Within the industry, everyone knew Team DG’s captain Lu Zhe and Team BLX’s top laner Shen Qiao didn’t get along. They said it was due to hormones. They said it was a basic AA incompatibility.

Lu Zhe once said of Shen Qiao: “Obsessed with kills. Lone wolf.”

With a cold smile, Shen Qiao said of Lu Zhe: “Command’s mediocre. Shitty jungler.”

But then…

When Team DG, champions of the last tournament season, stumbled during the Spring Tournament and fell during the semifinals, someone cut through the furious cursing and swearing that had consumed the internet and leaked the news—

Shen Qiao was going to be traded. He was joining Team DG.

When that news came out, the internet roared.

Did Shen Qiao and Lu Zhe fight today?

On esports forums, trolls and haters placed their bets. It was endless, until Team DG won its second world championship crown.

Half a month after the tournament.

The players of Team DG hosted a livestream: “The lodgings were awful. Captain and Qiaoqiao had to share a room. Aren’t we pitiful?”

Shen Qiao, sitting next to the monitor, glanced over through hooded eyes. He caught a glimpse of a bullet comment and echoed it out loud: “Did we fight?”

He lifted a hand to his neck. “We fought.”

Lu Zhe approached with a cup of black tea. Just in time to see Shen Qiao touch the bite mark on his throat. He added:

“We even broke the bed.”

It’s sweet, wholesome and fluffy but there’s not much hot moments or smut. Most of the novel they’re all talk but no action. There is also no dubcon at all, each time MC gave his consent, other times ML teased him but in the end MC always wanted it. I was a bit annoyed about how even when MC wanted ML to mark him he wouldn’t do it, because he did not want to hurt him. Overall I just wish there was some spice.

ah man this whole JJ situation stopped me while I was at the brink

But that's alright- 94 chapters is enough to get my thoughts rolling & luckily I've already read the saucy parts.

I have to confess that compared to AO, OB, OO relationships, AA is the one that has the most s*xual tension. By AA I mean Alpha-Alpha, not Alcoholics Anonymous, PLS don't misread. There's just so much testosterone, clashes of dominance, & aggression that make me go ahh yeah that's hot.

This one took me by surprise. Not only... more>> did it star LoL, but there was even some angst between the main CP. You have an AA dynamic plus they were a former couple?? SHEESH talk about drama, I am in! The gaming scripts are pretty standard- not too overly complex & easy to follow along. The romance was pretty fun, especially when ML throws s*xual innuendos at every given moment. He's a hoot. It's not the best, but it's a really fun read to tackle! <<less

Not sure why the rating is so low when there aren't any proper reviews so bumping this up for now. Read the 2 chapters available so far and feel this will become a gem.

It's got that Strong X Strong vibe I love. Translations are great quality. Looking forward to more chapters! (Thanks translators!)

ML made me choke on air a few times already. His shamelessness really wants to make people kneel and I'm living for it. The AA match up and s*xual tension between the two protags are the cream and cherries on top.

MC is handsome, cute and adorable but not s*upid as observed from many novels. Gosh, I hate it when they're nearly all described as soft and cute to the tips of their fingers and to their toes.

Character build up is interesting and flashbacks don't disrupt the progress of the story... more>> but adds more insights, depth and spice even more. I'm really surprised not many hasn't read and reviewed this yet.

I'm telling you, this is bomb to eSports lovers and to those who get disuaded by the eSports genre, give it a shot and you won't regret it. I for one don't like eSports that much but this one is mwah! <<less

mtl-ed the novel on jjwxc before so I can say that this novel is written well and the story was very interesting! For the translations, the quality is great and made me enjoy the story as I reread~ loved the dynamic between the two characters, since they're both alphas its fun seeing them try to dominate one another XD thank you for picking this up translator!

I'm not sure what translation y'all are reading, but the one by 78zaoTL is nearly unedited MTL. It was a nightmare to slough through, just from the first chapter, every other line was mistranslated or made zero sense.

