A guy obsessed with a gacha (lottery) based RPG like game got transported to another world. This story will only be amusing if you're at least have played similar gacha games to know the MC's interests, other than that it will feel a little bit bland. There's no continuous plot, the arcs are episodic which have no real connections with each other. The main point of the story is the MC trying to collect the needed items to pull gacha by fighting monsters. The MC's party barely interact with that... more>> world's inhabitants aside from when they're doing quests. For the gacha itself, usually each arcs have different type of gacha events which probably funny if you've played them in real life. Although the title is getting girls army, character type gacha is extremely rare so don't worry about the harem getting way too big to care. 99% of the time the MC only got item type gacha in which most of them are prank items. <<less

The main character is just s*upid.
I do not see reason to read about the idiot.

[Actually... Haven’t we not heard what Okura-dono’s goal is?!]

[Ara, come to think of it that’s true.]

... more>> [Eh? Is that so?]

I think I said it quite some time ago, maybe I didn’t...

[Hmm, let’s see. My goal for the foreseeable future... My goal... What was it again?]

[Y’know, why are you asking us... ]

[Maybe it wasn’t important enough for you to remember it?]

Now that I’m thinking about this again, what *was* my objective? Rolling the gacha?
I remember the short term goal was to increase our combat power by rolling the gacha.
Maybe it’s not important just as Estel said... Oh.

[Ahhー, I remember now. It was supposed to be to look for a way for me to return to my former world.]

[Seriously, isn’t it weird for you to just forget about something like that!?]

[That sounded so casual... ]

Even I was surprised at the fact that I had completely forgotten about it.
There’s no helping that the girls would feel drawn back after hearing this.
I thought that there would be a need to do all sorts of things in order to find a way to return to my former world, and increasing the number of companions I had was but the first step.
As of now, I am in “I gotta increase the efficiency of farming manastones for the purpose of rolling the gacha because I want more party members” mode.

[Well, life here is unexpectedly fun, I can still roll the gacha too... Also it’s kinda scary to think about returning now to find out what has happened in my original world while I was gone.] <<less

It is a nice lighthearted read. There is not much plot and MC is a bit of a wuss, but it is fun to read. So far there haven't been any cringe moments worthy of mentioning for me and I enjoy the novel overall. The characters are actually surprisingly distinct and with the overall light tone of the novel it is pretty decent to pass the time.

There is also a possibility that he might actually get it on with the girls, but honestly, it is low in my opinion. But... more>> the girls actually like him, and there are signs that it might happen. The gacha itself is also not that OP. He does get something decent from it, but imo it's not broken to the point it makes everything else pointless. There are some useless items come out and some decent ones too. I also like that there are pretty decently set up rules overall. Stuff doesn't just randomly happen or MC doesn't just randomly gets sh*t that should've been impossible. For this type of story everything is surprisingly well set up overall.

Bear in mind that this is not a serious novel, so don't take it too seriously and enjoy. If you are looking for something serious, just don't read this one... <<less

A decent story premise. Could have been an interesting story.

Sadly, like many of these stories, it is written like a manga and not like a light novel.

What little story/description/character interaction/world building is written almost as if it is describing the next drawn panel in a manga, rather than telling a story with words.

... more>> I can't stress this enough, so let me say it the opposite way:

All the text in this story would only be enough to fill in text bubbles in a manga, where the story is told with pictures. This is almost written as a screen play rather than a story.

I have read the same 5 chapters 100 times in 100 different stories.
Spoiler

MC goes to new world, kills some goblins in a forest, gains a level, then travels to the nearest town, author spends more time about sharing a room with a woman, than he did on action sequence fighting goblins and orcs.... then joins adventure guild

A heartwarming story about a japanese gacha mechanist.

He gets transported into another world and has the gacha system, basically there's summons and items inside the gacha. Killing monsters gives the chance to roll the gacha.

The girls he summons are head over heels for him (onii san).

I would rate it 4/5.

PS: If you're looking for a serious story, this isn't for you.

Masterpiece - 5. Good - 4. Mediocre - 3. Bad - 2. Tr*sh - 1.

Overall rating - 2.5

Writing - 3. World building - 1. Plot - 1. It's a character driven story.

Character depth - 3. What do you expect from a gacha based story? But at least the girls are cute and likable like any gacha game. MC is a wimp.

Art - 3.

Enjoyment - 3. It was a decent and fun read but you better read the manga adaptation

I can't say it is a great novel but the story progress with nice pace and the characters have quite deep and complex personalities. The settings may look sloppy but not crappy. The plot is not that great but it's go well with the story and reading it is kind of make you hook at it. The characters development is also well done with how the story progressed though it's not to the point of spiritual growth that you can feel from master piece series.

It's good enough for me to... more>> read until the end and feel like it's too short as it's only 9 volumes long novel.

Overall I will give it 4 stars (personally it would be around 4.2-4.3 stars but it's rounded down) <<less
