Oh boy. First, I just want to say—if you hate the Lack of Communication/Misunderstanding trope, I recommend avoiding this book since the entire story revolves around it.

I have to admit, the MC's accepting attitude toward sleeping with different people, including someone over 50 years old, was a bit too much for me. This is just my personal opinion, so don't come for me! I was at least hoping he'd be safe and use protection, but no—an old guy came inside him, and the ML smelled it on him. My gosh.... more>> That completely put me off. I don't know about you guys, but when I'm reading a yaoi romance, or just any romance in general. I'd rather the main characters not be overly s*xual with others. If its part of the story then don't make it overly descriptive. Literally no one gives a damn. It just creates a gloomy, unromantic atmosphere that ruins the storyline. And after reading about the ML getting s**ked off by another omega? My interest in this book started to wane. Honestly, I found it ridiculous. I rolled my eyes so many times.

I also hated how they kept dragging out their misunderstandings. Instead of talking things out, they just made everything worse. It's so frustrating—why does every single omegaverse novel have to include this BS trope?

I get that they were afraid to confront their feelings because it might ruin their friendship-based codependency, but let's be real—wasn't it already ruined? They were both just in denial, pretending everything was fine. Meanwhile, the ML had this constant hot-and-cold attitude because he thought the MC was deliberately deceiving him. But when he rummaged through the MC's computer logs, the truth was right there in front of him.

MC was hiding the fact that he's an omega because ML despises omegas and didn't want to destroy their relationship. You'd think that, as an adult with a functioning brain, ML would just confront him and tell him to leave or SOMETHING. But no—he decides to get even and take the opportunity to deceive MC as well. Like... wow. Are we a bunch of teenagers here??? The constant assumptions and jumping to conclusions were exhausting to read.

Sorry for the long rant, but I'm just disappointed. It's a shame because the translation is good, which is the only reason I'm still giving it a decent rating. That's purely out of appreciation for the translator's hard work. But as for the story itself? I'm done. Stopping at chapter 18. I've completely lost interest in both the MC and ML.

However if you dont mind this trope too much I would say it give it a try since there is plenty of smut on it even in early chapters. <<less

This story is actually pretty good, but not for someone with a weak heart. I wish they had never met. This love is just pure pain.
Spoiler

Tae Geon changed Hyeon Woo’s body. While reading, I kept thinking why did you have to do this to Hyeon Woo? He just loved so much. If he hadn’t, he could have had his own family and someone who truly loved him.

I understand what Tae Geon went through as a child, but nobody should be treated like a band-aid. Tae Geon never learned how to love or how to protect someone he loves. That’s not his fault, but that doesn’t mean Hyeon Woo should have to deal with his trauma alone.

[collapse]
I think what makes this story a real tragedy is that they love each other. And what makes it even more heartbreaking is that they hurt the ones they love the most.
