Usually, I just move on even if I dislike something in a novel. But when the villain twins killed Daisy, my favorite character, I couldn’t help but express my dissatisfaction. … And then, I transmigrated.

the story is ridiculous it force the miscommunication and yandere troupes to maximum because there other plot aside from that, the reincarnated into novel part were not even important because there nothing to do with aside from couple character that appear. The Protagonist is Masochist who to wimpy to said anything and barely has any use aside from being kind and tormented target at thia point.

Just read through ch 11 and the misunderstanding is annoying, which is saying something considering I like misunderstandings. She really is f*cking up big time with her words for someone who is considered smart. I mean saying something like ... more>>

He's not my brother or he's not a family to everyone because you want everybody to see him as a stranger so you can marry him is super dumb.

Spoiler

Not only would everyone try to isolate him, but he would also have no form of protection since everybody would think his family hated him, and probably want to get rid of him.

If this novel is 70-80% about this kind of misunderstanding then I'm out.

Props on the translation though... it's really good work. <<less

What can I say?

I kind of loved it. It definitely had its own flows and I wanted to drop it in the beginning. But I held on and it got good. The writing was good. But it felt like the author was stretching the misunderstanding too far sometimes that it felt like a drag sometimes.

Overall a decent read, I would say. But for those seeking a more nuanced and character-driven experience, it might leave them disappointed.

Big thanks to the author-publisher and translator for letting me read this work for free. Although I'm sure they don't actually want that.

Review:

A working adult transmigrated to the book he has read. Became a kid commoner in it and then adopted. Grows up to be 21 years old again, but his way of thinking is reversed back to as a teenager, unlike the initial period of transmigration, which could be said to be more normal/common as a working adult. He forgets that he is someone who transmigrated and... more>> has lived for more than 40 years.

I don't know for sure whether the author deliberately reduced the MC's mental capacity or was just lazy. However, I quite often come across works that are similar to this. I think I've had enough. <<less

The words written below are my thoughts about this novel. New readers should expect lots of telling and not a lot of showing. The author will very rarely show touching scenes or moments of importance. Rather, the author will mostly summarize or write that something happened.

I'm mainly reading this to pass the time I have left on Earth. There are better stories about raising children, but I wanted to see if Novel Updates had any new stories that could be better.

Wait, it's actually pseudo-in*est. There's some step-sibling love here. I'll... more>> stick around and see if it gets better. There's misunderstandings for the sake of drama. I wish this novel was written better, but as a pseudo-in*est drama, it is fine. The story reads slightly worse than Kissxsis. Or maybe my memory is failing me, and Kissxsis is just as dramatic as this story.

The premise is also slightly flawed. Though in*est was uncommon among nobles, in*estuous marriages still happened. I don't see why the main character is so against marrying his non-blood related siblings beyond his own morals.

1 star is bad. 2 is meh. 3 is good. 4 is great. 5 is a masterpiece. <<less

Why Are You Becoming a Villain Again is a serious rollercoaster of a read. Something that it accomplishes extremely well is a constant sense of anticipation as the plot progresses. Definitely an easy story to binge if you are of the more impatient variety (aka me). Our MC is so far very wholesome and a little dense which would be limiting, but the multiple character perspective is done very well, and seeing the other characters thoughts and motivations may either excite or revolt you. 5/5 would recommend but prepare for... more>> a nail bitter! <<less

First thing first The translation are great.

Storywise ite gonna be a rant

at first it was pretty fun seeing the relationship between the twins and MC but only when in its in playful stage, the best chapter are where they havent gone to the academy, but continuing to read just became a bit annoying and painful

... more>> Sure the twins are not without faults but I think they are the best part of this novel, they just didnt know how to express their feeling because of the trauma

But the MC is the worst part of the story, his personality at first was really good but later on become really toxic, being passive aggressive with the twins and try being hurtful cause he know where to hit them hard, which is weird cause he supposed to be a reincarnator whom should be much more mature <<less

Not enough happens to warrant a story. His allegedly genius sisters act in s*upid ways to get back at their brother who is equally dense. If plot occurred around this it would be one thing but the last few chapters has just been a circle of the brother ignoring his sisters and his sisters acting like psychos.

If you’re into frustration this is for you. I just wish for the rest of us something actually happened besides teen angst.

it’s an academy setting at least let SOMETHING happen.

Firstly, a bit more about the story, as the description left much to be desired:

Our protagonist (Cayden) is adopted into the family of the 2 twins to help them cope with the recent loss of their parents. Cayden succeeds in helping them and takes on the role of a doting older brother. However, the twins have fallen deeply in love with him and can't cope with the fact that one day he will leave them to get married.

The story is about the twins using underhanded methods to keep Cayden from... more>> leaving them, but having their actions backfire on them. And I can tell you, it escalates a lot. It's quite an emotional rollercoaster, especially as Cayden (understandably) misunderstands their true intentions.

In the beginning, I really struggled to sympathize with the twins after all the actions they've taken. There was even a time when I hoped Cayden would just cut them off. But since the story would likely end up with Cayden forgiving them (one way or another), I couldn't really get into the story. However, I soon grew to love it. I really like how Cayden's struggle btw. His love for his siblings and the grief they cause him is handled. I can say the same about how the twins deal with their obsessive feelings and being "sibling-zoned". But for me, the story really shines in these emotional rollercoasters. You can really feel what the characters are going through.