"The top laner position in the game basically did not fall on the opposing line. Wind, pursuit of extreme output, because his strong play attracted many fans."

Is this even English?

I'm way better off reading the raws myself...

This is a getting back together after breakup and separation plot! I thought I needed to mention this because the summary and reviews don’t mention it.I don’t read such novels but I was pitted since no one mentioned it!So take note of this before starting!

Starting from the plot, Even tho i’m not a fan of ABO, I was really intrigued by this because its AA! Strong x Strong! And i’m always a fan of a confrontational and passionate romance more than fluffy romance! So I read it and then discovered... more>> its getting back together story and I did actually lose my interest... But I did read ahead because ofc you can’t judge anything before even reading halfway and i’m kinda glad I did. My hate towards these stories are because of s*upid reasons of breakup and I too was scoffing at this couple at every chance I got until the author explained all the reasons gradually! And now being civil, I do agree its not one of those s*upid breakups! Everything did have a reason! For people wanting to know,

Spoiler

They broke up right after they got caught by their families and then ML was sent away to a place with no money and internet and MC was subjected to aversion therapy by his foster mom. So even tho break up was hasty. They truly didn’t have any means to get together. MC suffered a damn lot but even after that he wanted to be with the ML and wanted him to come to BLX but ML’s family intervened and put him in DG. So they could only look at each other from far until ML finally took his chances. Well, before knowing the whole story I actually scoffed at ML a lot of time wondering if he was a flowerhead and why he didn’t got to the MC when he was suffering but the reasons do tell me that he couldn’t but tried his best!

[collapse]

There was cute and passionate romance mix but not as much as I expected, a bit of a shame but that one chapter smut was kinda hot (͡° ͜ʖ ͡°).

The gaming part was mediocre and stretched and the author herself admits it. If you have read Glory or ICDI then it will be just okay for you. But REALLY GLAD that the author didn’t write any ‘except china, other Europe or America teams weak and Korea got mediocre but pretentious teams’ like I was so sick of nearly all the authors doing this shit! The author made nearly all her teams strong and respectable!

Not much side character building and team bondings involved. Anyway it was a mix of romance and a lot of gaming part.

It was an average read for me so try it for yourself is all I can say. <<less

I'm not too familiar with omegaverse settings so I feel like I'm missing something, such as the personalities of alphas/omegas/betas. Just felt that the main chars were kinda flat and so edgy most the time. The chapters themselves were a constant tease, it got irritating after awhile, do something or don't, focus on story instead. That is, of course, all my personal opinion. I think certain people will like this more than me. However, if you're someone who cares about a developed relationship, supporting characters and an intriguing setting, you... more>> might feel the same.

The one thing I will give this novel, though, is that the e-sports scenes are really good. I have never played LoL before but I found it really interesting to read about. That raised it to a 3 star rather than a 2 star for me. <<less

s*xual tension is everywhere in this novel and the chemistry between the MC and ML are out out of this world

Plus it's an E-sport novel

All just makes for a good read

... more>> 10/10 would reccomend

Edit: Completed, it was pretty standard and not much of the side characters play an important role

Even the antagonist, MLS father only showed up in a few paragraphs

It's a light read and mainly focuses on the main couples romance but it was cute and as I said the tension between the two of them was out of this world.

Alpha×Alpha is now my favorite trope. <<less

This novel pretty interesting. It's abo setting in e-sport. In short, it's about clearing misunderstanding between MC and ML in the past.. Yep they are in relationship before. And break up. If I remember corectly,

Spoiler

ML chase after MC to the e-sport career after MC break up with him. MC and ML still in love.

[collapse]

mc's mood always gloomy, easily offended, but more reserved. He's the type of keep the problems to himself and lets everyone misunderstand him. When he met ML again, even though he was tense, what he showed was apathy and indifference, even seeming challenging. And our ML is the kind of possessive, like to tease but not that Flamboyan kind. When both of them meet, there Will be a hot vibe and s*xual tension, full of pheromones. Well written.

