Lu Nian has transmigrated into a novel and become an insignificant and frail supporting female character. She is the heiress of the prestigious Lu family and appears as a pitiful and sickly beauty. In the original plot, she was a cannon fodder character who died after only a few chapters. Unfortunately, the Lu family brought a fake older brother from an orphanage to assist Lu Nian during her childhood. This “brother” is actually a servant of Lu Nian, treated as lowly and disposable as a dog.

When Lu Nian transmigrates, she sees a pale and handsome young man who is being trampled upon by others. His eyes are gloomy and cold, and he stares intensely at her from a distance. Lu Nian trembles when she hears his name. Isn’t he the ultimate villain in the novel? He is the final successor of the Lu family, cold-hearted and ruthless, with immense power. He seeks revenge for the suffering he endured in his youth and nearly perishes along with the male protagonist.

Terrified, Lu Nian decides to treat him well during her limited remaining lifespan, hoping that he would spare her at least as a loyal dog after his descent into darkness. Qin Si never imagined that one day he would receive such tenderness from her, which he had daydreamed about. If she looks at him a little longer or smiles at him, he would forsake everything, even his life, for her.

Note: The male and female lead have no blood relation, and the male lead was not adopted by the female lead’s parents or relatives. He was simply fostered in her family, and they are not registered under the same household, eliminating any legal or ethical issues.

It’s an interesting albeit the progression of the romance makes the whole story. The FL is weak but suprisingly resilient. The ML is moody and cold, akin to a mix of tsundere with yandere tendencies.

This story is very endearing for me. ML and MC has known each other since they were a child. As they growing up, ML knows that he loves MC so much but due to his childhood and background as orphan, he feels insecure.

ML was cold, insensitive, and was so purehearted despite his growing up in back alley. In their relationship, when MC realised that ML actually loves her so much but couldnt confess due to his insecurities, MC actively shown her feeling.

This story more on

sensitive cold boy X sickly beauty... more>> girl.

Besides, ML actually known that MC and oriMC was different from the start. He was sensitive since he was a child and could feel other malice towards him. But MC gives off warmth towards him. Thats the reason our ML never likes OriFL because her goodness came with scheme [OriFL was really manipulated everyone around her including OriML]

In extra, the parallel of their modern world was my favourite. In that world, our MC meets with ML when he was 18yrs old.

ML keeps on dreaming their lives in the novel MC transmigrate from when they were a child until they married.

In that parallel world, MC family was really good. ML lives across their house. After knowing that ML was an orphan and situation, MC family treats him well like family.

ML feels guilty because he has feeling for MC. At one time, MC father even wants to adopt ML in their family. MC mom gives suggestion to take him as their son-in-law.

MC was so afraid that her family will really adopt ML since they have been together. Actually MC family has been waiting for them to confess. LOL. In this world, I feel happy because ML could experience the family warmth from MC family since in novel world, MC dad is scum.

My rating would actually be 4.5.

I loved the start but it deteriorated as the story progressed. If this wasn't a novel or there were even minor changes, the story would have an extremely tragic one like the first life of 'Please Confess To Me' where the guy died without the girl knowing he loved her.

ML is too insecure. Insecurity is alright but it is to the point that he'd rather just possess her than tell the FL he likes her. Moreover, he was just really really cold to her in their youth. In stories like this, at least the FL should be bold but she too holds on and destroys a good part of the story. He doesn't need you for the company, then why the hell would he want to marry you? They have absolutely zero communication and looooots of issues which could be avoided. He just left for 3 years and suddenly came back expecting everything to be as it was and doesn't even tell her what he did during those years. For god's sake! The relationship almost turned toxic where he just possessed her and not be with her. His marriage proposal made me want to kill him. Some of the times, I just wanted to knock some sense into the twos heads. But without considering the problems in their relationship, the two were precious sweethearts that should be protected.

Really cute start, rapidly deteriorates (especially if you're MTLing and reading the author's notes) until by c50ish I was ready to just drop.

The transmigration aspect isn't really important since the FL actually starts losing her old memories the longer she's in the world. She can't do stuff like depend on her adult knowledge to suddenly become a genius in class, and by high school she only remembers the main plot points of the original plot so it's not much help.

