite the horrible extremes the characters go through, manages to present the kind of love that is true to life. (It is very f*cked up though.)

Spoiler

This novel also plays around with the idea that if there exists such a person who can give their entire being into loving another person, into orbiting another person, how would such an extreme emotion be balanced? In order to achieve the kind of relationship that novels frequently depict, the kind of love that others romanticize and want for themselves, what kinds of sacrifices are required?

Full of drama, scheming, twisted love.

It is quite heart-rending ride, but I loved it.

It is not everybody cup of tea, but is written quite well.

If you, you liked huo huo you long, sickly tyrannical (it is way more tragedy).

I had read this story long time ago and had a good impression. I didn't like the ML of this story. I think he is too pretentious and has mental issue (with how he treated MC). But I really liked MC and I felt like ML didn't deserve the MC at all.

In the name of love ML and MC hurt many innocent people. Don't know who is more obsessively in love. In the end suddenly MC feelings changed from extreme fright to obsessive love this fact is little hard to digest.

Don't read unless you're okay with obsession and other dark themes. It starts off very light and fluffy. However, there's is a large plot twist that sets the dark tone for the rest of the novel. It doesn't really get better until the end. Only really enjoyed it for the thrill.

Interesting book, very obsessive character, disturb me at part but overall decent. It is better than a three but less than a five. Maybe 3.5 if I could.