Some problem happen between MC & team, so the ML's team management grab him into the team. And here the start to cleaning dirt of the past. To each other they push and pull like a kite.

MC have past trauma and depression problem.

*Don't read below, it's the main tragedy.*

Spoiler

it's relate to his and ML's family. MC an orphan, adopted by Beta mother (ex-wife of now ML's jerk father) when she married in bussiness with the jerk. The jerk then leave her and make ML's mother, the mistress, become the main wife. ML's mother always looking for trouble with the mc's mother. So the proud Beta mother become a bit crazy. When she know the relationship between MC &ML, her mind crazier even more and inject an alpha pheromone, thats the ML's pheromone. So it make MC have pheromone Disorder trauma. ML don't know this incident b'cuz he is in foreign. So thats what I remember.

[collapse]

After the misunderstanding clear, MC ML get together again, MC'S trauma get better. The story Lil bit gloomy, but it's pretty hot. <<less

It definitely does not hold up to the premise of an alpha-alpha pairing. At. All. I expected a battle of equals. Instead it feels more like the typical AO dynamic with a super strong domineering alpha LZ and the okay-ish tsundere shy accepts whatever his alpha dishes out, needs someone to save him SQ.

I mean cmon... it's basically one sided chasing/ flirting/ harassment from LZ while SQ 'coldly' accepts it. SQ occasionally makes small 'provocations' that LZ just kind of allows without retaliating. Like seriously every interaction between them, their... more>> dynamic is obviously super uneven with LZ on top every damn time. SQ doesn't even really challenge him and he can't anyway. LZ seems to be better than SQ at everything: Emotionally, physically, mentally and even with their careers.

I've read other ABO novels where the O in the AO pairing is way stronger/ more assertive/ more equal to his A partner than this supposed A-A pairing. Tsk. Because of the sypnosis as well as the reviews, I expected a dynamic like the one in Saye but nope... what I got is this Alpha-alpha that feels like a slightly stronger doormat omega pairing. <<less

Somehow, I remember reading his but I never marked this as completed before? The e-sports scenes are really well written. There are some more dramatic parts, but it’s not unreasonable, at the very least. If you don’t know much about lol, you might have some trouble reading the more heavy scenes, as it’s really detailed without much explanation. The romance is mostly well written and I can say it’s quite good, especially if you consider that this is an ABO. There are some more things it could improve on, especially... more>> since the author was relatively new to writing novels when they wrote this, but i’d say it’s a good read that’s enjoyable. <<less

This is my first time finding AA relationship! 😭❤

Even though the theme is games or esports, the story is very interesting, really. Well, actually this novel is about LoL game, i've played it but don't understand that deep, but if you skip the game part it will be a very hot romantic novel!!

Yes, especially our ML!! He is a le*d beautiful alpha, even though the author writes he is beautiful, but he dominates.

... more>> Our MC is a cute ferocious alpha, he's very shy and a bit tsundere hehe.

In fact, MC's past is sad, so is ML. They are half brothers who are not blood related, MC is an adopted child and ML is an illegitimate child. They fall in love with each other because they realize that their fate is the same.

They want to dominate each other because they are Alpha, it makes me unable to stop smiling. I'm surprised that ML ever marked MC, but MC feels unbearable pain because he's not Omega, alpha's instinct is avoiding other alphas...

All in all, this novel is good. Every chapter makes my lips tired from smiling. ML's le*d temptation is also very hot, haha. <<less

I love it. I highly recommend it. This is one of the first novels wherein the main couples are both Alphas. It was a good read considering it was my first time.

I love that it doesn't have the common trope wherein eventually the main character changes into an omega. Till the end, he stayed as an Alpha. Showing the hardship they both experienced in life and towards their relationship. This novel is more on second chances honestly. The main couples working out their way through their career and love.

It has... more>> family drama between the MC and ML but rest assured it wasn't drawn out and wasn't too rushed as well. Although personally, I wanted the father suffer most but in the end, it is still a bit satisfying.

