I’m a very ordinary girl, with no interest in otome games, but was suddenly s**ked into the world of the cliche Heartthrob Love Revolution.

That’s all well and good, I’m not exactly thrilled, but it’s fine. However, why am I the heroine’s older brother? I’m a girl! My character is named Makoto, and I hang out with the Heroine to help her get together with the princely character and make it to the end credits.

All righty, I just need to support the Heroine while she does her best. If I do, I think I’ll be able to go back to my world… but, why am I so popular? Hey, prince, don’t you blush at me!

Pretty much what’s in the description. The female MC is dragged into a game as the brother of the supposed main character, trying to pair off his sister, while all the playable characters fall for him. It’s not a bad concept, but since all the characters fall instantly, they’re just waiting around for the MC to notice as she trips flags and is targeted by various rivals. The story is also very much dependent on its characters, but unfortunately decided to go with a mix of your standard ‘nice’ types... more>> with one or two quirks to differentiate them and the spurned women types, where there’s one dramatic turnaround scene to redeem them before progressing to the next problem character. So not particularly relatable or realistic. Overall, the story is character-driven but churns out very generic and flat personalities, with cliched scenarios and limited character development. It’s easy to fall into at the start, but hard to keep following since it’s not particularly memorable. Other notes: Recently the MC seems to spend a lot of time with the gross character who spews tacky lines (though since it's a game, all the characters have tacky lines). Also this could’ve made a pretty decent and short comedy, but it’s kinda a mediocre all-rounder. <<less

Surprisingly good.

The protagonist, Mako, is transported from her world into an Otome game world that her friend, Subaru, made. However, she was transported into the body of the Heroine's (Mitsuki) twin brother.

Throughout the time spent in the game world, Mako is adamant on not falling in love with anyone, because she wants to return to her own world. Her friend, Subaru, suggest that they may be able to return to their own world if they allow the game to reach its 'Happy Ending', which would require the Heroine to build a relationship with the main 'capture target', Kiritani Riku, also known as 'Prince'.

On a side-note, Mako also ends up developing a sister-complex, which ends up making the story even more hilarious. Luckily, the complex is kind of returned by her sister, and they develop a mutual sibling-complex.

However, Mako encounters several of the 'capture targets', they begin to fall in love with her instead of her sister, the Heroine. Since the beginning the story has been edging in several different types of 'capture targets' with different personalities to differentiate them, however, it becomes clear that this story isn't going to end in a 'harem-end'. Mako slowly falls for one of the 'capture targets', Tsubaki Soutarou, who has been consistently devoted and doting towards Mako, and the least problematic of all the 'targets'.

Just as a note, the author does go into a couple of chapters to flesh out some of the problematic characters. Although, I do understand why they exist, since in an actual Otome game, there generally will be characters that are problematic, I'm not particularly a fan of them. Luckily, they're only the primary focus for a few chapters, and Mako does not end up particularly liking any of them.

Throughout the beginning and middle of the story Mako was constantly trying to deny her own feelings, which really added to the sense of conflict between her decision to love or to not, since she believes that this is all temporary. And, considering she's experiencing a culture-shock from becoming a male, and may not know the norms for male-bonding or the new alternative world, I am more willing to accept that her actions may actually be a product of her previous world view – a slightly loner-ish and tomboy-ish Japanese girl.

However, we don't see Mako going through with her decision to pick any one of the characters, until she realizes that her sister has already chosen someone - Takayanagi.

Fortunately, Mako ends up choosing Soutarou, instead of the other 'targets'. I was rooting for them since the beginning. Near the end of the story, Mako eventually gets her original body back, for a brief period of time, and finds out that Soutarou can still recognize her and love her even with the differences in gender. And by the end of the story, after she becomes a male once again, and it's implied that they'll have a happy future together.

However, I am a bit sad that Mako won't be able to return to her own world though, but it seems like she'll be able to live an enjoyable life in the alternative world though. It's a bit open-ended whether or not Mako or Subaru will ever return to their worlds, and if that will create any complications. And, as a reader, we aren't certain whether the real Makoto will ever return, and where he has gone, now that Mako is still residing in his body.

Even so, overall, it's a pretty good read, although some parts were harder to read through (6 of the 67 chapters were about 2 capture targets that I did not care for). In general, I would recommend, since it seems to be one of the better series with a 'Female-to-Male'. I, personally, found that Mako's female and male perspective to be refreshing, especially in contrast with the villianess and other heroine stories, which are still enjoyable, have become quite saturated. <<less

Eh, I came into this hoping it would be something fantasy... Mistaken. It’s a modern world...

Other than that, the relationships seem a bit forced with the puppy and the prince... I dunno, I just don’t see the magic or thrill of other stories.

