Big thanks to the author-publisher and translator for letting me read this work for free. Although I'm sure they don't actually want that.

Review:
A working adult transmigrated to the book he has read. Became a kid commoner in it and then adopted. Grows up to be 21 years old again, but his way of thinking is reversed back to as a teenager, unlike the initial period of transmigration, which could be said to be more normal/common as a working adult. He forgets that he is someone who transmigrated and has lived for more than 40 years.

I don't know for sure whether the author deliberately reduced the MC's mental capacity or was just lazy. However, I quite often come across works that are similar to this. I think I've had enough.

one word summary: miscommunication.

MC overhears hurtful remarks from his adopted 'sister' aimed at him, but never asks what she means or for a deeper explanation. That's the plot. All of it. If it happened once or twice then maybe ok, but it happened at least 3-4 time in 11 chapters and is the main driving point of the plot.

Incredibly annoying trope, and while the writing style is good and there is some attempt to make it look sensible, it's just too frustrating to read.

So of you like "waah waah they... more>> must hate me!!" when the other person does everything in their power to be misunderstood and never explains anything, then this story is great for you. If not, maybe skip this one.

This is an interesting one. Some might be frustrated by the misunderstanding aspect of the story, but I don't think it is that relevant actually. What drives the main conflict isn't the miscommunication between the characters, that is more of a byproduct.

The main point for me is that the sisters are still the villains. They are selfish and feel possessive of the MC, taking action so that he will stay with them, without even considering how much trauma they are putting him through in the process.

The twist is that the... more>> twins have genuine feelings towards the MC. They aren't just evil thanks to their isolation growing up, like in the previous timeline. Instead they are evil thanks to their infatuation with the MC, and the toxic ways they act on those feelings.

This creates an interesting setting, where the heroines inadvertently end up as antagonists, mostly because of their crush on the protagonist.

My one concern with this novel so far is that I'm not sure yet how charitable the author expects the readers to be towards the sisters. Honestly, as they are right now, they don't deserve to get an happy ending with the MC (and I feel like it would be waaay more interesting for the story if they never did). If all it takes for them to reconcile is an --Sorry that we made your life hell and caused you immense pain, it was all because we are actually in love with you *uwu*-- I'll be very disappointed.

If they do end up together (they probably will), I hope it only happens after a lot of growth and atonement from the two sisters. <<less

its 2.5/5 for me, honestly this series started up interesting, but you will always feels something aint right with this novel, at first MC doesnt seem like he is a dense type of MC cause he tried to find out the reason of what happen and when you thought MC aint dense, he is in fact dense type of MC (imagine still kissing your sister in cheek and hugging them on daily basis or whenever something goes wrong as in fighting, WHEN HE IS 20 YEARS OLD AND HAVE PAST... more>> MEMORIES SO HE LIVED MORE THAN 40 YEARS ???), author trying really hard to make sure that MC aint dense which make it really hard to read sometimes.
The character on this novel is so half assed, what worse than bad is half assed its can be good yet its only half, this pissed me the most.
MC would live for himself instead of other, refuse to cut off the cancer
Asena would prioritize love than power, afraid to lose the power
Kirsey, idk she got no brain (ironically best written character on the series cause she got no brain, f*cking hate this b*tch)
MC part is hurtful to read since its seem decent at first and yet it just keep going and he keep refusing to cut off the cancer (massive f*cking pushover), they are family, they are my sister, they aint evil, they changed, they... shut the f*ck up and cut them off already it been keep going forever why he doesnt want to cut her off

The sister (Asena) is smart (IQ :20) you get it, MC is portrayed at kindest human being and everybody love him (in fact I like this MC as well) and he would never start any random conflict but yes as you can expect from the so called smart (iq:20) sister, she got a grand plan (iq:20) to make sure she (iq:20) marry his brother (not blood related) by saying she going to f*cking kicked him off out of her family in 2 years time without explaining everything to MC and misunderstanding start, yes the classic misunderstanding and it keep going forever despite being smart (iq:20), how about you told him you loved him which is easy, simple, and actually able to affirm does he actually think the same as you/willing to marry you, probably wont actually give a f*ck what MC want anyway cause that is how she is

