Somewhere between 4 and 5 stars.

This was a surprisingly nice read. It takes an old theme and brings some new life to it.

The most important thing to understand about this story is that the framework it's built on, is not the the theme or even a really important part. The science fictiony parts are just there to set the stage and let the story happen. The important part is what drives the father on his journey and quest for a thing he can never have.

My only real complaint is that... more>> this was too short and leaves too much open. Other than that it's certainly worth the read.

P.S. Writing and translation both excellent, clear and lucid. <<less

For a one shot, I thought it could avoid plot armor but the female lead had the thiccest of them all. Maybe because the story is outdated, that’s why it couldn’t trigger any thought provoking theories on the ideas of guilt and what’s natural. Eitherway, it’s a good short. Read it