While a bad guy student council president is nice, it’s kinda “blurgh” to read that he sleeps with women in the student council rooms. I dunno, it just seems like something the teachers would get right on if they knew... and if most of the student know...... more>> I could be wrong or uptight...

Story is just not clicking with me. Stopped whichever chapter it was that the dude appeared. <<less

This is super weird yanno

A girl in a boy's body romancing other hot boys is really weird

What happens after she achieves a love ending? Won't it be pitiful for the real Makoto to return to his body and find a guy in love with him but unable to return his feelings?

Then what about the girl Mako that gets transported back to her old world even though she's fallen for an in-game character? Ahhhhhhhhh this is a dead end unless the author gives it a super plot twist

Rating is 5/5 damn smartphone lol

Anyway, the MC is super popular without him knowing and do not realize that he became the Heroine at the story and not a support chara. Lol, the rivals is jealous to our poor Mako-chan~

Madoka sees him as her rival to Takayanagi even though he doesn’t have a clue about it. Mako still thinks that Mitsuki needed to get together with one of the capture targets, when the capture targets interests is him.

I guess I enjoyed it at first but it's starting to get a bit boring. There's not much driving me to read more and not gonna lie the things the characters do are getting repetitive.

MC being dense. Soutarou with his puppy dog eyes. Kaname smirking fr the sidelines. Ichigo making moves. And then Subaru with her her BL delusions starring MC. I kinda wish there was more to their characters, more than how they're expected to react

It’s a cute and simple story in essence, if you remove the gender-bend isekai part.
I quite liked it, for a short read, it had enough plot for it to be worthwhile. My only complaint would be that while the ending was happy, it kind of just ended there, no follow up or epilogue. There’s also plot holes that weren’t fulfilled and branches that could have been expounded on which would beef up the story and let it evolve from a light novel to an actual novel (for a web... more>> novel I mean, this wouldn’t pass as a paperback).
So in conclusion I liked it but it left me with a “and then what happened?” feeling due to how it ended.

Warning: the spoiler contains ending relevant spoilers.

Like seriously what’s going on with Mako’s switching between guy-girl bodies, will it be a continuation issue or will he need xxx to maintain the male body? (Because like when Soutarou kissed Mako, she turned back into a He).

Then I also want to know if Mitsuki is aware that Mako isn’t her real brother or not.

I also want to know what is it that Subaru also wanted to do before returning to reality.

Then finally I would like it that if ever Mako returned to reality then Soutarou and co. Would actually be real people who were also playing a role, so the Happy Ending could continue in reality. Instead of arbitrarily ending it where it did.

It’s ok, the beginning was very solid and I loved the set up but the middle and ending become quite convoluted. In the end, we don’t get why MC transmigrated, and the author made the mistake of making adding too many characters but not know how to use them all. MC pushes off making a decision on who to date so it comes off quite flippant, not to mention the anticlimactic ending. I think the story would have been much more interesting if ... more>>

MC and her friend made it look like they ran away together when they transmigrated back to their world. But Mitsuki refuses to part with her brother and summons them back and MC and friend have to deal with that aftermath.

that said, the beginning is very story and is very fun to read. It’s fun to watch MC accidentally Casanova the love targets that were originally meant for Mitsuki. While the flaws are there, the parts that were actually good are very enjoyable and pretty strong! <<less

It took me a long time to finish this... basically, MC is loser unpopular ugly NEET girl, and her best friend is this ultra cute fujoshi that makes otome games. Her and her best friend isekai into one of these games, her best friend stays as herself, while the MC becomes the heroine’s brother. As the brother of the heroine, she accidentally ends up seducing all of the heroine’s love interests... while she’s a dude. I might be reading WAY too deep for something that is as obscure as this... more>> webnovel w only 69 chapters.

For most of the novel I can actually relate to the MC a lot, because she is just extremely disinterested in all of the romantic pursuits from the harem of men she accidentally amasses (the MC is in male body 99% of this novel, she regularly refers to herself as a woman still so I am using she/her pronouns). Her blatant disregard for their feelings for most of the novel, or the desire to just remain friends/ not accept affections from these guys is something I can actually understand, being confessed to all the time, not being able to return those feelings sucks, and while the MC is very flippant, I think it’s also a bit unfair her actions are labeled as “cruel” in the text itself. It’s interesting to see how she views things from both a male and a female perspective. She does kind of play with the boys feelings but it’s because she literally just wants to go back to her home world... the dudes were kawaii but were all pretty flat, kind of archetypal.