I won't delve too much into the analysis, other than to say, yes, the plot is driven by misunderstandings, and the sisters are a yandere and a menhera who foment those misunderstanding due to their excessive possessiveness over the main character. But man, does it turn into an emotional rollercoaster. I hate to say don't judge the novel too early, but by the time it got into the 60s/70s I was hooked. Just a warning though, this is a full on harem novel. Another warning, the sisters get emotionally demolished... more>> - we are talking suicidal / brain trauma.

The MC gets unnecessarily criticized here - he is nowhere near as bad as so many tropey, dense, introverted Japanese web novel MCs are. I could literally recite dozens of web novels on this site with sh!ttier MCs that are not called to task nearly as much. While not the sharpest tool in the shed, he is a decent guy trying to do the right thing. <<less

What this novel showcases (and I know, this is just fiction) is the importance of sincere, honest and open communication. The whole plot wouldn't have had to have happened, if the main characters just had a long, honest talk about their feelings and didn't work only based on assumptions.

Moreover, I admit with other, even negative reviews - the developments and misunderstandings that keep piling up are indeed annoying.

However this novel has something about it, that forces me to keep reeding. Maybe it's the process of how the female lead are... more>> becoming yanderes, or how the MC grows balls while at the same time remaining human and showing his weaknesses. Whatever it is, it works and is pretty fun.

Regarding a different reviewers who hope the twins suffer as the MC did: I think this happens. Pure emotional torment for them. So no easy forgiveness. No "Tehee oops. I'm sorry. Forgive pliiz" <<less

Nothing but one series of misunderstandings after another. A real train wreck.

The main character is a coward who would rather sink deeper into his own fears than make an effort to find out what is really going on. Lacking even the slightest bit of faith in what he's done in the past and in the relationships he's built up, he only ever chooses to run away.

It's a fantastic story so far and I think the translator has done a fantastic job as well. At first glance it seems like a simple fluff story but it comes with teeth. You can see the thought processes make sense of each character. I find myself craving for more at the end of each chapter. I have to agree that a lot of haters just hate the characters which fine don't read then but it has no bearing on the rating of the story as a whole.

The beginning was all fluff and nice shit.

But holy sh*t did it go off the rocker once they entered the academy, I can't even express how disappointed I am in all the characters and their lack of communication.

The misunderstandings could be avoided, definitely a dynamic change but it'd still be better then what we have currently.

Just why in the f*cking hell does Brother still show affection to them even though he knows that they were the ones to f*ck him over. AUTHOR really just goes "Ah but I still love them too much I'll always support them. F*ck THAT. Brother is literally giving them a free pass when they are destroying his life just because they're jealous. He really has to f*cking reign them in more and be f*cking direct with them Jesus f*cking Christ.

I did like his little motivational speech and goal setting in C17 but at this point I don't have as much faith in this understanding being resolved sooner then later.

I am fairly certain that to become a vassal, you need to be a leader of a noble family. Our MC is going to become a commoner after graduation. It also means that he would betray his OG employer. Thinking that someone would trust a traitorous commoner to mediate between two ducal families is beyond me.

Judy is sus. She is big tittied classmate of our MC and the only classmate he interacts with. She is one of the best in class in academics and has perfect appearance yet apparently she has no friends other than MC. Make that make sense.

Sisters are... ok. They are spoiled little sisters who were poorly socialized and want to monopolize MC at all costs. They make some sense. All the worse watching them being purposefully hurt by our MC for no reason. <<less

TL;DR - Story has a lack of plot, MC debatably justified until approximately ~c30 (been around a month or so since I read those chapters), after which he just becomes rude and toxic, with the exception of his harem. Sister 1 (Duchess) is irredeemably s*upid with her actions, whilst Sister 2 is just a dumb girl in love. Don't recommend reading for now, unless we finally get some plot development that isn't just misunderstandings.

