Very thought provoking story and a very good translation.

There's a few important themes

First up there's the problem of parenting. For a parent it's a very hard balance between pushing your children in a way that's good for them and letting them find their own way in life. Just where is that line? From the synopsis you can guess how well the parents in the story did.

The other big theme is just what does it take to drive someone to su*cide? I think this does well with how far it goes... more>> on the theme. The problem is this story doesn't go very far on the topic. There just isn't enough of the story to fully develop the pain of the MC.

The only real problem with the story is that it takes on gigantic topics and isn't nearly long enough to explore them. If it were longer, it would easily be 5 stars. <<less

As someone suffering from depression and anxiety, I have to say, this book kind of hit the spot. I was upset, at how all the people surrounding her act like that. It was, to be frank, disturbing.

Depression is common. But it varies differently from person to person and it is difficult to deal with. I think, that depression is difficult to be understood by someone who has never been depressed before. It isn't simply of a matter of... su*cide...

su*cide can be both simple and extremely complex. It can be seen... more>> by someone as a means to 'end' everything they have been going through. Or, it can be like when someone is just exhausted and tired, and they don't have the energy to just push through. Regardless, there are still many more besides this.

Wanting to die, thinking it's better to die, is a pathway is life which they want to stray off from. They don't want to stay on that pathway anymore because, it's difficult to think, that everything will be better in the future. Because your mind can be plauged with many negative thoughts and it gets hard to defeat them. It isn't the act of simply ignoring all those thoughts and be like happy.

It's like telling someone to ignore their bullies who keep hurting them regardless. I think more people should realise, ignoring isn't so easy. It's difficult. You can't just ignore your problems, your pain and they just simply go away.

I think you need to accept them and gradually learn to handle them. And learn how to manage them.

I simply hope, that. Maybe somewhere in the future of the novel we can't see, that this MC will be free. <<less

Like how some parent disregards their child's feelings or invalidate someone's opinion. How unbelievable it was to slap your child and not side with her when she was bullied. And how easy for them to give her things to others like erasing her existence. I know that it is normal to pass things of the deceased but it was hard for me since those things were sentimental especially journals.

I hope to those people who resort to su*cide will find their peace. To those who have thought that it was better to "die". You should think that there will be someone who's gonna feel that it was their fault and will feel guilty. And maybe someday they will end up like you and we don't want that.

You should heal at your own pace, and do your stuff. Do things you like without stepping/hurting others. Don't mind the hurtful words that people will tell you. It will only benefit others, not you. If you think, you are selfish. Be selfish then, to mind your happiness before others. After all, it was ourselves gonna help us. Just be kind but not so kind to let others step you. Be a giver but also not empty because you give others so much. <<less
