The problem is that I already read a lot of xianxia/xuanhuan webnovels. That's why I find 'Unrivaled Medicine God' is so clice.

- Promising young master from one of the top realm died.
- Rebirth in the body of useless young master from the lowest realm (mortal world).
- The previous owner of the body is good for nothing young master & has very poor reputation.
- His family is having a struggle of power in the city with his rival's family.
- He has a loyal servant (young girl). And apparently, she has extraordinary aptitude for cultivation. She has very foul mouth and annoying attitude.
- The previous owner of the body pursued some annoying girl but now she diligently licking every bum in the sect in order to accomplish her objective (killing the 'good for nothing' MC).
- Keep getting breaktrough in cultivation and suddenly 'proficient' in medicine.
- If someone asking "How can you change so much?". His answer: "I encountered some luck with a mysterious granpa / senior."
- A lot of useless talk before & in the middle of duel.
- A lot of useless scheme and sneering because in the end MC will always do something that makes his enemy and crowd dropped their jaw.

If you already read :

- War Sovereign Soaring The Heavens
- Alchemy Emperor of Divine Dao
- Eternal God Emperor
- Martial Upheaval
- Battle Through The Heavens
- Immortal Mortal
- Peerless Martial God
- Soaring Of Galaxia

Then, there is nothing new for you. <<less

5% story 95% annoying filler and audience comments, typical ordinary Chinese cultivation novel. Don't expect much as most pill cultivation novels usually revolve around the same cliche tropes. The story is filled with arrogant young masters and nonsensical problems that persist through 10+ chapters. Story line started decently but rolls in a downhill spiral from there.

Another OP MC face-slap fest Chinese cultivation novel, complete with all the same cliches you've experienced a million times, that actually starts out OK... until it turns into filler after filler, while endlessly repeating itself and saying things that have already been said multiple times before. Unrepentant in its blatant word padding, it seeks to bore the audience to death, 'Unrivaled Medicine God'? More like 'Unending Masochistic Grind'.

Well, it's a good novel despite being cliche. It has everything that a normal novel has: the genius girl friend of the MC; the main friend without much relevance; rivals; overpower.

It is not perfect, but it is acceptable, our MC was betrayed in the past and reincarnated in the body of a playboy who died, the good thing is that he does not act like a child always, only sometimes. Anyway, there is some visible and grotesque mistakes, but if you ignore it, everything will be fine, I'll give an... more>> example to anyone who wants a spoiler.

The MC is a sword master and in the fight of life or death did not even think about catching a sword but a technique, wtf type.

By the way, despite being a novel of alchemy, the major focus will be martial arts, since in this second life our protagonist wants to take revenge.

Maybe I edit in the future cause I like to read about 200 chapters before saying what I truly thinks about a novel. <<less

When I started reading this story, I immediately thought, "Uh oh." The main problem I, and many other readers going off reviews, have with this novel is actually glaringly obvious from the get go, but I wanted to give it every benefit of the doubt because I was really interested in reading an alchemy novel that actually focused on alchemy. In the end, I have only one thing to say to the author:

Find yourself a very aggressive editor.

There was a massive sale on filler content down at the writing store and this author stocked up in bulk. Things that could be said in 1 sentence are consistently said over five repetitive paragraphs. There are other issues with the story, there are always issues with webnovels, but these issues are easily dismissed. Cliche plot turns (barely a twist, a turn at best) ? Tropey, poorly written harem members that indicate a distressing lack of any knowledge or interest on how women actually think, feel, and act? Unnecessary foreshadowing on simply resolved schemes? Yeah. Good luck finding a webnovel without those things. But they can easily be balanced with more interesting MCs and writing, and just browsing the comments of QI shows there are plenty of people who apparently actively like these things.

But the filler. My god, the filler. One very merciless editor who sent back every chapter given and told the author to go cut out a good 60% chunk of it could have saved this novel, but alas, Chinese writers are paid by the word I hear.

I give this story the same amount of stars as the average amount of content in any given chapter. 40% real story, 60% filler.

(Actually it's more of a 20/80 split on average, because when you have literally entire chapters are nothing more than filler, it really messes with the statistics. But you get an extra star for having occasionally interesting enough alchemy stuff to get me to read 113 chapters of this rubbish.)

There are only a few novels that really focus on alchemy. 4 stars if you like novels that focus on alchemy alot.

WDDG is one and this is the other one. unfortunately WDDG is ruined by Ash....

Novels that will always be compared to this novel is

... more>> 1. Battle Through The Heavens, but BTTH pill concocting is not given foucs much because everything happens so fast and the MC needs to fight more and more.

2. Alchemy Emperor of Divine Dao. Alchemy emperor is utter trash. there is almost zero alchemy done by the MC after a bit and he just gives away pill recipes and collect alchemists like pokemon. very similar to how the MC of SOTR does his stuff.

The other novels that are compared such as WSSH, PMG and so on is actually funny because these stories only use alchemy at the start as a form of quick powerups. alchemy is then ignored for a long time and possibly never happens again. <<less

Your average face slapping novel, with an OP MC. Also the "villains" are mentally re****ed and extremely one dimensional, also around 1600+ the story gets a little over the top at being ridiculous as the MC goes around proving others like a hedgehog, and then you get the chase down =>kill =>Dead person father chase down etc.

The story is painfully cliche, especially early in the series. The MC is an OP haughty alchemist who inspires envy and hatred wherever he goes. His super-gorgeous maidservant is loyal to him while the youngest and prettiest teacher on campus and her cousin pay a lot of attention to him and sometimes chase him down. Fortunately, there is no romance yet, and I hope this stays out of harem territory.

As the story goes on, however, the MC's personality shows more depth, and the other characters gradually begin to show more... more>> depth as well. I especially like how loyal the MC is to his family and to those who are loyal to him. Although he is a genius, he is not perfect and doesn't always make the most calculated decisions one might expect from a Xianxia protagonist.

Although there have been some very stereotypical villains thus far, it looks like they may start to show some depth as well.

If I rated this series during the first fifty chapters, I would have given it a lower score. I hope it continues to improve from now on. <<less