I know a lot of people dislike stories where misunderstandings are a big part of the story as they're usually not well done (e.g. They could easily be resolved by a short conversation). Fortunately, that's not the case here. As @Vidolin has said, they're more of a by-product.
Spoiler

Btw., a lot of the misunderstandings are resolved quite quickly. And later on, they're completely cleared up.

[collapse]

Now to the main cast:

Cayden: A great protagonist. He's not a beta, but a man who knows his boundaries and acts when they're breached. He also has that "older brother" characteristic. He knows how to push other people forward and how to lead his siblings. Some people have voiced their concern about how the story will resolve the misunderstandings btw. The siblings after all the twins did to Cayden. But I can tell you, it's well done (and Cayden certainly doesn't get trampled over and forgive them just like that).

The twins: They're a great depiction of Yanderes where their obsessive love doesn't just come out of nowhere. And they haven't lost their sanity or rationality. They're selfish, but not to the point of completely disregarding Cayden's feelings. And they know what they're doing is wrong. Their relationship with their brother also provides some heartwarming moments.

There are 2 other heroines in this story: Daisy (his favorite character from the novel) and Judy (the cover girl). I really like Cayden's relationship with Judy, and Daisy seems to have a direct, steadfast, and confident personality with a high EQ, which I also find very pleasing.

I wouldn't recommend reading this novel if you
Spoiler
  • abhor actual Yandere heroines who use cunning strategies to monopolize their love interest (including intimidating other women behind his back or manipulating situations in their favor, even if it means he'll suffer from them a bit)
  • dislike harems
  • absolutely can't condone women kissing a sleeping man without his knowledge

FRUSTRATION

That's the only feeling I got from reading this. The premises of the story is great. The plot is solid and the storytelling is easy to understand.

The foundation of this novel is LOVE and MISUNDERSTANDING. The characters love each other's yet because of circumstances one can't be honest with their feeling and one misunderstood the other intentions.

... more>> One thing that made me can't stop reading no matter how frustrated I am is, I understand how each characters felt.

It's hard to be honest with our love because of fear of rejection. It hurts when the people closest to us didn't acknowledge us. Love can make us happy and positive but also can make us sad and negative.

I want to give 5 star, but the execution of the harem route is not satisfying. Not that I hate harem. It just that when you want to put harem and drama together you have to execute it perfectly.

Nonetheless it's a good story. I recommend you to read it yourself. <<less

Before you read this novel, know that this is, the grandmother who adopts the MC because the people in their family have difficulty showing or expressing their love. The grandmother wanted to show her love but was unable to seem cold. So when you have two girls who are similar, they come off as mean and insensitive to the MC. They are Yandere who love the MC however they feel like it's more of a dog and owner.

I wanted to point that out first. Because the characters have difficulty communicating.... more>> The girls feel they deserve all the MC's attention but they do and say things that strain their relationship. So when you read it just know this is a story about girls who are in love with the MC but don't want to share him with anyone else. So the girl's love for the MC turns them into villainesses which is the only thing the MC wanted to avoid <<less

I like the characters and can even understand their yandere behaviors that shoot themselves in the foot, at least as of chapter 67, but I have a really difficult time understanding why everyone and their mom is set on the relationship between the twins and their adopted brother to be considered an unforgivable taboo.

The setting is vaguely based on a European medieval one and there was way more actual in*est instead of just inseki like this is. Like, it makes sense to oppose an official relationship, I just cannot wrap... more>> my head around everyone being like this is the worst thing ever.

I'm also way too impatient to have a confession scene.

I can't tell how it's going to end and I even clicked on spoilers people posted in reviews. If I knew it had a happy ending for everyone, I'd binge the rest immediately, but it keeps getting more and more drawn out without a hint of progress between either twin and the MC, so I'm probably going to put off reading the rest for a while.

The yandere twins being so willing to hurt their brother in order to try to keep people away from him is quite absurd in the long run. Like, in the moment, I can totally understand reacting and acting on those impulses, but as soon as they have any time to think about what they've done, I don't know how they aren't bending over backwards to undo some of that damage, even if it's only reversing how their brother is seen by other people and not fixing it up with him.

The story does have a polygamy tag, but there's not even a hint of that being an option as of 67 chapters in. <<less

The early parts of this novel do put some people off, but I do think that people also need to understand that annoying characters are genuine and contribute to a good story. In this case, I definitely believe that they do. The story develops and things do get resolved. Character interactions in this story are also well-written.

Maybe you don't think it's great? That's fine, but it definitely does not deserve to be put in the same category as other high 3 star novels on this site.

Female leads do s*upid things and MC suffers for it.

Plot: MC isekai as an adopted brother to the twin villainesses sisters and changes them for the better. Once school starts, did the sister turn back to to villainess' ways?

The sisters do s*upid things to monopolize the MC, but the sisters never explain their actions so MC thinks they hate him.

A fun read as the twin sisters are messing up their relationship with MC without knowing. Of course, this drama could to resolved with just communication, so minus a star... more>> rating. It's still a fun read as you anticipate how this all turns out as they are also cool side heroines for MC. <<less

10/10 villainess novel. I really love the misunderstandings and you can really feel the emotions behind the characters, makes my heart hurt each chp I read.

Do not read if you hate misunderstandings that go on for ages, cause this novels entire premise is based on misunderstandings of the MC not knowing that his sisters are yanderes who want to keep him only for themselves. The story is well written though and so are the characters. It doesn't get boring to and the pacing is very good imo (besides the first... more>> 3 chps of childhood which is normal to rush to the main story of them as young adults). One of the best villainess novels ive ever read. <<less