The FL is a sickly caged canary type character. She's also... more>> a standard love brain FL who seems to lose all dignity and brain function when faced with the ML. The ML's prickliness is cute when he's a kid, but when he never really changes it gets really annoying and the FL seems like even more of an idiot for not only tolerating but making excuses for him. This is what the author thinks a "satisfying wife chasing crematorium" is? This bullsh*t where the FL does everything while the ML just acts like a victimized incel?

By c50ish I was ready to quit because of the sheer amount of misunderstandings and lack of communication - not miscommunication, but straight up not even communicating. I can't count the amount of times I spaced out and started making up my own version of the plot or got bored/frustrated and skipped chapters. At times it seems like it will finally get better because the ML is finally learning, but then nothing happens. Even more aggravating is the author will make other character completely OOC so they can use them as a mouthpiece to defend the ML.

I don't know if I'm continuing this. I might just skip around to the end, but I don't know if it's worth the frustration. <<less

It’s a very sweet read.

I love how whenever the FL tries to act evil to the ML, he interprets it as her being kind, and his response to her riles her up because she thinks he’s being evil towards her.

The way the ML sees her as his entire world - as she was the first person to be kind to him - is so heartwarming. He pampers her more than anything, and I couldn’t help but squeal over all their interactions.

I definitely recommend this if you’re looking for a heartwarming... more>> read between two lovely people! <<less

The protagonist doesn't do anything, she doesn't remember anything, she can't even put obvious clues together. It's frustrating watching her lament her situation and yet do absolutely nothing about it.

ML and FL relationship progress is a bit slow. They know each other from childhood and later towards the end of story become lover.

FL is sickly from early on and ML is basically like a porcupine, he doesn't want anyone to get near him.

But later ML realise FL kindness towards him and open his heart.

There are some misunderstanding between them but it's bearable.

All things considered, it's worth a try.

Cute at first but really got frustrating for me in the long run. Riddled with plot holes, if you can ignore it then I guess this can be readable.

DNR for me. I'm still amazed with the author, they managed somehow to write transmigrator/FL to know about the ML and his situation but made her so dense and clueless about it at the same time. She has a high standing in her mansion anything she say goes yet couldn't do anything to alleviate the situation of ML. Like one firm order... more>> and the ML could have been given a good room but of course that's unreasonable and not polite. Despite the facts that her character have already done many spoiled despicable things and known for her vile temper. With so many contradictions and plot holes my patience and brain just couldn't take anymore it tried to skip some chapters but just couldn't continue. <<less

A solid 3.5 for me.
I kept reading in hopes it would get better but it doesn’t. The high school phase takes way too long, it was dragged out and beaten to pulp even after it lost its juice.
everything that happened during the high school phase could’ve been shoved into 3-4 chapters. Like seriously. It was pointless

But there are some positive qualities to the novel. For example,
I like how the ML was written, he’s not your typical cold ML who is only sweet with his girl, he’s cold to everyone including the girl even after she helps him. Although this changes but majority of the novel he is mean.
of course as readers we know his true feelings, why he acts like that and blah blah. And this is why the FL is admirable in some respect as she kept chasing him even after he was mean to her. Yes she did not give up on but this is also a flaw in the novel.

She puts him in difficult positions, and honestly if I didn’t know the ML real feelings/inner thoughts and was watching as a bystander, I would say she was a stalker. At some points in the novel she was obsessed with him, going to his work and home (trying to catch him in an act? She misunderstood ofc) getting angry with some of his choices and all when she had no right (as in she was not his girlfriend or even friend) She justifies her choices by saying that they were childhood friends but if u read the novel and their interactions as children, can you really say they r friends?

he tells her to leave him alone multiple time and says mean things to her but she always comes back. It just bothered me cuz just imagine if he actually had no feelings, genuinely disliked her and she kept doing the things that she did regardless? Left a bad taste in my mouth.

anyways it’s pretty boring, nothing exciting. Since most of the novel she’s a princess trapped in a cage. Like others said the transmigration is pointless, u could’ve cut that piece out and the novel still would be the same.

I'm at chapter 30 and I'm very frustrated for the MC. I get the ML and I also understand why he is that way but it also pisses me off... this kind of MC is also too annoying at this point. I'm mostly frustrated on how there was barely any development in their childhood and they've missed the best years for a cute childhood love story... idk what cuteness or fluffy romance is supposed to develop but I'm very very dissatisfied with this story. Too messy.

i still think that... more>> she should have ended up with the other guy.