I didn't actually mind reading the novel initially, it was a classic 'lack of communication' esque plot... more>> where many misunderstandings occur, but after I got to chapter 37, I'm just greeted with a borderline third grader for a MC. Honestly I don't even think having the misunderstandings resolved can make me like this MC again. If you still like the novel after this, I don't think it has much room to get worse personality wise (though I am more than open to get proven wrong).

^ This is also considering the MC is a reincarnator, who should be more than mature enough to be a decent human being, but the plot skips over this because his actions are defending a member of his harem...

The plot is pretty awful in general, but not SO bad to where you instantly click off without thinking, but considering that one of the twins is a literal duchess (of which the plot clearly demonstrates that she has both the training and demeanor to carry herself as one), you'd think that she would have a single idea of what her actions are doing. (Love makes you blind? If I love someone I still breathe, I look both ways before I cross the road, whilst this duchess just willingly gets hit by a truck)

The other character is just s*upid, but you can argue she gets a pass on some counts, as she has lived her entire life as a dependant on her brother. She hasn't had to deal with the burdens of high aristocracy- which this family outlines as a key point- the Pryster family is a respected and feared family, yet both the old head (the grandma character?) and the current head (Asena) seem to lack any tact of a noble.

If you made it this far, thanks for listening to my rant, I don't often do this, I just felt like it because my patience toward the misunderstanding trope finally boiled over after many years after reading this. <<less

A decent heavily character driven story. The setting is barebones; it is a medieval-like non fantasy (even though monsters are briefly alluded to) and the worldbuilding is nearly nonexistent (I don't think they even named the country). Side characters tend to disappear. Transmigration device was never relevant or explained. Gaiden chapters are R19.

Story had potential in the first few chapters which was quickly extinguished by the start of academy arc.

All novels use misinderstandings but they have to be enjoyable to some extent, this novel doesnt have those. At first I discounted the harem tag because most people are going to be against him but he has the same clueless MC halo near him.

Even the original MC of the game seems more smarter than our protag, which I am surprised that the author would go this way.

The interactions between a 30 year old... more>> man and the 8 year old girls is literally sickening once you realise that he doesnt know any sense of boundaries and ingrains the habit to rely upon him since their childhood.

In his defense though, he didnt know how to raise a child, so the raised child fell in love with him. <<less

Starts out fun, but after a while de-escalates into a drama. It's fun in the beginning with the misunderstanding, but it becomes boring when they keep on making it bigger/ not resolving it. 1 good talk is all it needs. Communication guys, very important.

I was a bit hesitant to start reading this after seeing all the negative reviews, but it's actually quite good. There is a lot of drama due to miscommunications and such, but all the characters had well-developed characterizations and their actions were reasonable in context, aside from the two sisters, but this is reasonable too since they are clearly not meant to be psychologically healthy since they're yanderes. As a result, the drama, while still occasionally frustrating to read at times, felt basically like a trainwreck that I couldn't look... more>> away from, in a good way, and I ended up binge-reading the whole thing in one go.

If you've read this author's other stories, you basically know what to expect - love interests who are madly in love yet have difficulty being honest and shoot themselves in the foot practically constantly. Of this author's stories, Interspecies Wives is the best, but this is quite enjoyable too in its own right, though it's definitely on the angstier side without the moments of fluff that break up the tension in Interspecies Wives. <<less

Sisters are incredibly toxic and annoying to the reader as they try to sabotage the MC (out of love?). Completely unredeemable degenerates. Dropped as I couldn't stand them any longer and the MC tolerated them for too long and should've just left school or something.

the story is ridiculous it force the miscommunication and yandere troupes to maximum because there other plot aside from that, the reincarnated into novel part were not even important because there nothing to do with aside from couple character that appear. The Protagonist is Masochist who to wimpy to said anything and barely has any use aside from being kind and tormented target at thia point.