The MC reads as a closeted lesbian for 80% of the book (which makes me even more frustrated when she actually does get with one of the guys by the end). shes... lowkey homophobic "even if im a girl in a mans body, theres no way two men could be together!" yet her mental descriptions of the other girls she sees (the sister she now has after transmigrating) are extremely Not Hetero In The Slightest. she fawns over her sister so much that the other characters dub her a sis-con (shes in male body, the body is blood related to this girl shes been fawning over). Also, her extremely strong emotions and infatuation with her best friend told at the beginning of the novel are intense... basically admitting that she’s one of the only people MC has at all. Especially cuz MC was loser neet girl in previous life with no friends except for her female bestie (who made the otome she transmigrated into, her best friend is a fujoshi thats been shipping her with all the yaoi dudes) BASICALLY! Vibes are off. Makes me wonder if she was in love with her best friend even if its not stated explicitly...

Most of this lowkey lesbian nonsense isnt the forefront of the novel. It’s moreso about MC having fanservicey moments with the dudes she accidentally seduces lol.

The MC is almost overly detached from the situation she is in. "I'm in a highly suggestive position and literally love flags are popping up everywhere? Ok, maybe it's a misunderstanding!” Please. One thing I did was that they talk pretty openly (MC and her best friend) about MC’s feelings about s*x and dating etc as a male, which I actually appreciated a lot, however moments like these are minimal at best for such a short novel...

By the end, the author ended up opening more plot holes, making me very confused as to what the author was really going for. There was no proper explanation, only added and unfinished scenarios. MC had the threat of returning to her original world, plus she basically declined the advances of all the dudes for 60+ chapters, then she suddenly admits she likes one of them and is okay with kissing? And she stays in this world in this male body, even though she said she wanted to go back for most of the novel???? Just so rushed and forced out of nowhere.

the guy she ends up with was the one with the most screen time / development and WAS the best “match” for her, but plot wise it still doesn’t make much sense, as she’s been unaffected by Soutarou (lover) all this time, even thinking things like “I feel nothing” for as long as she’s been pursued. Not that Souta isn’t cute, but this doesn’t really feel like a natural development relationship wise. It was obvious the author was setting them up together, like Souta gets trice as much time as any other character...

This novel is probably a 5/10 for me. but kudos to good translation <<less

I meant to rate 5/5....

starts out slow and MC is a bit dense but it’s so darn heartwarming! The character development of our MC is amazing, really worth following. I love our love interest so much he’s so precious, It’s really worth reading till the end but I wish the side stories were translated too.

It's extremely "meh".

I liked the feel of the story in the beginning but the endship kinda ruined the whole story for me.

I wouldn't really bother reading this tbh. There are better stories out there.

Tbh mediocre, normally I'm okay with cliches (im a lover of many isekai mangas, dont hate) but the flow here isn't that great and neither are the characters. I can tell the author tries to develop them, but of course given how many there are it's hard which leads this to fall on its face I feel. Especially the characters that end up being important (like the one MC chooses) should be developed but entirely aren't, very shallow and honestly I don't feel the appeal. Falls in love way too... more>> fast. See spoilers for details.

Emotional scenes feel rushed and you don't really get how one scene led to the next, and the MC's decisions are ridiculous. She, as a guy, gets pushed down and knows she can fight him off but obediently agrees to let him have his way (for people concerned, nothing ends up happening) ?? I get that becoming the other gender means she has the right to be effeminate sometimes, but the ridiculous "going with the flow" is actually absurd. The entire novel felt like she was taking care of her children, which makes sense to some point considering her goals but still!! Furthermore, as someone that loves the "misunderstandings" and dense character, this was way too much.

It's not the worst time killer in the world if you're in the mood for something brain-numbing but there are better things to read. I really tried to like this and get a grasp on it before making a judgement and writing a review, but alas.

Also, my personal bias against it,

She ended up choosing Soutarou, which I really don't understand because he just feels so shallow. All he really does is follow her around wagging his tail, idk someone like Kaname feels like there's more depth to them. To begin with he fell in love way too fast?? Esp since his setup is a straight guy and they were good friends, wut.. This relationship feels more like a parent-child pet-owner etc.

Since she ends up choosing him, I have higher expectations for at least his character development, but nope. The other ones aren't that much better; I feel like the author tried with Nakabayashi (the president) but it fell short and the Prince in particular is so lacking.

My personal favourites were Takayanagi and Kaname, even Ichigo, so I'm sad the first was chosen by the sis and the second wasn't chosen..

MC is like detached as hell from whatever is happening,

"I turned into a dude? Oh well"

"I'm in a highly suggestive position and literally love flags are popping up everywhere? Ok, maybe it's a misunderstanding"

It's not bad, I like the storyline, some romances are abit forced but hey it's still a good read.

Could've told more about how Soutarou fell for MC but issok

I like the Ichigo-chan arc, cause MC actually has emotions other than laid back. He's so cute and staightforward, very refreshing.

I skipped some chapters and moved straight to the ending.

This is a HE and MC will eventually pick only one person. (Its pretty obvious from the start who it will be tho)

Aside from the typical harem, where all capture targets surrounds MC, we will get to see some side chapters about these side characters which also involves some of the capture targets.