I also love how the author showcases the love between fellow Alpha. The MC is not soft and meek but just like any Alpha as well. It gave a good combination for both of them. The author did a good job complimenting them as a pair despite being an Alpha.

In the end, it's worth reading so gives it a chance. I won't spoil it so you have to read it and find out why I love it. Although preferences are different, I'm sure at least you won't hate this novel. Unless you are not a fan of ABO. <<less

Stopping at this chapter for now. I liked this really, I like Shen Qiao. But the flirting and shamelessness of Lu Zhe I cannot really stomach. I have been skipping parts and I feel like it’s not worth it anymore. I will just assume that they reached the peak and lived happily ever after.

The game element is good, the relationship also good, the couple's backstory is interesting, AA pairing!

ML shamelessness got me on my nerves, but then it got better once we get to know the MC stance on the relationship: MC also loves ML. It's important for me, as if MC has no feeling to ML, then ML doing harassments. But since MC loves ML, then ML doing tease. But again, teasing is okay, and this story has too much of it to become a bit repetitive.

And there's no closure about their... more>> issues with their dad, which is a bit disappointing <<less

Maybe I'm getting fed up with esports gaming novels at this point. Who knows, but if I'm being honest I think the novel is overrated.

Don't get me wrong, it was pretty interesting with its abo concept and the whole thing with SQ and his allergy, but I think I've become numb to esports gaming novels. I like the ones like You Boys Play Games Well where they're just regular online gamers meeting online. Or the one where the little streaming gamer matched with the ceo of the streaming platform.... more>> It makes it more interesting because they slowly get to know one another and the game play isnt completely competition based where, like every esports novel the end game is them winning the championships.

Initially, the only reason I kept reading was because I found the backstory of the characters very interesting, and then the attack on SQ's life by his adoptive father got me all the more interested in it.

Then that whole thing blew over and we were given filler chapter after filler chapter and I completely got bored. Like, I'm fine with reading game play but when I already can guess the outcome it gets old and with the last 7 game play I pretty much guessed it. Not everyone guessed it? True, that's fair, but even so, I feel like this could have ended at chapter 79/80 and then left the rest as extra because currently I'm beating my head against a wall trying to get through these and praying that the next chapter will finally give me closure to what happened with the father and LZ's mother. And yet.. Here I am, chapter 86 writing this essay trying to decide if I want to waste the two days I spent reading this just to drop it here or if I want to skim through the remaining chapters and call it..

Also, just as a venting thought, I'm actually starting to get rather annoyed with this couple match up. One is tsundere who's too shy and embarrassed to say how he feels outright while constantly trying to make everything a competition and the other is lowkey manipulative and makes everything a game/joke and only backs off once he completely pisses SQ off. I get they're alphas and alphas want to be in control and yada yada, but lord have mercy it is starting to annoy me.

if anyone reads this, take it with a grain of salt, because it could just be me wishing to read something with more plot or at the very least an equal amount of plot to romance. Or maybe my chemicals are f*cked and that's why everything's pissing me off. Who knows. <<less

I personally believe this needs a dubcon tag at the very least.

I felt the story was flat. It had some opportunities in different places when it came to the flashbacks and backstory to be more but we were just given the information and then back to the present and moved on. Definitely a few plot holes as well. There would also be resolutions to serious things without any explanation as to how it came to that resolution. We can guess but it never gets brought up again.

I was hoping for... more>> two strong male leads with this being AA and based off of what some of the reviews had to say. They were for the most part but when it came to the romance and the relationship dynamics, it was very typical cliché top and bottom roles.

Typical top being shameless, a bully, taking it too far, pe*verted, inappropriate in all the wrong settings, and aggressive while the bottom acts shy, embarrassed, hesitant, guilty, avoidant, and shutting down most advances by the top. And of course, no way will the top ever consider being the bottom.

