The novel is so heartwarming and sweet!!!

First of all, I don't really read novels so without NSFW part or smut. But this one is pretty comedic, fun to read, and actually enjoyable. This is probably my first pure shounen-ai novel and I really enjoyed reading it. It is pretty funny and the fans are crazy. There are misunderstand and I really like how MC, ML and Tingting (First fan of MC) interacts and talk with each other.I was kinda disappointed on how MC... more>> and ML didn't actually meet TingTing. TingTing is like a supporting role and she is very funny, I don't think this novel would be enjoyable without TingTing sigh I wish she appeared and became friends with ML and MC in real life not just in online. Anyways the story is great! The story isn't fast nor slow. Please try and read it.

Sigh.... The only part I didn't like is how The ML lied at MC that he is straight... it just ruined the mood then later on MC confesses and ML also confessed.... Err I'm unsatisfied with this scene because I don't like people who hides their sexuality and later on tell they are lying... It showed how ML is pretty unreasonable and like.... why lie if you like him also and like.... the MC be like "whatever (not literally) "I mean like please don't spoil your boyfriend.

There are 28 chapters and the rest of 8 chapters are paid. If you can't afford, go to listnovel to read the rest of the 8 chapters. It's already completed.

To sum it up, this novel is like a vents by Abusive Love Story writer, their complaint, and later also their own consolation.

Xu Chi was set to be a handsome, popular, and also smart guy but one who is is an introverted type. He is a writer of Dog-Blood Drama stories or that Abusive Love stories, that kind of stories where angst is all over the place. Something like your lover suddenly become amnesia and then get to be so cold towards you and then break up with you because... more>> he couldn't recognize you, and then you are so hurt and leave, only for your lover somehow felt regret later and then chase you back, etc etc. Or the plot about substitute lover, etc etc. Besides, his writing is not that good to cover the cliche and hateful genre.

At fist I thought the Shou (Xu Chi) is the kind of cool and carefree person, the type of person who wrote stories they wanted to write, and couldn't care less about the responds. After all, the type of stories he wrote is indeed something that most readers nowadays condemned severely for the lack of IQ the protagonist has.

Yet surprisingly Xu Chi is actually a sensitive person. He actually very concerned over his lack of fans and popularity. He also actually thought so much about the commenters who criticized his story.

Because of it, this story somehow fell to the same category for the reason why readers didn't like them.

After all, if this novel actually make Xu Chi's personality as a savage, and carefree one, who trolled the readers who got annoyed by his story, or make Xu Chi as someone who actually couldn't care less about the respond of his story since he only wrote angsty story to vent his frustration in his RL---If it were so, I think this novel will be more colorful and nice to read.

Because IMO, when the author make Xu Chi's character as a sensitive person who got affected by comments, who wanted to be popular, then give many lengthy scenes and words to describe and narrate how sad and how hurt Xu Chi is after getting a feedback who criticized his work, it turned out to be boring.

The author reasoned this out with : It's human nature to actually feel sad by critics and subconsciously always wanted praises.

However, this logic is kind of funny. I realize when I was still a brat or teenager this kind of feelings wanting to hear praises all along is really strong, and I justified myself that it's normal. However, after you grow up and enter the society, this kind of mindset will automatically resetted, as you will actually pursuing for critics instead so that you can improve rather than the empty flattery.

Besides, the novel itself didn't say that Xu Chi wanted or strived to be a writer officially. So, his breakdown over critics make me confused, like, did you write this for your livelihood, or did you write this genuinely for fun and your own satisfaction? Or what purpose actually did you write such Unpopular Abusive Love Story??? The reason why Xu Chi started writing has never been explained, that's why it makes this novel's purpose instead of delivering a well rounded interesting plot, it turned out to be like a venting for those Abusive Love writers... <<less

This story is far from realistic, but considering how short it is, I found it easy to assume "things just happened like that" and move on.

Ok so I don't know if this novel is really completely translated as the Status in Coo says it has 28 chapter, I ony read up to chap 20.

I read this because I want fluff, and while there is indeed fluff, I feel that something is lacking. Some parts were also boring for me. But I willed myself to read it anyway. What ML said about writing ks also very reasonable so while I was bored, I find it enlightening as I write for fun too.

Sweet but boring: 3.4

This is very cute and fluffy! It somehow reminds me of both "Love You 59 Seconds" and "Guide on How to Fail at Online Dating", but this one is a lot shorter and the structure is not as good as the other two. Nevertheless, the fluff was enjoyable.

I just found some parts to be a little illogical, which might have improved with the addition of a few more chapters.

The translation quality could have been better if there was a decent editor, but I'm still very grateful for the translated chapters.... more>> Tl;Dr: Recommended for it's short length and fluff. <<less
