Hello everyone, this is the translator to shed some light on this unique novel.

I read as I translate so I'm afraid I'm not able to give spoilers yet at this time of writing (though, I will frequently update this) BUT I can make some points on why I picked this novel (basing on reviews on the original site and reading the first few chapters) and why you should read it:

    1. PLOT: Although it is tagged as SMUT, there were no 19 rated scenes right of the bat--this novel is more story-driven where the author focuses on building romance between the characters as they progress on their journey of revenge.
    1. CHARACTERS: Charlotte, our female protagonist, is girl crush material, powerful, vindictive, but vulnerable. As to how revenge... more>> stories go, she started off naive and ignorant to the world, especially since
      Spoiler

she was a scorned illegitimate daughter basically treated like air. And one day, she was shown an act of kindness from one person (yeah, you're guessing it right) that stirred her heart.

      [collapse]
She ended up doing everything for Albert and friends, and lo and behold was only betrayed in the end and labeled as the villainess of the story. The reason? They see strong women like her as a threat.

Ruslan, Charlotte's contractual partner, and our male lead. He is also driven by motives of his own... not the typical overbearing, cold or even the flirty type of male leads we've read, rather, he is calculating and devious. That's all I can say for now.
        1. WORLD: It's the typical western setting with the europian ambiance and the addition of magic called Aura. The author is detailed with world-building and on explaining how magic works. It's also the first time I have read this particular twist on soul transmigration:
          Spoiler

By the magic of immortality, Charlotte's soul transfers to a dead body as her new vessel.

          [collapse]
        1. WRITING: The author writes with clarity and depth and does not rushes the pacing. I particularly love how the characters are written, especially Charlotte's background. The tone is serious and melancholic. I am really excited about how the writing will progress in future chapters.
That's all I can say for now. I do hope potential readers have found this review helpful, even a little bit. <<less

TLDR So far, it's a really good betrayal/revenge novel but I wouldn't pick it up unless translation starts again, currently it looks like it was dropped hard

Setup: Charlotte was an illegitimate noble woman with a talent for magic. She is seduced/recruited by one of the princes of the empire to put him on the the throne with the promise she will be the empress. When it comes time to fulfill the promise she is crippled and imprisoned in a frozen waste area.

Why it's a good read: The characters are well... more>> written and believable, while the plot is cliche, it's a well done cliche and moves along nicely.

Down sides: The world building is a little muddled and it looks like there might be whitewashing <<less