Spoiler

As for the hot scene, I view it as dubcon that went into r*pe. Once it started, very typical bottom wanting it to stop. Very clearly saying no, stop, I don't want to; even physically pushing on the top while saying stop and pull out. The top going as far as to tie up his hands and pin them above his head while giving him kisses and telling him it's fine, be good, I can't stop now. This of course doesn't get seen as dubcon or r*pe because they mutually like each other and eventually the bottom feels pleasure so it's brushed under the rug.

[collapse]

I personally don't like this trope so this was a big disappointment and turn off for me. If I would've known what their hot scene was actually going to be like, I would've never read this story. This is days worth of reading I cannot get back. The big scene doesn't come until chapter 86 too so you're already so far into the story.

Overall, I thought it wasn't good and wished I wouldn't have read it.

I will say the translation was very good though. <<less

I've read some e-sports novels and one main issue they have is that they focus either on the gameplay with some romance sprinkled here and there (Waiting For You Online), or they focus on the romance slap a couple of games in the beginning or end (Romance of the Century).

This author managed a good balance between gameplay and romance. The quality of both elements starts off strong, the gameplay is engaging and well-described, and the main couple’s background stories is slowly unfurled and gets really dark and intriguing, but the... more>> quality of these elements falls off a cliff in the second half of the novel.

I think the author’s main issue is that they put too many interesting plot points in place without developing them. Take the gameplay element for example, there’s no effort of creating a bond between the characters and the champions, like, say, it’s done in You Can Do It, or in FOG (between characters and in-game classes). So I as the reader couldn’t really care about what champions they picked and thus I felt way less engaged than I was in I Can Do It where I knew that if LeBlanc slipped through the ban phase, I was in for LOADS of fun. In this story I couldn’t care less, which made me care less about the gameplay scenes in general.

Another issue with this author’s writing the gameplay is that they mention team just for the sake of naming them and don’t introduce them properly. Granted, in many C-novels secondary characters are paper-thin, but in FOG, for example, the author has the all-stars international team as main antagonist and all the matches leading up to that create momentum and help the reader emotionally connect with the gameplay scenes. And now that I’m thinking of FOG and I Can Do It, the authors of these novels create a community of pro players that’s quite realistic, such as showing their interactions on weibo and in group chats, and this hugely helps in not only introducing other teams and create a web of emotional connections among the characters, but it also helps the reader empathise with the secondary characters AND enjoy the gameplay scenes more. All the other teams in this novel are simply letters, and only a couple of secondary characters stand out, Lele and Xu Xiao, which is so disappointing because it detracts from the entire gaming plotline. Thanks to Lele and Xu Xiao a couple of early matches are fun to read, but when the novel reaches Worlds, it’s a jungle of nameless, faceless, storyless opponents that I couldn’t care less about.

Another element that suffered from the author’s all-over-the-place writing in the second half of the book is the romance plot and because of one reason, the plummeting characterization quality. At the beginning it’s great, the main couple turns out they have a tragic story both with each other and on their own, MC’s ill with something, it feels like ML is keeping something from his sister but also viceversa, and MC’s father gets up to some actually insane stuff. All interesting and sht and you know where all these plot points go? Fvcking nowhere, that’s where. The main couple’s tragic background family story? Suddenly dismissed off-scene in a couple of sentences. The shou’s medical condition? Suddenly stopped being mentioned at all. The father’s messed up actions? The novel tells you: father who? Forget about that dude lol.

But it’s not all negative, I recommend this novel because of two main reasons. The issue I've had in the past with e-sports novels is that I've seen end-game tournaments start out strong but ending way too rapidly and summarily. By the time I was done with this novel, I was pleasantly surprised that the author did the opposite. The last tournament of this story starts out rapidly and the first few rounds are described in a few words, while the final matches are narrated more in detail. And the other reason why I’d recommend this novel is AA pairing means no heat. Finally I can do away with that plot point and focus on pheromones and sht, I really liked that. If you’re not for switching tho, nah, there’s no switching. This is danmei, were you seriously hoping for switching? Tsk, tsk. <<less