IIRC, there is a sidestory where MC goes back to her original body (and world)

It's a good read if you just want to pass some time. You'll see the stereotypical types like the tsunderes, hyperactives, flirts, serious types, etc. Given that the world is an otoge (Otome Game), which is pretty popular for girls in Japan

Actually, I want to give rate 4, 5.

The plot was good, but somehow not all capture characters always being together with the MC.

The MC, first he was dense, but more he into route with another characters, he also realizes he "liked" by most capture characters.

... more>> What make me kinda sad, the MC should back to her world. And she (he?) Can't tell anyone beside her friend, Subaru who somehow came to another world with her.

Well, I really do hope, this one can have happy ending. 'Cause in the game plot, the heroine can get happy ending right? What happen if the heroine not his sister, but him? It's will be sad when MC get in love and get one route with one of capture characters, but somehow he knows he can't stay longer and should be apart with one who she loves most. <<less

(I'm French so sorry for my shitty English)

It's a good enough novel. But a little disappointing too. 😐

... more>> I read it a few months ago, so I don't remember much. 😅

I really liked Soutarou, Riku, Ichigo and Kaname. Also the crazy little brother of the sick crazy girl, Ikuto, I think ? 🥰

But Kaname hurts me. He knows he doesn't stand a chance against his rivals and therefore prefers to support his friend. 😭

I am a little disappointed at the end. I don't find it logical. Makoto realizes that he is in love with his friend (I am not spoiling) just because he sees him cry and despite understanding that he is in love, just imagining the fact that they can having s*x disgusts him to the point that he wants to vomit. 🤯

And in the end, we do not understand if he will stay in this world or eventually return to his home world, which was still one of the two most important points in history with the famous question " Who is he going to fall in love with? ". 😑

It is also not known why he arrived in this world. 🤔

There are too many important points that are foreign to us, too many questions to which we have no answers. 😠

Despite a lot of negative points, I still recommend this novel if you want to read a BL harem without fussing over it.

Good reading. 😊 <<less

Surprisingly it's good. Like what description stated, this story is about A STRAIGHT GIRL who transmigrated into otome game as a BOY and turn that game to BL instead. Well, the author of that game is a fujo, so she put some BL-ness there but BOOOM! It becomes majority tho.

The MC of this story gets drawn into the world of a dating game her friend made (who also came along) where she will make most guys question their s*xual orientation - since she turned into a guy. It's about his daily life, most of it focused around school and his friends.

In short, it was sweet and funny. While it had questionable parts, it was overall endearing and easy to read.

In detail,

Makoto (the MC) is a fun person to follow, he is actually not very dense compared to some... more>> other novels where they stay naive until the end. That doesn't mean he doesn't get swept along, but it's a part of his charm.
His interactions with his friends in the beginning are really nice, easily turning him into one of the guys right off the bat. I really enjoyed this part, but it was a very fleeting friendship due to feelings and whatnot.
The only family you get to see is his twin sister, whom he turns into a siscon for and she loves him right back. It's one of my favorite parts and something I wished to see more of.

As for the side characters... They were added when convenient then forgotten about, even though there were some really interesting ones. Even some of the "targets" from the game were just briefly mentioned and dealt with.
Then his friend, the creator of the game, was only ever used to talk about boys with and didn't have a real personality. Shouldn't she have a bigger role? His best guy friend also went from a major character into a barely mentioned side character instead of having some nice bromance to make the MC realize there's more to life than love.

In stories like these I always wonder about the gender bender part when it's not relevant at all. He doesn't have an existential crisis or even touch on the subject on life as a guy, honestly wouldn't you feel some sort of culture shock? Just like the details about getting into the game, it was just half-assed.

The romance was extremely strange. To make it as little spoiler-y as possible,

I appreciated how Makoto tackled them throughout most of the story, but the transition from friendship to love was weird. You can't feel the chemistry at all and he's talking about treasuring friendships and liking everyone equally throughout most of the novel, then he goes "he's my soulmate!" the very next chapter - a complete change to his personality.

Then, there was no ending with the other characters. They didn't deal with rejection and some sort of insight into what life would be or what they would do next. Are they still even friends?

His sister Mitsuki who did something major and was a big part of his heart - was then never talked about again.

Finally in the end, the author ended up opening more plot holes, making me very confused as to what the author was really going for. There was no proper explanation, only added and unfinished scenarios.

The translation was really nice, and my overall impression is still that it was enjoyable through its flaws. I think the author has a lot of potential. <<less

when MC gets w the boy but I didn’t really see it coming? like she realised her feelings but... why??? hah?? where did it come from after she was so insistent that she like all of them equally as friends! also the cannon was not my ship unfortunately.... I preferred the other friend hoho.