3 starts but became 4 by accident. <<less

I didn't read the extra chapters. This is not a story of transmigrated into the book. And they're not siblings. The girl family adopted the boy. She didn't use any info she knows from the book nor she has any special skill from her last life. It's a cute love story.

The girl is really dense and the boy has low self esteem issue and doesn't know how to communicate. I like the story after 45ish chapters. Fill with dog food.

The main story (69 chapters + 84, 85) was decent. Some gaps here and there in the timeline but it was not too bad. The issue I have is with the epilogues from chapter 70 - 83. It seems like the author just randomly want to write short stories about the 2 MCs in different eras (historical, modern, apocalyptic vampire era) that does not add anything to the main story. It would have been better if the author wrote those stories as their previous/past life and the main story as... more>> their current reincarnations.

Overall 3.5/5 <<less

A heart-wrenching tale of the ups and downs of a fragile FL and tsundere ML ><) 9 it's the best! The progression and growth between them takes up most of the novel and when they finally get together... the ecstasy! \ (QAQ) / They're imperfect and hurt souls. Both MC and ML have their troubles and personal hells so prepare for a lot of miscommunication (or generally lack thereof) and heartache between the MC and ML. They both hold assumptions about one another which leads to like 40+ chapters of... more>> just pain and sorrow *sob* but it's all worth it *sob*

MC works as an artist and she drew a series on her and ML called Black and White without ML's knowledge. It started off as just her drawing out the days she had with him like a diary but eventually it turned into the journey of their love and her memories with him. From simple events in the Lu manor of their childhood to her dark, teen to young adult years when ML left without contact and eventually their reunion in their adult years. This series causes MC to realise that she probably fell in love with him as early as starting this comic but could only express it in this way due to her scum father's oppression. ML also realises that his "delusions" and "insignificant memories" of his time with MC are actually very meaningful to her thanks to this series.

i need more tissues to cry into and new walls to break to cope with my feels for these two fools

Once they get together, boy, I really loved their dynamic. MC is more assertive in their relationship due to ML's traumatic childhood and insecurities (ML doesn't dare to touch MC first because he fears she will dislike him). MC slowly learns to adapt and work with ML's insecurities, and ML learns to communicate with MC more with threats of no hugs or kisses. Eventually, ML lets down his prickly thorns and relaxes around MC but he's still so cute and reserved that it awakens MC's S side lol adorable couple

A huge plus to this novel is that the ML doesn't know MC is a transmigrator! Bless!

ML does reveal, at the end, that he dreamt of his original end (su*cide at age 29) from the novel where MC was the ogMC, being cold and cruel to him and his life was horrific.

one thing I'd like to mention, MC's father is plain terrible, and the original hero and heroine of the novel world are honestly just terribly unbalanced from the moment the author introduced the heroine. You can just feel it! I could definitely feel it in MTL. The stench of a snake +==) She's such a scheming snake while, the hero is just a dumb blockhead who's like a lackey in a big boss position... oh my god I got so mad. I'm surprised (and pleased) that the heroine wasn't another transmigrator/reincarnator.

Heroine pretty much single-handedly destroyed the Zhao family (Hero's family) thanks to her schemes. She whispered insecurities into hero's ears during pillow talk of his younger brother usurping him and throwing him out of the family. She entraps and damaged the younger brother's health. After nearly killing MC's scum father, she commits su*cide which leads to Grandpa Zhao dying in a rage (from her mu*der attempt). Zhao parents eventually leave for abroad because Mother Zhao fell ill from all the stress.

Overall, definitely recommend! It's a great read! <<less

Usually I love sickly FL and to be honest the FL in this novel is really good considering my preferences... but I also really hate misunderstandings which is happening till ch.18 here... like ... more>>

the ML trying to be cold towards the FL although he loves and cares about her, and the FL who thinks that the ML hates her, which is understandable considering the ML's behavior.

For me the most frustrating part was when he saved her from the robber and visited her in the hospital without letting her know that he did this things for her, and the fact that her "brother" is trying to hide that from her is not helping at all!

But to be honest the story is pretty good. I just read it with the wrong mindset cause usually in the short novels I read there is no "misunderstanding" due to everything happening really fast like: (MCs meet each other -> they fall in love -> they become together) but yah those novels are like 20+ chapters so there's probably no time to have a misunderstanding or the misunderstanding got solved in like 2 chapters.

So to be honest I am probably gonna read this story again but the next time with the right mindset. so for now I recommend it to you if you like sickly FL with cold ML <<less
